Microsoft’s exclusives are more convincing than anything Sony has shown on PS4 to date. Killzone is no Halo; DriveClub, now delayed, never looked like measuring up to Forza; and Dead Rising 3 now looks like a smarter bet for open-world mayhem than Second Son.
Even a second-tier title like Ryse makes a stronger case for its host hardware’s graphical capabilities, at least, than anything set for PS4’s launch day
But at last, the next generation is a prizefight again. PS4 has the power and the more attractive price; Xbox One has a more appealing slate of early games and a cloud infrastructure that will have a tremendous bearing on its multiplayer offering. Microsoft has proven it can take advice and Xbox One is better for it, while losing only a little of what made it unique in the first place.
“The platform continues to have the same features that make it great,” says Harrison. “It has the power of the cloud, the Xbox Live service, the largest online gaming service on the planet, and the proven operating system.
“We’ve made some architectural decisions in the way our platform is designed that make it really powerful, particularly around HDMI [in], where we can take a videostream from another device and blend that into Xbox One in a seamless, instant way. All that is going to create a really special platform, and ultimately it’s about the games. And we have the best games.”
I think for many PS4 gamers who pre-ordered a console back in the summer are in for a rude awakening. I bet many have pre-ordered and haven't/won't bother reading sites for updates for X1 and PS4. They made up their mind during the reveals and E3. Although any gamer with a DC or WD pre-order would have gotten news by now. It's nice that MS is finally on the ball, seems like every week they're announcing new/updated features of the XB1. This is prolly the most critical time too, just upon a month from launch, keeping the XB1 fresh in consumers minds is a smart move. Fresh new features, first party launch games that are only getting better and better the more they are shown, the XB1 is beastin. Funny the PS4 came outta the gate swinging, however, it seems to have dropped off the face of the earth lately, nary a peep, it's been all XB1.
The real story will begin once both consoles release. Until then, everything else is relative.
Just because the dog stops crapping in your front yard and craps in your neighbors yard instead doesn't mean that he's now laying truffles.
Edge is what it's always been. Like National Enquirer, and those less reputable pulp weeklies, It's funny, sometime informative, entertaining, irritating and exasperating, but not exactly an ideal venue for serious journalism. Was never aware their reputation was ruined.
A gift of free compost should not be cast aside, lightly.Sure it does, especially if you don't like the neighbors!
Was never aware their reputation was ruined.
When they released that whole "This is your next console" cover with the PS4, even many PlayStation fans considered that kind of unprofessional and sensationalist of them.
Considering Valliance(cutting) put an Edge article as his avatar on TXB(when it was negative X1 news of course) I can't wait to see his response to this. Edge, dat gospel.
I dont recall anyone stating that Sony moneyhatted that article. Sony can barely afford to moneyhat a decent camera. Sssshhhiiiiiat!!More like laughs as it was funny as hell when many of you guys were saying Sony paid em off and they were Sony biased...even after ketto posted them with other consoles besides PS on their covers..and now they are giving XBO some praise and all is good right? LMAO.
I used that cover as a avy because it represents the majority of gamers choice for the next gen...
