This is coming out Tuesday, right?

So my question is, I have Destiny 2 on my Xbox. I have not bought a single DLC. If I buy this new release, does this include everything that I have missed?
Yes.(Legendary Edition)

Yes.(Legendary Edition)

I just have Destiny 2 standard edition and I haven't bought any DLC. But will buying this Forsaken give me everything I have missed plus all the new stuff?

No, Curse of Osiris and Warmind are separate. I think you need both DLCs to get Forsaken.

So if I wanted the content from day one, I have to buy Destiny for $60, then buy Curse of Osiris, then buy Warmind, then buy Foresaken? That is a lot of damn money. So I can't even buy Foresaken without going back and buying those other two DLCs.

I guess I don't understand how this Destiny IP works.

They are never consistent with their DLC. Some are really small (Osiris), some are decent (Warmind), but supposedly Forsaken is really major.

Basically they are going Games as a Service. Forsaken is $40 alone plus there are 3 more DLCs coming with a season pass that is I think $60.

Definitely not cheap. Basically Destiny 2 is a game you want to either play a ton or just wait for a sale.

Here's the roadmap of everything.

So why do they have a Destiny 2? Wouldn't they just have Destiny 1, and then do it as a GASS and add all the stuff that they added from day one and keep going?

So if I invest in ALL of the above, and then next year they release Destiny 3, then all of that content is useless because everyone moves on to Destiny 3 :(

A lot of people wanted them to just build on D1. It is good for people who play a ton, as the content keeps coming and there's less slow times, but it is a lot for people who don't play a lot.

The thing is the people that play Destiny want a ton of content and they want to grind.

I play D2 quite a bit and I just hit 385 last week, and there's still a ton of quest items I haven't done. I know I'll never have everything or be a top end player, but that's ok. I still love the game.

If you are just playing the campaigns and that's it though I definitely wouldn't bother until they go much cheaper. $100 can seem insane for a year's worth of content, but I'll put hundreds of hours into this easily.

Understood. Now that I know what their INTENT is, I can make a better decision. I feel like I want the content, but for down time between big releases of other games.

They kinda want to be like WoW?

A lot like WoW, really more like Diablo. Playing through content over and over in order to get more loot. There's RPG-ish elements to it for sure but not as much as true RPG games.

What it is is a time sink. I have 276 hours in D2 already. https://www.wastedondestiny.com/search/kerosene31

What sucks is I have less time for other games.

Thank you for all that. I think I am going to pick up the content, because I really do like the game, contrary to what others say about Destiny.

No problem! I was utterly lost in the first year of D1. The game changes so much over time. At launch D2 was completely different.

It really is a great game. What I like is there's a grind, but you don't have to keep up with everyone else. In Division 1, I would go in the PVP area and just get owned by people with way more time than me. D2 never really does that. It never punishes you for playing other games and/or having a life.

I have no desire to play PVP. I love the co-op stuff and joining others with incoming missions and campaign. Working together is great.

The hilarious thing about D2 is the reasoning Bungie gave for its creation. They said they learned a lot from D1 and felt they needed a fresh start start bto rectify the issues D1 had. The reason that is funny is cause D2 was worse than D1, they didn't learn jack s***...and now they are reversing D2 to be more like D1.

s*** is hilarious.

Is the only way to by Forsaken on XB the $60 bundle or the $100 bundle? I thought it was $40 alone but can't find it.

I found it. You have to purchase it from inside the director.

If you do a heroic adventure on Mars from Ana Bray (only works here) you have a high chance for an exotic. Now it is an old exotic but it will have new random rolls on perks.

The adventures are easy to solo if you are higher level.

Is there a certain light level I should be at for the Osiris and Warmind expansions?

I picked up all the DLC on PS4 and am getting toward the end of the campaign with my first character.

Warmind is like 310. You should be fine with Orisis.

Gambit is fun. A little frustrating right now as people don't know what they are doing. It isn't hard, but read a quick guide before going in. There's a few little things people need to know.

Save your supers for invading or being invaded. People come through at level 600 so they wreck people right now. A super shuts them right down.

Don't need to read anything. The mode is very very simple. Kill stuff, pick up motes, bank them. The game even tells you everything you need to know.

Gambit is alright, though. Nothing mind blowing. Would have been nice if it had more than just kill enemies, though.

You'd think, but it is amazing how many people bank 4 motes, or run around with the announcer telling them that they have enough to summon the boss.

I like the mode, I think it is simple enough to pick up, but will have some strategy too. Timing is huge so when to use your super, how to balance your team, should be fun.

I'm thinking you have two rushers up close, with two sitting back with scouts keeping an eye on the back. I can see a lot of ways to do it.

I like that it brings reloading perks and such into things. You want a fast time to kill, but in a different way from PVP. You can't have a slow reloading gun.

I was running Arcturus Rig on my Titan with two Auto Rifles (Suros seems great again) and it was a blast.

More fun than PVP which neither of us seem to like at all. If we both agree totally, it must be really bad! :)
