DOOM

They must be spending a fortune on advertising. Here in Melbourne, I've spotted two massive cbd billboards, and all the trainstations/tram stops have posters all over the place.
 
This Eurogamer video does a good job at summing up what is good about the campaign. The narrator pretty much had the same experience that I did from playing in the beta. The campaign is what has sold me this game.

It's funny that just a few days ago I didn't think I was going to buy the game, but now that they've released a bunch of single player footage I am beyond pumped lol. It really is going to be a long week and a half. ;)
 
Can't wait for Doom. Looks like it could be the next big thing for shooters. Maybe not Halo, Gears, CoD, or Battlefield but hey. The game looks fun.

I definitely think the SP could best a couple of those games.
 
Watching the sp imo it resembles the classic games more so than any Doom after Doom II(Ultimate Doom equates to an add on). The movement, speed, storytelling, and level design are all done in a way that looks like the natural progression one would expect in a game series. Im excited lol, the mother of all fps has finally returned. :bang:

I'll check this out, but when the price drops. I'm just not seeing $60 value here even with the MP. Not with so many solid games coming out now.
 
To me the gameplay looks a little like Halo 5 with the increased focus on movement and traversing the environment. That kind of gameplay feels a lot more skill based and rewarding than most shooters. I know with Halo 5 it felt great once you got skilled at using boost to dart in and out of cover and get better angles on the enemies.
 
I just noticed that the song in the launch trailer is a remake of one of classic Dooms songs.

As of this afternoon my Best Buy order hadn't shipped, so out of fear of not getting it launch day I cancelled and used the last of my credit to order through XBL. I'm all in now lol, hope it's as good as it looks in the videos!

I got my preorder in last Friday. I might pull an all nighter when it unlocks tonight at midnight.
 
I really hope this game has crazy weapons. Like Turok 2 style crazy.

Early impressions of the campaign are coming in on steam and various forums and they are almost all positive!! Some people aren't too excited about glory kills, and one guy mentioned that the physics can be wonky, but other than that people love the combat, guns, and that the gameplay is challenging but also makes you feel like a badass. I'm even more pumped!!

Played the first level; really enjoying it. Totally feels like old doom but with some new stuff like gun and armor mods, and its very intense.

This is so much better, than i hoped, classic doom! i f***ing love it! This month is bunkers! First The brilliant Uncharted 4 and now this... Just 3 days apart! Im in gaming heaven right now!

Oh btw they have even recreated The original doom, but you have to work Hard to get it ;)

Plays like butter. Its so weird that it looks so damned good, but aiming feels so perfect.

Looking forward to the Vulkan update so I can get this running @75hz with the same fidelity.
