Dreams

Anyone have dreams about their teeth crumbling out, or your tongue coming out? OMG, I HATE IT.

Yup. And every time I have that dream it's not one of the ones I know I;m having a dream. So I'm literally freaking out as if it's real!

Another one I get sometimes is being late for an exam as if I was still in school!

Also, most of my dreams involve the house I grew up in as a a kid! The other homes I lived in when our family moved and my own homes I don't dream about much at all.

I remember I used to always have these dreams where I would be going into an exam without knowing a single answer to any question on it. Freaked me the heck out and then I would wake up and be like "Thank God!"

Yeah those are my least favorite type and as Intellivision said, I rarely realize that it's a dream. When I wake up I'm always checking my teeth. I had a dream the other night that my teeth were falling out, though I could push them all back in place making them alright for a bit. When I looked in the mirror they were like robotic dentures, each tooth was like a little metal tooth all connected together metallic filaments and plates...

It's been a while, but I've have a couple dreams like that.

One theory I read is that in your Brain's Warped Sense of Dream reality, this dream represents change in your life. Supposedly, it's inspired by when we all lost our baby teeth. I'm not sure why it becomes extra horrible in the dream when it all happens at once though.

:really:

Here's one of mine. One of my dream went like this. I was trapped inside of an upstairs room in my house. It was not actually "my house" irl, but in this dream, this house was my house. And I was trapped there by an evil invisible being. The door having a thick aura. But then there was someone there that could possibly help me escape. He told me the only way to escape would be to apparate out of the room and into another place and into another time. The first time I successfully apparated out of the room, I ended up downstairs where my family was and it was two years ago. But since it was my first time, wasn't able to move too far away from the room that I had apparated from, meaning that I still couldn't leave the house and certain corridors of the house were inaccessible. But no matter how what, I always got sucked back into the room in due time. I could not stay from the room for very long. My bond to the room was very strong.

But I better at apparating from the room and traveling further into the house, and eventually, I managed to apparate and completely break free of my tie to the room. The invisible being tried everything to stop me, but I apparated successfully anyways. I appeared downstairs as usual, and I and the boy helping me dashed out the front door without explaining anything to my confused father. For the first time, I could leave the house. We ran down to the shopping district on the pathwalks and we talked some as we ran. I can bearly remember what he said, but at some point, he said something along the lines of "at least I'm not in love with you to the insane extent that thing does." Those aren't his actual words tho. I can't really remember what he actually said, but what I remember was that what he said made me realize that the invisible creature kept me trapped like a doll in a doll house, and I also then realized that he was in love with me after all our struggles together to escape.

After some time of running, we are passing an elementary school or a daycare of sorts when all of a sudden I collapse in a puddle in the street, so weak that I was practically paralyzed and unable to get back up. The dream faded sometime after that when the sun woke me up.

I actually frequently (frequently as in maybe a couple times a year, but it's still recurring which most of mine aren't) have a dream where I'm back in high school and I forgot my locker combination. I'm always just in a hallway in my highschool and everything seems normal and I begin to think "I can't remember my combination!". I then get to the locker and I try a number and it never works.

Sometimes I will have real life deja vu of things that I think Ive dreamt about. Its never anything with importance, or even a whole dream. It feels like just a snippet of a dream Ive had. For years I thought that I was actually seeing bits of the future. Then I read an article about how there is a chemical occurrence in the body that causes a feeling of deja vu.

I can usually realize that I am dreaming. That's the key to lucid dreaming, only its very hard not to wake up when you realize you are dreaming. Ive had dreams of falling, and when I hit the ground Ill bounce. Had a lot of nightmares about being in the ocean surrounded by sharks. Had dreams about being able to fly both superman style, and by cupping my hands while moving my arms in a skiing like motion.

Damn, I had a dream last night that I was going to share...and I already forgot what it was :( I hate that!

I had a weird dream about a childhood friend that I haven't seen since he got married about a decade ago.

