DF Titanfall BETA Tech Anlysis X1/PC

Did you forget which thread you were in? It's specifically about X1 and PC comparison lol...
Not really. But lets be honest here; PC will always beat out consoles. To even compare them regardless if we are talking about the same game, is r******d. Its literally a pointless topic as the end result usually ends up the same.

That's not the point, the Xbox One cannot run a game at 1080p which has very light horsepower requirements which is a testament at how slow the Xbox One really is. The source engine is 10 years old at this point and it shows when you play the game.
But in fact, it can run games at 1080p. Maybe not in the case for Titanfall (for whatever reasons they are) but it certainly can make it happen

What games run in native 1080p on Xbox One that aren't basic arcade games? Not BF4, Not CoD, not Ryse, not Titanfall, not AC4, MGS Ground Zeros, none of the large titles. This is probably the least graphically impressive one/ least demanding that is running on a 10 year old engine and it still cannot run at 1080p. Not saying the Xbox One won't have large titles running in 1080p but this is not looking good so far when PS4 is running the multiplats at a higher res/higher frame rate such as Tomb Raider (60fps on PS4 vs 30 on Xbox One)

Forza 5, Fifa, Sniper Elite 3.

The X1 can and does run games at 1080p natively, contrary to what you hear on the internet.

It is just a little harder to develop on so early games haven't looked quite as good. The PS3 had the exact same thing back in the day.

but your question was which games run at native 1080p? TR is one, Forza is another, MGS too NBA 2K does as well and there are others on the way. Now I dont know about some of you but if you look at the big picture, the X1 can in fact run games at 1080p--maybe not all but their there. I think some people are just seeing what they want to see and ignoring other facts. Again, what the reasons are for some games not running native at 1080p is beyond me. Im not displeased either way, whether a game runs at native 1080p or 900p or 720p. There's just a bigger picture that I see versus those who choose to only whore resolutions to draw a line in the sand. When it comes to PC and console match-ups, its really a no brainer.

EDIT: Eventually this resolution charade will end as it becomes increasingly difficult to avoid the forest for the trees. No one really knows why certain versions of games run at one resolution or the other aside from the developers themselves. Those of us stating that its pathetic that one console cant run a particular resolution or FPS better than the other, can only state as much from a user perspective. IMHO thats just personal opinion and not hands on experience with the actual hardware. Experience always beats out opinion in my book and many others.

Ultimately, if I look at a game and like what I see, than thats all I care about. All this technical hoopla is irrelevant as its not my forte. You dig?

MGS does not run at 1080p. Tomb Raider does not run at 60fps such as the PS4 version, seemingly there is always a sacrifice even compared to the PS4 counter part.

Then why are you posting in a tech comparison thread?

Then why are you posting in a tech comparison thread?
Because I can? Why are you posting here? f*** all!

Some of you guys are feeling a bit too entitled with your opinions and reasons as to why someone should be allowed to post in a specific forum. I'll post where I please. As long as Im not trolling, no harm no foul. I have an opinion just like you, genius. Get over yourself....

Whats funny is I'm posting with you online and not liking it, and would do the same if you were in my face and didnt like it. You wouldnt change a thing regardless on a forum or face-to-face breh... May as well get over it and acquire some coping skills (or put me on ignore, your choice). People have differing opinions. I can accept yours without agreeing with it.

You're way too passive aggressive, calm down.

Ontopic: I honestly don't see the resolution increasing for the final product to 900p to be honest.

Sorry, but that doesn't fly when this game is "XB1 Exclusive" and was in development for what? 3 years? At least 1 of which was directly with X1 dev kits in hand?

It's a poor showing, no matter what angle you view or spin it from.

Again, what the reasons are for some games not running native at 1080p is beyond me.

They're not beyond those of us that have been paying attention. The reason(s) the X1 can't do native 1080p is because they wanted 60fps, period. 60fps was their goal, to reach that they had to lower the resolution, simple as that.

Now go ahead, like a good little MS apologist and bring up Forza, because that game has a lot going on in it, maybe even as much as Titanfall or Tomb Raider or MGS or....

LMAO! This from the guy who joined TXB in the last year of it's life and told those of us with 10 years invested in the place to leave because it was an Xbox forum.

I honestly think you need a nice long vacation from this place, preferably at your local psychiatrists office.

I'm not trying to hear all that, Ketto.

But it has to stop somewhere. Why ask why Im posting in a particular thread as if I shouldnt have an opinion? I post here for the same reasons others post here: We all love video games, and we all have an equal opinion. Bottom line. If ol' boy got problems with that, he needs to place me on ignore or acquire coping skills in which it seems he lacks immensely.

ON TOPIC:

I was always under the impression that Titanfall would be 720p to begin with.

You posted in a tech specific comparison thread and then you said you don't care about technical mumbo jumbo, this is the wrong thread for you be in. I don't see why you don't see there is a disconnect there. There are other Titanfall threads on here.

This.

I heard the 360 is 720p, so I guess you don't need a Xbox One then?

I mean you sound like you care way more about the gameplay than the resolutions so the 360 still seems good enough for you. Save the $500 to buy some games for the 360 instead. The new titles are still coming out for it.

i have my pc connected to my surround sound through an hdmi cable and a usb headset plugged into my computer

Then your audio setup is incorrect. Go to your voice settings and make sure they're correct. Stereo Mix will also help channel out the audio to your speakers / voice to headset. Just go to your device configuration.

Far from the wrong thread for me to be in as I DETERMINE what thread I need to be in. You've really got me f***ed up, "mate".

I shared my opinion on the topic at hand without trolling and kept it beyond civil. Again, no harm, no foul. Even if my opinion is Lam en's, its still an opinion either way--just like yours.. Thats all...

Again, worry about the console you have and let me worry about those I have or will have. Im still going to share my opinion and stay within the zone while doing so. If I felt I need the 360 version, thats precisely what I'd buy--but its not. You dig? Thanks..

Anyhow....

For those with PC's how does Titanfall look in 4K? Does the resolution make that big of a difference in the experience?

I'm sure it'll look good, as good as increasing resolution will help....but I doubt it'll make much of a difference though. The game is using last gen visuals, the textures are lackluster, etc. increasing the res will only....increase the res. The textures are still lacking, so it's not like it'll make the game suddenly look next gen.

Rumor is the 360 version is surprisingly strong, that may be why they haven't shown it yet. It's not a great looking game even in the 4k PC shots that someone posted.

Hey, just trying to help out, you know.

I've been playing the beta for the last day on PC and it is great at max settings and the highest AA settings but if the Xbox One cannot run this at 1080p 60 FPS and 4xMSAA there is a problem, the game is based off a modified Source engine and cards on the PC as low and old 6970 were running the game at 60FPS at 1080p. What a pathetic showing by Xbox One.

The Xbox One has a Radeon 7790, and you can see where that lands you on your chart. A Radeon 7790 would run 1080P 4xMSAA Titanfall at about 30-40fps.

No one is complaining about your opinion, they're simply point out how utterly ironic it is for you to post in a thread specifically about the technical merits of the systems only to state you don't care about the technical merits.

And you're so passive aggressive it's not even funny dude.
