Call Of Duty: Ghosts Discussion

it deseves all the hate

spawns and time to kill are the worst i have ever seen in a COD

Why does Ghost get so much hate?
I played more tonight and it's a lot of fun, are the older games that much better?

It is the usual "the current game stinks, the last one was great" kind of thing. I never fully understand it. It is the same game every year....

Camping is the norm now. I can't even call it camping anymore because it's a tactic that seemingly 90% of players do on the regular.

Rushing has become a rarity. More people use thermal LMGs in this game than Target finder LMGs in the last game. And that s*** basically did the aiming for you.

no this is different

i have played every COD to atleasst first prestige.. i couldnt get past level 20 or something on this. horrendous maps, horrendous speed, horrendous netcode, horrendous graphics, horrendous killstreams, horrendous perk system... it has now take over MW3 as the worst COD ever

before people use to complain but still play, i am not seeing many playing that usually did. in youtube or forums, the 5 group of people i met through COD dont even play it and they played Blops2 religiously

My brother didn't do his customary COD for him and I for xmas to play together. Between him finally getting burnt out on the series and the scathing user reviews he decided to skip it.

Thank TPTB.

Some opinions:

If you're most used gun is the M27, you probably suck.
If you still use IEDs on ANY of your classes, you probably suck.
If you combine these two and camp with them, you most definitely suck.
If you can't do well solo and require a team of 6 to play well and win, you definitely suck.
IF YOU DO ALL OF THE ABOVE AT ONCE AND STILL LOSE, trade your game in.

Just because you have a 3KD doesn't actually mean you're good. lol.

The map design is totally catered to camping. The maps actually punish you for moving. We were talking a few pages back basically if you don't have some friends to watch your back, you will have a tough time running around. The problem is there are just too many spots to check when moving around. There's a million little places on every map to hide.

Not impressed with the maps so far, but I only got to play all but Favela offline against bots. All the maps are a campers paradise. I don't remember Favela being this awful in MW2, but it is all snipers and LMG thermal scopers. All 3 rounds I played all hit the time limit in regular TDM (which is really bad).

The other maps seem huge and campy. They are just your rat race get spawned behind mazes.

Fortunately I haven't had this problem. My favorite of the maps is departed.

It is amazing how a map in one game can be complete crap in another game. I don't think Favela is complete crap, but Ghosts' play style is not suited for it.

I actually bought the maps for Ghosts because of Favela being in there. I think this is a good map pack. I dislike Ghosts a ton. I think it's the worst CoD I've ever bought. So I just decided to go in & knife everybody to p*ss them off. I go like 6-11 every game now & my K/D has dropped from 2.0 to like 1.7 already. haha. I simply don't care about this title though.

Yeah, it is no fun creeping around every corner looking for campers. Most of my deaths are either people spawning behind me or people pre-aiming at a doorway or corner. I know how to counter these tactics, but it gets dull in a hurry.

I guess since I figured out pretty quick for me that this feels a bit like classic Counter Strike (pre 2005) with lots of perks.

I use TBx12's and I have the perk that amplifies foot steps. That helps a lot and also being sneaky and throwing grenades in rooms you are not sure about.

Been playing more lately (Dom) and my KDR has been going up. Running amplify, steady aim, blast shield, dead silence, and the wildcard/random perk that takes up 1 point. Very rarely come in less than first place on my team.

Had to really change up my play style than how I ran in other CoD's. The maps really push people to camp. And I'm not talking about people that are actually holding down an objective I'm talking about the people that sit in random corners all over the map for no reason.

I've only found 1 config that works decent for me in this game:

I call it my Ninja class (basically stealth)

Honey Badger with red dot (prefer it) and grip
Perks: Maraton, Stalker (got to pre-aim around corners to stand a chance against campers), Takedown (1 point and keeps people from knowing where you are), Dead silence (no brainer), Incog. I also use sitrep a lot and use another point somewhere else over incog, but got sick of being picked off by campers half way on the other side of the map.

