I went with the only logical answer on the poll.

So, How many Battle Royale games/modes do you guys think will get announced/shown for first time this year?

I'm gunna say 15.

They need to have a Battle Royale Battle Royale, where all of the new Battle Royales are thrown into a hopper and people play through them and the last one standing is the winner of epic awesomeness.

That's the free market.

I'm getting pretty interested in hearing about Starfield, now that I've caught up on the rumors/leaks. It will be Bethesda Game Studios first new IP since ... Fallout 3, a decade ago? (If you even count that as a new IP.) And with Bethesda's pattern, it will have a good chance of coming out this fall.

Bethesda's strength is building immersive worlds that are fun to explore. I would love to see them do that in a science fiction setting -- not the apocalyptic, burned-out world of Fallout, but somewhere in space. A different solar system. Alien races. New worlds. New tech.

There really hasn't been a good SF game [in space] for over 10 years. Not since Halo and the first Mass Effect. Andromeda fell flat. No Man's Sky flopped. Destiny is a MP shooter without any real depth in terms of story, lore, exploration, etc.. But Bethesda might be able to do it. They know how to build alien races and cultures (see Morrowind). They know how to build massive, immersive worlds, full of details and lore. They know RPG systems as well as anyone. They can also make it mainstream enough to have a wide appeal and be successful.

They've got enough in the bank to take some risks. And also, they've also been strapped to Elder Scrolls and Fallout for so long, I'll bet their itching to stretch their creative muscles.

Could be good. I hope they stick to their strength and don't make it an online MP-centric game along the lines of Destiny or Anthem.

Que?

Metal Gear Solid V, Nier Automata, Titanfall 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Bioshock Infinite, Dishonored 1 and 2, Dues Ex 3 and 4?

You're right, those do qualify as SF. I wasn't specific enough: I meant SF that takes place in outer space, not games that take place on Earth and mostly involve human beings. I meant games that take place on other planets, in other solar systems/galaxies, and feature lots of alien life and landscapes. That's why I mentioned Andromeda, No Man's Sky, Destiny, Halo, and Mass Effect.

It was pretty obvious what you meant.

Nintendo's plans for E3:

June 12, they will show a video about games coming in 2018, with a spotlight on Super Smash Bros. "Games launching beyond 2018 will be featured at a later date."

This will be followed by three days of Nintendo Treehouse Live, with developer interviews, gameplay, etc.

CDPR confirmed they're showing a new game. Wonder what it could be.

I may be in a minority but I thought MGSV was one of the most overrated games of all time so I wouldn't put it on any list other than a s*** list :)

Is that cyberpunk game meant to be coming this year?

Oh, sure. I was joking about "wonder what it is." It's Cyberpunk. I don't think it's coming this year, though. Next year, probably. This year will be the unveil.

Either that, or it's some stupid Gwent game and a lot of pissed off fans.

36 days away!

BTW, we should have a bet on how many Battle Royale modes get revealed there. My money's on 7!

Microsoft is at a different location.

It's E3, so this one is obligatory.

I'd seen brief clips before, but never all the ineptitude stitched together in one video. It's something else. You will be sucked.

Had to stop watching. That was so bad.

I take it all back, Microsoft's conferences are the best thing ever.
