Lol no. It's superior in every way to every standard controller ever made. If DS4 is going for $50 now then it should be $10 if you think Elite should be priced as a standard controller.
Used it sparingly for KI and felt it was slightly better than standard controller. As far as Xbox controllers go, the S had the best dpad for fighting games.
Not $150 good.
The DS4 is a GREAT controller more preferred then the standard Xbox One controller but you don't agree with that either lol.

DS4 is poor. Only thing that's good about it is short throw triggers for shooters. Everything else feels like bargain bin parts.
Mine feel great. My sons launch controllers rubber on the analogs wore off and the 1st year batteries died fast but its easily the best standard controller.
You still will have a hard time finding an Elite controller. Apparently large amounts of people feel it is worth $150. You see them going almost double.
Easily the most beautiful and best functional controller I have ever owned in my nearly 40 years of gaming.

The DS4 is great overall, but it kinda feels like the 360 controller now. Which i still love but.. Sony is always a step behind Microsoft. It is what it is. It's good enough, but obviously not the best all around.
Forget the controller though, you should rename the site TeamPlayStation. Think about it. We had TeamXbox while the 360 was knocking it out of the park. Now it's time to get on the Sony hype train and pay tribute.

From my experience with both the PS4 dwarfs the Xbox One in almost everything. So no Val doesn't think its close.
Unless you have little girl thumbs, the dpad is unusable on the DS4. It's awful in design and location. The One's is just awfully designed. The Elite's is a slight step up from the standard only because of the disk attachment. It still sucks.
Enjoyed the op story more than I expected. I guess I was expecting the toxic fanboy ranting typical of this site and the comments follow this thread. Anyway, I would enjoy hearing the ops thoughts on some non-gaming bits like internet browser, YouTube, twitch, tv viewing and maybe a little coverage of messaging/parties if you haven't covered it already.
The X1 elite controller is easily worth the 150$
Best controller ive used, wasnt going to get one until a friend let me borrow one for a week.

The Elite is still going for more than $200 US online and is very hard to find.

The elite was worth every penny for me. People spend tons of money on TVs, sound systems, etc for gaming, why not splurge a little with one of the most important parts of gaming?
The Sony controller isn't bad, but MS just raised the bar first with the default controller (which they spent tons on developing) and now with the elite. After using the elite the default controller feels like a child's toy.

I just want the Elite controller for the rubber grips on the back. That has to be super comfortable to hold. That's the one thing i really like about the DS4. It has a grippy texture on the back of the handles. But the Elite's grip looks much better. Still haven't used an Elite controller yet.
Yeah you can buy 3rd party grips and thumb sticks too. Although that still won't be an Elite controller. Once I used it, every other controller I had became "broken". I just could never go back to a standard controller now.
Plainview......where is part 3! I have talked myself back out of the PS4 purchase again this weekend.....why.....Having used the Elite controller how the fook can I go back to a vanilla PS Dualshock.......