The problem with this class is you don't dare get into long range engagements. That's hard to do on some of the maps.

I just don't get the direction they went with this game. It seems they wanted to slow things down and make it more tactical... well, there's a fantastic game for that already called Battlefield (just for the record I play both a ton). The only reason there's a lot of action in this game is because of the awful spawns.

I'm sick of the honey badger. More people use the honey badger than any gun. It's like people don't know that there are other guns in the game.

I basically don't run silencers at all anymore. Yeah, it makes the game harder. But it also makes some campers bite and come to you instead of staying in their nest. I put on the honey badger a few nights ago and got a KEM the 2nd game I played with it. It is dumb how silencers barely change the stats on these guns.

What do I run nowadays?

Vector with Muzzle Break and Red dot
Ready up, marathon, agility, focus, dead silence, and either amplify or steady aim.

Run in like D-Day. A lot of games I die a s*** ton but I still have the most kills by far. I don't care anymore. I'm going to flucking rush in recklessly if it's the last thing I do. BANG BANG SHOOT EM UP.

This caffeine got me crazy.

This is my other class, typical for what I have run in past COD games:

Remington with red dot and grip
Perks:
Ready up, Marathon, Stalker, Quickdraw, Focus

Basically a rush class but with an AR instead of an SMG.

When I run this class, I can usually go positive in k/d, but only by a few. I call this my kill trade class.

I always had a "ninja" class in past games but was able to do well with non-stealth classes. In Ghosts though? It seems you show up on the radar and you are dead. You end up kill trading. Kill, die, spawn, rinse, repeat.

Played late last night and got into a hacked lobby somehow. All the Dom flags did not show up so you had no idea which team had each flag, every player (even teammate) had the enemy name tag above them so you did not know who was teammate or enemy, and my gametag was not on the leaderboard

I just finished the campaign on this game last week. I understand the cool thing these days is to hate on COD, while it sells 20 million copies....but I actually enjoyed the campaign. To be honest, visually, the campaign looked great. Much better than the multiplayer. There wasn't necessarily a great story, but I found it fun. Lot's of shooting, using the dog, rappelling, space, water, you name it. It was just good fun game play. It's not Operation Flashpoint or ARMA, but the important thing here is that I found it fun. I am actually excited to play the next campaign for this series.

campaigns have always been fun (except MW3). thats not the part people hate on lol

Tried playing yesterday, and quit after a couple of rounds, yep, just as I remembered, this game is pure trash.

I'm the opposite of most. I find the single player to be dull, while for some reason the multiplayer is still fun. Granted I don't play it a ton, but it is still good for some mindless fun.

It is double xp right now. Played a bunch yesterday had some good matches. Play nothing but Dom. About to play some more today. Only have one prestige left after this one I'm around 40 now on the 2nd to last prestige.

I personally felt like the campaigns weren't that fun since World At War honestly. It's the same tired linear levels with cliche scripted action sequences more like a movie now instead of a videogame over & over with every single Call of Duty. How many times can somebody fall down in the Call of Duty campaigns or dangle over a teetering cliff & somebody reaches their hand down & pulls them up? Does anybody remember when Call of Duty was an actual war game instead of a linear movie? You know, they used to bring WWII vets in to help design the game & learn actual war concepts? Now they bring in Snoop Dogg & Kevin Spacey to help out. Catering to their audience I suppose.

I still miss when Call of Duty used to be like this: (go to 3:45 on...)

Been playing a lot on this game for past few days because of double EXP. Some matches I had fun. Some make you want to pull your hair and say "Bull-!!!" So yeah....

I agree, part of why I stopped playing the games after WaW. I was really just in them for the campaigns. I think WaW's campaign was the best though. So good.

What the?! A while ago in a matchmaking, there's a person on other team that I can't, literally, kill! He was stand right in front of me, like 2 feet away, and I shoot him. I shot him about 5 or 6 times and he didn't get damaged! He was just standing around and then ran around. Is this glitch? Oh man... I only got 4 kills in that match. This is the first time I see anything like this.
