why cant we have sub forms of every game that is going to be out for that month so that way we can keep everything just about that game in that thread? It can create a awesome database for even new members that want to say something to add to this site to increase the popularity?

We already know the Launch titles why not make a sub forms for those games so that they it wont get dumped at the end where then people dont want to go so far back, hate to see 3 of the same game topic.

Since Xbox has its own forum, choosing a tag/prefix is redundent. How do people delete a thread tag/prefix after you posted a thread with one?

Edit: Never mind. Found it under the Thread Tools menu. I was looking in the edit post tools which doesn't you to change the prefix there.

I'll tell you a few things about this forum I really like. They are minor, but they make a significant difference for me.

1. You can edit posts multiple times without having that "edited post" line come up and (imo) make the post look messy. I can never leave my posts alone; I always edit them somehow -- usually to make them clearer. At TXB, if you didn't do that fast enough, you'd get that "edited" line attached, which made the post look crappy. So I would end up reposting the same material, then deleting the original, just to get a version without that "edited" line. Here, I can edit to my heart's content, without having to worry about that stupid "edited" line popping up.

2. You can expand Youtube clips without having to go to Youtube first. Very convenient. I've used that feature several times already.

3. You can just hit "Reply" to include multiple people's posts. You can also do it after you've begun writing your post. Sometimes I'm halfway through my post and I realize I want to quote someone. At TXB, you'd have to open another window, then copy and paste the quoted portion back into your post. Here, I just hit "Reply" and it's automatically inserted.

4. I like to be Alerted when someone has responded to my post. People can respond faster, and it makes it easier to have a back-and-forth. At TXB, people could easily overlook responses, if they didn't visit the thread again soon. Here, they are alerted, so they have a chance to respond if they want to. I make it a point to quote people now, so that they are alerted I've responded to their posts.

5. I like the "like" function. Well, I dislike how it focuses attention on whether other people like your opinion/post, but I do like the fact it is an easy way to indicate agreement or support, when you don't have something to add. The "like" allows them to do this, without cluttering the forum with messages like "This" or "+1" or "lol" or whatever.

Eeesh, I'd hate to be the guy who had to figure out what titles were being released ahead of time each month and create separate subforums for each of them. A lot of them wouldn't get any traffic at all. It reminds me of how Xbox.com used to be, which I thought was a total mess.

Why do we need separate forums for each game? Why isn't a separate thread sufficient?

Agreed. If a thread has enough popularity maybe give it a sticky, but no need for a whole new sub forum.

Can the thread title be visible when you enter a thread?

Ape, you can see it on the tab (if you're using IE, anyhow). You can also see it if you're using UnionXbox or UnionPSN style. I'm not sure if Plainview is working on something more.

Oh, one other thing I like: the way the software saves a draft of your post, as you're writing it. Very handy. For example, if I am on page 2 and have to go back to page 1 to check on something (e.g., who said what), I can do that without worrying that I'll lose what I've written.

Also, someone else pointed out that the "Ignore" function works a lot better here than at TXB. Over there, you'd put someone on Ignore, but you'd still see their posts, because someone else would quote them. Here, even if someone quotes them, you still don't see it. Nice.

I rarely use Ignore myself. I had one user on Ignore at TXB, for about six months. That's about it. But still, for people who find one person particularly annoying, it is a nice feature, especially when it is well implemented.

p.s. And one more plus: You can just cut and paste Youtube links, rather than having to get those tags right. Much easier.

Just a couple of things I have noticed. Many good enhancements have already been made!

1. On the Union Default theme (I happen to like the color scheme best on that one), when I am in a thread I can't find the title of the thread anywhere. On the other themes the thread title appears near the top of the window under the notices.

2. On any of the themes when I dismiss the alert notices by clicking the X, they disappear in that window but as soon as I go to another page they're back. Can't figure out how to permanently dismiss from all pages.

3. The Union Default theme seems to scale the posting frames when adjusting the browser size, but the newer themes seem to have a fixed frame size - so if I go to full screen browsing the frame is centered but small - lots of free space on either side. I prefer the Union Default approach because it makes use of the full browser window size, much better for example when viewing the screenshots thread or reading a very long post full-screen. It makes reading the forums in the Win 8 metro browser very nice and tablet browsing especially is nicer because with the wider spacing it's easier to use the touch interface.

Thanks for all your hard work on this. It's looking good.

1. I'm gonna fix that.

2. Not sure I follow.

3. That's inherit to the style. The UnionVGF styles are fixed width. The Union Default/Mid-Tone are variable widths.

Can't say enough how awesome this forum is shaping up. Again, can't believe how fast you put this together virtually flaw free.

Kudos PV!

At the top of the page, it lists all the shortcuts to the notices you've posted, and then on the "main bar" where it displays the full text of a given notification, there is an X on the right side upper corner. Mouse over it and it says "Dismiss notice". I dismiss all the notices but as soon as I refresh or go to another page they show up again. I was under the impression that it would permanently remove them for me, otherwise what would be the point ...

They should all be dismissed after you x them out. Take a screencap for me? Mine are all dismissed. Anybody else have this issue?

I am using Firefox 24 on XP SP2 right now at work, and they stay gone when I dismiss them.

I've noticed that if you have multiple windows or tabs open with UnionVGF on them, 'Dismiss Notice' does not work properly. You must 'Dismiss Notice' with only one UnionVGF page open, then they will stay permanently gone. I hope that makes sense... (using Chrome here)

BTW, I just thought of something that would be a nice feature...

So, in my browser I usually always have a tab open with my Outlook/Hotmail inbox on it. When I receive a new e-mail, the tab title automatically updates and displays "(1)" in the title, indicating that I have 1 new message waiting (a "(2)" for two new messages, etc.). When I'm browsing in other tabs, the Outlook tab still refreshes on it's own, and it's easy for me to see that I've received a new message with the "(number)" indication, which then prompts me to re-visit the tab to view my new message.

It would be awesome if it could work the same with UnionVGF, with a "(number)" automatically showing up in the tab title when a new Alert comes through, even regardless of if I'm actually in the tab or not.

:bang:

hey how about we get a different label for the fact a lot of members are TXB or something because it seems we got a hand full of new members in here and I want them to know where we came from.

I notice that box that was in the bottom right corner that said how many members the site has is gone. Has this been moved or is it just not here anymore at all?
