Gaming Review From PlayStation to Xbox and back. Journey of an Xbox "fanboy" to a two console owner! (Hardware/OS)

DS4 is poor. Only thing that's good about it is short throw triggers for shooters. Everything else feels like bargain bin parts.
The build quality is lousy. Trying a PS4 at a buddy's place, the controller feels like a Fisher Price toy. The light is dumb too. I didn't find the triggers anything great either.

The best part of the controller is the rubber grip feeling, which makes it impossible to slide around, although I don't think I've ever had a video game controller slip out of my palms before anyway.

A non-factor for me when I played it (since I didn't pay for it), but the battery life is supposed to be bad too...... although some people say batches later on improved it I think.

Battery life is atrocious.

I am waiting for part 3 also. Talk about DELAYstation.

We all have those friends

Honestly the Elite controller reinvigorated gaming for me. It made it more fun to attempt to master competitive or difficult games. Once you train your brain to use those paddles, it changes things. I haven't done much with fighting games so can't comment on the D Pad but everything else simply destroys every other controller. It's the single thing that made me cancel my PS4 $300 Christmas bundle off Amazon. I seriously don't want to use another controller. I may give in for MLB the Show but I can't see myself purchasing too many other games on the PS4 because of that controller.

1. Buy adapter that lets you use other controllers on PS4
2. Use Elite controller on PS4
3. ???
4. Profit

Ps4 don't make you pay more for a elite controller.
Neither does Xbox. However if you want a controller with paddles on the bottom and also to be able to customize stick heights and sensitivity then they have an OEM option for people interested in that. Or they can pay the same price and get a razr and of course a scuf.

Has anyone tried the Elite controller on the PS4 with the adapter? One thing I'd be worried about is that the Elite controller has software built in. I modify not only button placement and which commands I want on the paddles but also stick sensitivity. You have to modify trigger sensitivity to use the trigger locks. Is there 3rd party software on the PS4 that allows gamers to tweak all these things?

Its widely considered this gens best controller.

Just because the PS4 is selling better i don't think that gives more votes to the DS4 being better. Obviously it would win a poll because more people have a PS4 but yeah.. I'd say it's a tie. There's things i like about both the DS4 and Xbox One controller. The Elite controller destroys everything though. It's not even close.

Wasn't talking sales With Polls most prefer DS4 I think both offer goodness.

You said it's widely considered the better controller. Not sure how you can prove that without pointing out the fact that it's obviously more popular because more people are using it. The DS4 made more improvements than the X1 controller, because it had to. That doesn't make it a better controller. Sony is still behind the eight ball.

He says so, so it is a fact. Same thing my toddler and Donald Trump do.

it is and if you like I will start listing the polls/threads that its chosen.

I can see the debate between the DS4 and the XBO controller, but not the Elite- It stomps any other controller I've ever used (including the DS4). Period. It's hard to get a metric on that because PS4 owners wouldn't be exposed to it, but there are plenty of articles out there that have said it.

The Elite controller really is the ultimate controller. A bit pricey, but going back suuuucks :D

I don't like it's price or thingys under it.
I read a bunch of people saying things broke easily on the controller and they had to wait on MS for a replacement.
Amazon reviews and redit to name a couple just saying....

In my experience it's extremely well made. I have had zero issues. It's even been knocked onto my tile floors by my kids a couple times. The quality is unmatched in my experience. I can't imagine it being broken easily. I know several people personally who have one. Those are outliers.

Look up reviews and they are all glowing. Google Consumer reviews show 9 one star ratings and 500 five star ratings. Take that as you will, and I'm sure you can dig around to fuel your confirmation bias.

i didn't expect anyone here to say the experience was bad and I do hear more positive than negative reviews.
I am biased..biased against its price.

Cut it out Val. If Sony announced a DS4 Elite you'd claim it won an award before it was even released. Just accept that Xbox is the real deal man. It's a lot easier when you just appreciate greatness. True greatness. Not that propaganda in the Sony ads.

But the PS4 controller is great.

Name one other gamepad that also acts as a battery draining flashlight that can't be turned off?

So when Val plays SF5 in the dark and can't log into the sketchy servers (like his Twitch video), he can play "follow the blue dot" as the PS4 nightlight glares off the tv.

I can understand why you'd be hesitant to spend that much on a controller. I was the same, I just got lucky to get one as a christmas present. I honestly have never used a higher quality controller. It's pretty shocking how completely thorough MS was in it's design, production, and custom function. Hell, the sticks are made of friggin' metal! You can remap every button and customize sensitivity and dead-zone on sticks and triggers. You can configure the paddles however you want. Only want two paddles? Four? None? Different Stick lenths, and different D-pads? all possible and super easy and intuitive to customise. You can save two different configs and change them on the fly with a flip of a switch. You can lock the trigger for short pull with a switch.

It is the ultimate gamer's controller and actually costs less than a third party custom controller with the same functionality. Best. Controller. EVAR!

Considering how great the DS4 is,any improvement would be something that would get me excited.
I like some Xbox stuff and thankfully MS made it where the few things I like about Xbox I can experience improved on my PC(without paying for XBL) and hence I(ME) see no reason to own a Xbox anymore.
I do appreciate greatness that's why I game mainly on my PS4.
