So...we finally got to see weapon perk layout and it seems. there is still a small degree of choice. You get 3 sights, 2 slot two perks and then a single third perk. The intrinsic perk of the gun is actually random.

Weapon mods - You get a shader mod, a gun mod(still no clue what these do) and on elemental weapons you get an elemental slot, which would suggest being able to change elemental type.

Sounds interesting. I'm thinking a gun mod is just that. Extended mag, long barrel, short barrel, etc

Having selectable element damage would be a fantastic idea.

Seems like a good compromise. Guns still have some variability, yet hopefully most are still somewhat useful.

I hopefully get a little time in the PS4 beta today.

The reason I doubt that is because the intrinsic perks offer that kind of thing. I doubt they will have 2 things doing the samething.

It's only a good compromise if there are lots of both intrinsic perks and wdapon mods. If they only have 12 total then it does nothing in the long term.

I'm thinking the perk will be your Firefly or One Man Army stuff and the gun mods will be as I said. Then will potentially selectable element damage.

That would be a huge over haul of the guns and if that is what they have done, I'm very egar to try it out because I like how it sounds.

It's probably not that though. Because that would be a good fun change and Bungie don't do good or fun changes.

The intrrinsic perks are not like fire fly. One of the perks is called Agressive and gives high impact with high recoil. Another one gives deep ammo reserves and faster loading.

They, for the most part, effective the wdapon in a way that you see from typical mods, like range, stability, impact, ammo amount, etc.

Bungie.net just crash. i can't log in

I got 5 hours before I get home to play. have fun guys

I'd much rather play this on PC but haxxors.

Yep, Bungie doesn't even do anything about the people using DDOS attacks in Trials on console now. No way they keep up with the PC hackers. I'm sticking to console.

I played the beta on my PS4 pro and I like it so far. Looks very nice and the 30 fps feels smooth all the time (at least so far).

It is still way early, but I think the weapon category changes will work out. It didn't feel like the special weapon fest like D1 that would instantly turn me off. The movement speed is just toned down a touch, which was needed. I actually got ammo for a shotty and charged someone from not that far away, but they gunend me down with a primary.

Honestly I probably won't put much time in it. Day 1 buy for me. No-brainer. I already have the week after the game comes out off of work :)

Watched some PS4 footage. Looks alot like Destiny 1. Not sure what I was looking for.

Story mission is great, PVP still blows, and abilities take way too long to recharge. You can go a full match without getting a super.

So it would seem there are no weapon mods in D2. The 3 boxes under weapon mods are, from left to right, Infusion, Elemental Mod, Shader. That is it.

Me neither. It is sequel. A lot has changed though.

My biggest positive has to be the sound. It sounds so much better than D1. All the guns seem to nice crisp distintive sounds, the elemental weapon sound different to kinetic weapons. Oh and that Arcstrider lightsaber-esque sound is sweet.

The weapon sounds are significantly worse than Destiny ones as are the reloading sounds.
But the surround sound affects are greatly enhanced with the positional sounds(especially in the opening story mission)

Visually is improved and is real colorful but has 2 be running on base PS4..ie not Pro enhanced?

Beta is good but needs work.

You think soundsare worse? To me it is the only positive I can find.

You say the beta is good but from the feedback I have read it seems the opposite is true...especially as far as PvE goes. Bullet sponge enemies. Weak Weapons. Power weapons are not close to living up to the name. Power ammo is way to infrequent. Supers are weak and take an eternity to fill up. The strike is too simple and lacks interesting mechanics like we see in some current strikes, like Nexus Mind with the VOG relic and cleansing pits.

Going by the majority of feedback I have read it seems D2 is 3 steps backwards.

Oh they do sound worse as does the weapon reloading.
You will see,well hear :)
PVE played great IMO but the strike was meh.

PVP needs work....

-Heavy weapon ammo can't be shared when accessed (wth?)
-Heavy weapons aren't as powerful as before/TTK is a bit longer across the board which sux IMO
-4vs4 isn't likely to be changed but I am mentioning it anyway.
-Supers take way to long to fill up.

So yeah like I said its good but needs work.

Yeah supers and even your grenade take forever to charge. That seemed way off, especially in PVE. Hopefully that is something that changes as you level up. Long waits between supers and grenades are going to make PVE less interesting.

level up? You are 200 light already. how high are you expecting it to go?

Other previews had it to 260. I'm just not assuming that the number means anything in beta. They obviously want people to play without needing to grind yet.

What other previews? Everything I have since the reveal has been 200.

I remember reading it somewhere. This is beta... people are freaking out over potentially nothing. There are no armor modifiers right now either.

Everyone is griping about the cooldowns too. Something easily adjusted.

That's why honestly I won't play the beta much further. Why bother? This is to test the servers and find bugs. The game will evolve over time just like games like this always do.

No armour modifiers? Resillience on your gear gives more armor.

Easily adjusted? not really. They are as they are cause internal testing deemed it balanced for PvP. It isn't likely to change much.

I have to say I've enjoyed what I have played. The game feels much smoother. The weapons sound great and there are a few of them to try out which is good.
Is there no way to replay the story mission? I don't see anything in the Game Director
