Ok, let's get this thread going. We all know that these two games will be compared to one another on launch, might as well start a thread on it now based on footage we've already seen. If your opinion is subjective, please state so - as no one can argue a subjective opinion. I'm more interested in the technical comparisons though.

So which game do you think is more "next-gen" as a launch platform?

Technically? Probably KZ:SF since it's 1080p native and 30-60 FPS variable on SP and 60 FPS on MP.

I prefer BF's style though.

From a technical level, I think it's easy to see that BF4 gets the nod. KZ:SF may visually look nice, but from technical level, we need to really look at every the frostbite engine is doing....from large open areas, soldier combat, air/land/water vehicular combat, destruction, effects, lighting, etc........I don't have any doubt in my mind that BF4 takes that crown.

This. Technically.....it isn't even close.
Visually.
One looks a bit more realistic, one more Sci-fi.
Only thing that KZ has on BF4 is the 60fps MP/and variable SP & Resolution.
Really depends on preference.

If you are only going by graphics and not what other things are going on like more destructibility and larger player counts with vehicles etc I think KZ is the winner by a pretty big margin. Of course it's not really fair to do it that way.

Now here is a good argument.

Are you assuming that 1080p and 30-60fps to be a superior factor over 900p @ 60fps? How about actual features in the graphics engine (i.e. reflections, higher res textures, physics, larger scale environments, etc..)?

We have to be careful not to distinguish between art and technical superiority. What makes you think that KZ wins by a wide margin if you take away destruction and larger characters with vehicles (although technically that does play a role)?

I think it looks more detailed, has a cleaner look overall and it just pops more. That's not to say that I think BF4 looks bad because I don't at all but I think if you were to show someone who doesn't play games and knows nothing about either series some gameplay video from KZ and then BF4 and just asked them which one looked more visually impressive they'd likely pick KZ.

Well I personally like the more photoreal look of BF4. But I do see your point. KZ:SF has more saturated colors and appears to have a similar color scheme to Halo even though the graphics are much more detailed . I definitely would disagree with a "more detailed look" though. I think BF4 has way more detail when you count particles, destruction, physics, etc..

I'm saying that just between BF and KZ:SF on the PS4, KZ:SF looks to be the more technically impressive game because of what they've been able to achieve. Killzone looks to be more crisp as well than BF4 on the PS4.

Yeah that's the thing with questions like these, it's all up to a persons opinion. I can see why someone would choose BF4 and I'd put it up there as one of the better looking next gen games I just wouldn't put it at quite the same level graphically with KZ myself. I have both games pre ordered (well KZ is sitting on my shelf here at my house) so I'll be able to compare them on launch day and see if either one changes my mind.

I want to stick my peepee inside the KZ disc hole. That's how sexy it looks.

I don't care for KZ but the ppl that say BF looks better let me know if that's still the case when you are in the further stages of the SP. The game looked good at first but once I got to the hurricane map everything just went down hill.

BF looks like ass on current gen consoles.
But are you comparing BF4 current gen to KZ next gen??????

Artistic values aside, BF4 on next gen and pc have better textures, better almost everything, other than resolution.

Yea, I wanted to try and avoid comparing BF4 on PC with KZ:SF because this is a PS4 forum. But yea, the words "crisp" , "sharp", higher res textures and 1080p would be moot in that scenario.

Technically, I have no idea, but Shadow Fall looks ah-maze-ing.

First two images are multiplayer--and this is a launch title. 1080p, 60fps. Yes please.

I downloaded the PS4 BF4 footage from Eurogamer, and it looks great, and BF has so much crazy crap going on that it is hard not being impressed, but when it comes to double takes, I think KZ wins out for me.

I'll know for certain in less than two weeks.

But notice how in KZ things get really blurried in the background?

Not saying that KZ doesn't look good, but that's if we're just looking at things up close and personal and just paying attention to pretty colors and what not.

From a technical level, BF isn't being touched by KZ.
