Welcome to the Gally club! Assume the position for initiation. :hehe:

Enjoy it before it gets nerfed into oblivion. Also, I swear anytime I equip the Gally I can't find any purple ammo.

I've never gotten one from a legendary either.

Since I hooked up my new router on Friday I have not had one disconnect. I also didn't have to mess around with port forwarding or dmz to get my X1 nat to be open I just plugged it in and it worked great.

We are less than two weeks away from The Taken King, has anybody changed their mind on purchasing or not?

No, but I've completely lost interest in it. Their previews showed that they making more bad moves again.

I agree in the main, but some stuff does look pretty sweet. Court of Oryx looks and sounds pretty awesome. Plus, the new balancing should hopefully make crucible a more varied and fun activity.

I've gone from a maybe to a probably less. My only real concern is how many games are coming out soon (for me, 2 other huge ones on the same day as TTK).

All my weekend Destiny time is going to move to NHL once it releases. All my real world friends get it

I'm looking forward to the crucible getting more balanced (frack you thorn users), but Halo 5 mp might pull me away eventually.

the problem, menace, is that this game is mainly a co op game. You need enough friends to get the most enjoyment out of it. The court of Oynx is good but you will need friends to do it. Hoping that randoms will come to your aid when you are alone is going to be tough. I am mainly a single player gamer but because of destiny I have many people on my friends list. Unfortunately, only a few are people I play with regularly.

I will still purchase the game but I am a little concern.

Its a legit concern. Bungie keeps introducing new co-op content which is great. But they don't address the fundamental problem of getting people together. Matchmaking for everything may not be the solution but what I don't understand is why Bungie doesn't at least introduce a way for players to put up a flag that says what event they are willing to participate in while at one of the social areas. This would really make the social areas social.

I'm really looking forward to TTK. I can't wait to get back into the groove of Nightfalling for that anticipation of sweet loot, the thrill of smashing through the new Raid and the fun that the Court of Oryx looks like it will offer. But unfortunately it also looks like I'll have to rely on LFG heavily to participate in those events with regularity. I'm hoping to game with some of you guys that are on my friends list. But schedules will differ which means LFG will be the only other option.

In a way I get why there's no matchmaking, but then we end up at a site like LFG and get whatever we get anyway. Why not just include matchmaking?

We all know what happens when you randomly get bad players. I tried to hit a 28 strike and got paired with morons who couldn't even stay in the same area.

By now though most players seem pretty good. People still playing the game at this point for the most part have put some serious time into it and aren't just people casually playing.

I don't have many friends who play Destiny and those that do don't mesh with my schedule/time zone.

You don't even need a traditional matchmaking system. All we need is an area, like the tower, with some form of communication where we can set these things up in game.

I think it does not need match making. What it needs is a guild hall or raid hall. Someplace you go when you are playing and enter that you are available to play and it gets picked up from there. Basically something like LFG but as part of the game mechanics.

Oh snap. Just said basically the same thing.

That is sort of how it works/or did work in Stars Wars the old republic. You entered the raid space entrance and then you could communicate via text with other gamers to get a group going.

Yeah, an area would be fine as well. A waiting area for each activity would be cool. Proximity voice chat in those areas would be great too. Just finding people who have a mic and will use it would be a huge help in reducing the amount of bad teammates.

On X1 I'm shocked by how little mic chatter I hear in any game. It is like dead silence out there.

No point chatting to randoms nowadays. Back in the day you could do it and have a blast, but today it is usually more trouble than it is worth.

I think everyone shares your feelings on chatting. I never hear people.

Xur is selling the Saint 14 today! I can finally get one. It sounds like it is great for both pvp and pve.

Its a great helmet for PvE but not for PvP. You won't find most players stepping into the bubble and a super can burst the bubble. Defender class isn't as useful as the Strike for PvP in my opinion.

So starting on the 8th the new stuff will go into effect.

Also you'll be able to get rep with the gunsmith on the new guns! Your marks will switch giving you a week to earn 200.

As promised, full patch notes will be revealed next week. Based on this preview, our Live Team has some last minute suggestions for how you might best spend your final moments in Year One:
  • Complete those Year One Bounties
  • Don’t delete characters or dismantle items just yet
  • Try the Year One campaign again
  • Jump into the Crucible for some new action
  • Try your beloved Auto-Rifles again
  • Destroy remaining Wolf Packs and loot their chests for Ether Keys
  • Complete your House of Wolves Grimoire as it applies to hunting in the wild
  • Complete your Moments of Triumph [time extended – read below]
Got it? Good. You have approximately three days from the time that this blog article became a thing to make good on your last milestones of action and adventure. Gather ye Spinmetal while ye may!

That's a good point, I do use striker more in pvp, except sometimes in control.

What’s leaving Destiny when you download the 2.0 update:
  • Vanguard & Crucible Marks: Activities where you previously earned Vanguard/Crucible marks will now grant Legendary Marks. On Tuesday, your current Vanguard/Crucible marks will converted into faction commendations. [Update: This change takes effect on 09/15]
  • The Elder Cipher will no longer drop upon completion of the Skolas Challenge Arena in the Prison of Elders. The Exotic items offered with the Elder Cipher will now have a chance to drop from the Prison of Elders Treasure Chest.
