Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Official Thread

I don't know how to feel about the futuristic deal. Looks great, but if game has to meet 60fps when all is said and done. Hopefully they don't have to downgrade the visuals too much.

So evidence is pointing to the next installment being PMC focused? I don't know how I feel about that, if they were the Antagonists might be alright, I don't see the appeal in playing as a Merc though.

Don't want to get into the weeds, but that vid is pretty misleading.

Nearly all R&D is done by private contractors. Equipment, jets, trucks, courseware, high-level training, etc, is largely done by civilian contractors. Private companies will always produce better work than government entities. I'm hardly in support of armies of Merchs, but that data is not being portayed honestly.

Well it's economy of scale, governments are training huge sums of personnel on vast sums of material. PMC are training an elite cadre of persons on prolly as good or better tech than govt. entities.

We actually need more larger maps. More sniper and camper friendly maps. The run and gun BS gets old fast. COD2 did a good job on offering both.

While I agree that COD2 had some good maps, large maps in COD can turn into boring matches. We need less sniping and camping.

We need less sniping and camping.
And I think we need more. It would be cool if we could get a run and gun game...AKA Arcade COD as it's own game, and a camping, sniping and realistic required game...AKA Realistic COD.

That's what Battlefield is for. It's nothing but camping.

I don't think keeping the maps mostly small to medium in COD is a bad thing, the player count isn't large enough to justify huge maps IMO.

There was too much running in Ghosts. Those maps were a tad bit big. The next game seems like it's going back to choke points and areas that can be controlled. That wasn't possible with Ghosts.

When I want fast pace run and gun I play COD. When I want more realistic slower pace I play BF. This is why I have enjoyed both over the years.

Yeah and the spawns in Ghosts did not help either. I miss the days of being able to control parts of the maps and not have to worry about getting shot in the back because someone spawned behind you. It was way more intense fighting your way through a line for an objective or defended and trying to stop an advancing team. I played with groups of friends so we would always work together and cover each other. This is why COD4 and WaW are still the best in that regard.

EDIT: Even MW2 did a good job as well.
