I will admit to trolling "gamers" who think the PS4 can somehow muster better graphical games over the PC knowing the hardware can't hope to compete with it. ;) But that's not the console (or game) itself. Ironically only PS4 owners have declared me trolling the consoles.. I've never once heard of an X1 owner doing the same. That says something about the PS4 owners.. :p

The placebo effect that was mentioned earlier. Some people will see the visuals as being the same as the reveal even if they're not.

I see a downgrade. But Val has a point. I would like to see the cutscenes compared to the trailer.

I think the game looks good even with the funky enemy design. It looks more like Kings Field that Fromsofts latest games.

Its more powerful then many pc tools give it credit for.
Why would fans of a over 40% weaker console try and argue this?

Well flynn would but hes a exception ;)

It's not that they wouldn't argue. I think they realize that it's a moot point to compare X1 games to the PC games. Something we have yet to see the PS4 owners conclude.. ;)

Xbox owners are resigned to the fact that their console is in last place when it comes to graphics. Only the PS4 can challenge the master race for the next couple of years.

Its not with the PS4 and we know the PC will be chasing the standards that will be set by the PS4 as usual :)

Its funny the 40% gpu compared to xbox is the only performance stat that matters to you. Meanwhile both consoles are the most underpowered consoles of all time, but as long as ps4 tops xbox that's all that matters.

Everything is outdated as soon as its released.
Both consoles aren't close in power just as long as you understand this its all good.

Nah 360 was a beast for awhile, even ps3. I think 40% is pretty pathetic, it would need to be 100% or more for me to be impressed, even then its difficult considering 100% more than xb1 is kinda lame.

I didn't ask you to be impressed but 40% or more of a power gap is a significant one.

Call them the fans of the standard barrier as we know which format will be the home of the best looking exclusives....for a few years at least.

It is calibrated. I haven't seen many 30fps vs 60fps games at all. Less and less too.

Is noticeable but nothing amazing at all, I've seen 900p vs 1080 on a couple different xb1/ps4 games, seemed very slight unlike 720p vs 1080p

Its very noticeable the better the display the more its evident.
Of course 1080p vs 720p is a bigger jump but that doesn't change the fact that 720p vs 900p|900p vs 1080p are noticeable as well.
 
Val, you happen to sleep with a body pillow with a Playstation logo printed on it, by any chance?

Especially when considering it launched at $100 less too. PS4 offers the best performance/price ratio. The past 2 months X1 have also reached this level but it sounds like in January, it's going back down a bit again.
 
I think both $ony and MS are dumping their holiday deals and bundles after the year is over.
 
I wouldn't knock out the X1 just yet. It does have an extra boost in CPU performance and that mattered in some multiplat games IIRC.

If you're not neck and neck in sales after two years (which the XB and PS4 are not), you're not going to become the industry leader in year three. It just doesn't happen in this industry. It never has and it never will.

If the Xbox doesn't catch up to the PS4 this year, then the war has been all but won by Sony. With the amount of disadvantages Microsoft has going into 2015, I just don't see how it's possible.

Will still be a great system no doubt, but it won't be the industry leader.

Well, industry leader or not.. I guess we are all just wanting to play stellar looking games. If the X1 ends up being less of a bottleneck because the CPU frequency boost, then devs may have more room to at least have the X1 games playing at more stable framerates.. which a lot of people are wanting these days.

It really only matters to fanboys. I'm sure MS would like to have the stature of industry leader, but as long as they are making money- and they are doing better than last gen- then I doubt they will lose too much sleep. On the upside, being down just means they will try harder, and that is a good thing.

Ehhh…the PS2 benefitted from being far and away the market leader. So did the SNES. So did the original PlayStation. When you have a clear and away leader in this industry, you get a killer console.
