Blade Runner: 2049

You sir no longer have the right to call yourself a movie nerd. Consider your nerd card revoked.
Sci-fi, not normally a fan. Two genres, period pieces and six-fi. It takes a special movie in those genres for me to like, or even see. Other than the new Star Treks, never seen an episode not movie other than Rath of Khan, which I didn't like. I'll eventually watch Bladerunner though.

Trailer looks good. Very moody.

Just watch it A.S.A.P.

I think you will love it.

Saw the movie and read the book it's based on Do Androids Dream of Electric sheep.

I think anyone who enjoyed the story themes in WestWorld would find this interesting.

I still haven't watched Westworld.

Any show that sells me heaps of nudity without showing the full hog, is obviously affiliated with Trump, or people who kick puppies.

It makes me think of Ghost in the Shell, but much more refined in paying attention to lighting and color. I think Cyberpunk is supposed to have a Noir look and GotS didn't have that consistently.

Aside from that comparison, this looks and sounds great so far. Very curious to see how this film score shapes up under Johann Johannson.

I've been speculating on whether there could be an overlap or crossover between the Scott's ALIEN and Bladerunner. In the original, Deckard goes after Nexus 6 Replicants and also meets a prototype Rachel who might be considered a Nexus 7.

In Prometheus, we have a more artificial series DAVID 8. Even these 'Androids' seem grown or organic almost like cyborgs eating food or drinking milk which they seem to actually bleed if injured.

I'm probably way off, but just thought this might point to an interesting side to these stories. It would be weird to see Weyland or Yutani referenced in this movie though.

I want to see it badly, but need to find 2 hours and 44 minutes somewhere. I told the wife how long it was just to be prepared. Probably won't see it this weekend, but soon.
