Utter drivel and you know it.
Fortnite now created video games according to mainstream people.
You’re so full of s***. I know people that don’t play games that know characters and games series going back for decades.
This post confuses me.
Of course other games had mainsteam cultural impact. It's not surprising that you know some non gamers who knew about certain games.
What I'm saying is that in terms of level of cultural impact, Fortnite has no peers.

The Fortnite crowd IS the Overwatch crowd + COD and Destiny. It's the next thing. That game was huge and everywhere, and I had the same reaction to it as I do to FN.Mario, Call of Duty, and GTA absolutely helped make gaming mainstream in their own way. Overwatch and Destiny I'm a bit more skeptical of.
None of them had nearly the combination of popularity + cultural penetration as Fortnite. Epic Games lifted the entire medium like no other before it.
That's a weird comparison considering those are all different things than a game... revenue per user, lol. They are comparing fractions of pennies for advertising vs microtransations for a game were kids buys friggin dance emoticons and skins, for-crying-out-loud.
Whatever floats your boat, I guess...
It's that damn subscription model! So if revenue per user is the thing, GOTY has to be AutoCAD 2019.
He's a child, we're all trying to rationalize with a child. lol.
Hitting that ignore button and moving on.