I was in his backyard (random ranch type house, not his real house) and he showed me some contraption that looked like an Egyptian sarcophagus but with American Indian carvings instead. It opened up like a cabinet with double doors. Inside was a lever and a big pinwheel. He pulled the lever and instead of the pinwheel spinning, i felt like the whole world including myself was spinning.

Then it was time to go. But before I left, he gave me a wooden rocking chair made out of logs with the bark still on.

I had a dream the other night where I had to find a part for my wife's car. I went to NY City, a whole borough was turned into a walled off junk yard, and snuck in to find the part I needed. I eventually got caught though, however, when I was being interrogated I told the owners that I was trying to get through the city and got lost as I had never been to NY City before. They put me on a crappy subway that ran through the center of the junk yard that ran up to Boston. On the subway back I wake boarded from the last car of the subway. I was getting really mad though as the Charles River was super low and I kept breaking boards on rocks and other junk in the river, as the subway ran in the bottom of the river bed. I ended up waking up before the train got home.

My recurring dream is that somehow I'm back in college (I graduated years and years ago). Somehow I enrolled in all these classes, but never went and never read anything. Exam time comes, and it isn't just that I have no clue about the class, but I don't even know where the rooms are. I freak out and can't figure out why I signed up for these classes to begin with.

Similar to mine.

Teeth crumbling is linked to stress I believe. I often dream about being at school but not being able to remember what lesson I'm meant to be going to.

Used to be able to lucid dream but hasn't happened for a good while now.

I've had dreams similar to this that always feel so real. Back in school, but for some reason it always seems to be high school, and I realize I have a test and know nothing about it at all.

That is some really serious detail that you remembered for that dream. That much detail in my memory is rare.

When i was a pre teen and into my teenage years, I used to dream about flying around my neighborhood. Like Superman style, seeing all the backyards and rooftops.

I miss those dreams actually.

I can usually remember my dreams good and bad really well, funny cause I usually have trouble remembering what I did the day prior...

I dreamt that I was performing surgery on my own brain.

My severed head was on a table with Video screen goggles over my eyes and there was a camera strapped to my body's shoulders and over my neck-stump. This way I could still have my normal Point of View with my head off since my shoulder camera was broadcasting the video to those goggles.

I pealed back some of the skull and started doing cybernetic Robocop like s*** on my own brain. I poked at the grey matter thinkin' "So that's me in there?".

Had a dream last night that I had a fox. He was pretty awesome, but started getting aggressive towards me. I put him outside and said, "You can live out here if you're going to be mean." He came running back to me and was all loving again.

Seeing your memes for the past few months now makes a lot more sense!

Somtimes I dream about finding secret rooms or passages. It would be like if my dream was an experience at a theme park, but get distracted by spotting a barely concealed 'Employees Only' door and walking away to a place to see 'what's really going on here'. Sometimes, I find a crawl space in a house and when I came out the other end, I was in a different house. One time, I was outside and found a tunnel after pushing some rocks apart and crawled out of a ceiling hatch in some kind of building.

It makes me think of the Keymaster in Matrix: Reloaded and the hidden long hallway of doors which are shortcuts between places.

Used to have dreams where my knees hurt and I couldn’t run away. That turned into me not being able to lock my door when people were trying to get into my house. Now, it’s I can’t dial 911 on my phone. Either it won’t work or it’s for so many viruses on it and I can’t access the phone part, as it did last night, or that it will never go through and connect. Weird…

My reoccurring dreams are:

1. There are only a couple of weeks left in the semester in college I realize I haven't gone to class a single day yet
2. I'm in the locker room getting dressed for a big basketball game in high school and I realize I forgot my basketball jersey/shorts

I have the exact same ones. I even know I graduated already, but now I'm worried that this class I registered for is somehow going to take away my diploma.
Then I have my hockey bag all ready for a game and every piece of important equipment is there... except the athletic cup. Now I'm suiting up to play goalie without a cup on. Fortunately I wake up before taking any shots. :surprise:

Mine feel so real sometimes that I wake up and I still have the anxiety a good 5 minutes after I wake up.
