Official Thread Call of Duty: Black Ops III

Decided to take a break for one game with all of these weapon challenges and used a SMG . I have not used one since I got them all diamond which was a month ago. Never even seen what the diamond camo even looked like . Lol . But boy i so forgot how easy mode they are !

Version 1.05 patch is out for the PS4. 9.3GB. Includes the DLC, so you will have it for tomorrow.
Last gen, the entire COD game was 6gb. New gen, patch is nearly 10gb????

My thoughts on the maps...

Skyjacked - I never thought I needed this map again in my life (it is a remake of Hijacked, only instead of a boat, you are on a police aircraft flying in the air), but upon loading it up for the first time, and fighting over B in Domination like old times, I fell back in love. The one main change is on the side of the aircraft, there is a hole, leading to some fancy jump opportunities to the below deck area, so there are now three ways into that section.

Splash - If you liked Grind from Black Ops II, you will love this map. This map is truly beautiful, although there are already people glitching out of the map, getting into places they shouldn't be, so keep an eye out for that. This map is set in a water park, complete with slides, a wave pool, and a river rapids ride going along the perimeter.

Gauntlet - There are so many experiences in this map. The middle ice section feels like a great long range engagement area. The rainy city side streets area is perfect for SMGs and shotguns. And the jungle area is perfect for medium to long range action. The "bases" are designed nicely too, with multiple ways in and out.

Rise - This one I didn't get to play much, but it is big, open, and all paths converge to the middle, where, in Domination, there are no less than 5 different lookout points covering B. Snow maps are always fun, and this one is truly no exception.

So yeah, those are my thoughts after day 1. Well worth the wait.

Why does that specialist's... special, last so damn long? It's already dumb as f***. Slide stab through a hail of bullets.

I'm done with the game. Whatever they did in the last update has made it pretty much unplayable for me.

It's the servers man. They actually do have dedicated servers time.

But they seem to have bought maybe 1 or 2 of them, and so they get bogged down whenever there is a Double XP event.

Getting a ping of over 100 every game. During normal operating days? 60-80 ping. Much better.

Even with an average ping of 16 it was a lag fest this weekend . I have never seen so many people skipping around on my screen since the game has launched.

Servers are a bit flakey. I still get occasional "connection interrupted" pop ups where me and my buddy get bombed to the lobby. So it shows the host migration isn't as good as older titles.

During the MW3 and BO2 days, I don't think I remember any "connection interrupted" screens as the host migration was rock solid.

But better than nothing. Those old CoD 4 and WaW days were the worst. Zero host migration. I'd estimate 1/4 of all my games bombed due to the host quitting. Sometimes it was better NOT to call in a helicopter or attack dogs, knowing someone on the other team will likely quit if they are losing a lot. And if they are host, there goes the game. Keep 'em in the game to the end, but don't blow them out too much.

I've been playing BO3 on the XB1 a lot lately, not sure why but have neglected my PS4 version but will hit at it in the week.

I'm what David Vonderhaar calls a "filthy casual" as I enjoy playing 6v6 TDM :D

I do ok, get my streaks, they could do with a bigger buff, Wraith and RAPS need to get me more kills.

Do OK?

A7 your k/d is something like 3.4 when I check the leaderboards!

I hit a wall. After getting used to the game, I zoomed up to 2.50 k/d, but have now slowly dropped to 2.38 (I think). Things totally plateaued. W/L has hovered at 1.80 for a while too.

The more I play, the more my stats stay the same. In older CoD games, I'd inch up my stats slightly. In BO3, it came to a halt.

I hate the black market. Seems like everyone else gets good stuff, and I always get crap.

Even though I said I never would do this I i purchased some COD points . 10 dollars worth . I got the sword, the hand cannon AND the crossbow . The crossbow is badass. it's always a one shot kill no matter the range. Don't hate . lol. I honestly cannot believe I got that lucky.
Because when it comes to the lottery I never win anything.

"You can trade 10 Cryptokeys for a Common Supply Drop. A Common"

So I never really knew what to do with those cryptokeys I have earned. So I use those keys in the Black Market to buy things, and those things can only be used once in a single round...and what I buy is limited to what is available if someone else buys it before me in that round?

As far as I know, what you get, you keep. I keep my camos, specialist gestures, etc. It's just that I get stuff I don't care about.

Ah, ok. Well, then, I might start using them. For some reason, I was getting the impression they were like those playing cards in Titanfall. One use and gone.

Thank you!

I love the Splash map. So many random kills. I saw a guy get sniped in mid air and his lifeless body slid down the water slide. It was epic.
