The poblem is X1 and PS4. You can't give X1X owners an advantage in a competitive PvP game. All console versions must be the same across the platform.

And siknce one of their goals is a seamless transition and shared experiece across PvE & PvP then MP will be reestricted to what PvE can do.

Technically I have no doubt all the current gen systems could run MP at 60fps.

Yup, and unfortunately the X1 is holding back all consoles and PC because it's the weakest. Look at PUBG, it's going to suck on console because the X1 is holding it back at 30fps just like Destiny 2. Real oversight on Microsoft's part, trying to break down walls and killing off generations but still supporting a box that struggles to do 1080p/60fps.

Sorry but no. If anything is holding it back it is the PS4. It has the weakest CPU this gen and we know CPU limitations is why the game is 30 fps.

Seems self explantory...but basically once you start some activities you won't be able to change weapons or gear. You will be stuck with what you started with.

I would imagine these activities will be heroic strikes, Nightfall, Raid, and PvP modes like Trials of the nine and maybe Iron Banner.

You could have meant that a certain activity couldn't be started unless you had certain loadout.

Any explanation from them on why they will be locking loadouts for some activities? I just don't get that.

I have to say, some of these recent announcements aren't exactly filling me with confidence that the game will be an improvement on D1

I don't know Bungie's exact reason beyond the fact that they love using modifiers for their content. The Skulls you could activate in Halo were a similar design. Bungie did the same for Destiny with Nightfall/Raid modifiers for extra burn damage and death penalties. This seems to be a design ethos for Bungie and I can't say I've always been a fan of the restrictions they seem to like to shove on their players.

No reason given.

I don't get it either, but they do seem to be trying to limit freedom and make you play more in the way they want.

So far it seems Destiny year 3 will play better than Destiny 2.
As negative as I have been about a fair few of the changes it really isn't something you can gauge until you play it..or see how it plays through out all the activites. We will have a better understanding of how plays once the beta hits. We have to remember the game is built with these fundamental systems in mind.

Having said that my opinion on no perk rolls wont change. It is s*** and a step backwards, end of imo. Same goes for the new weapon slot system and loadout locks.

I was reading that they want to make the end game content more "difficult", so this could be why (not a good reason, but a reason).

It wont though. all it will do is force the community to enforce everyone brings certain weapons. Whicch is funny cause Bungie claimed they hated that gally became a mandatory weapon.

Loadout locks don't increase difficulty. They stifle fun, varity, and experimentation. They already resricted loadouts with the new gun slot system. So now you will have 2 layers of restriction.

It's a brilliant design decision. They'll remove one layer of restriction with the first major full priced DLC, modify the second somewhat with the second major full priced DLC, and then claim to have fixed it in the third but slip in another change that messes it up worse, but, hey, Destiny 3 is coming out soon and we hear you and it'll be fixed, honest, in the next game.

IGN have thir PvP contrl vids up.

To me it looks like the future based COD games.

Everything is simplified. Movement is now turbo mode. Warlock has blink, expect nerfs early on lol. Guardians seem like bullet sponges. Very little happens. Supers take an age to fill. Just seems like a run of mill run and gun FPS.

Glad to know that the dumbing down of the PVE has all be worth it. :smash:

Pachter says PS5 in 2019, that means 2021...I like that guy, though (not pachter, the youtube guy)

Is it just me or does the Hunter seem totally wortless now?

The Warlock has AOE heal & Weapons of light. A worthy edition to any group or activity.

The Titan has a mobile shield with high damage attacks and has Ward lf Dawn. A worthy edition to any group or activity.

The Hunter has what? As far as can tell you can't even go invisible with Arcblade any more. The Gunslinger 6 shot set up is going to need to do massive boss damage.

Hunters always get the last laugh.

PS: You can start pre-loading the D2 Beta.

How? On ps4? I have the Digital deluxe version preordered.

edit: nevermind, found it on the PS4 store page. I can never find anything in the actual console menus.

Yeah. You have to go look for it on bungie.net. They don't email you.

Pre-ordered XBox One version to try out the Beta. Amazon already sent the code, redeemed Amazon's code on Bungie. They gave me another code and I redeemed on XBox.

I'll try it out to see if I like it, but currently not planning to buy it.

Got my beta code for XBO.

Have another activation waiting to be redeemed to try it on PC when that drops in August.

Do I need a keycode if I preordered? I got the download on PS4 so I think I am all set. Are more people jumping on Xbox instead of PS? (not to turn thread into console wars, just curious which way people are going).

It's just a preference for me, but I think there's plenty who play on PS4 too.

Pre ordered at Amazon, got PS4 code, cancelled order. Will play this POS on Tuesday and see how it is.
