Game Lineup Comparisons v. 1.5

I used to play GT back in the day and I haven't in awhile. Its not relevant.

Also thats not an answer. If a new GT comes out and is the greatest racing game ever and sells 10 million unins then it is probably a failure because it didn't sell 15. I think there is a big desire for a new GT but there is also a desire for lots and lots of games. I don't disagree that PS4 needs games that sell but you haven't explained why it needs games to sell as well as Halo. What will happen if they don't? Is your enjoyment of the system tied up into whether that happens?

What the systems need are good games that are successful but what is successful for one isn't going to the same for another.

GT isn't relevant? Wut. Sony has a gold mine of a seller under them its sat on.

This is a lineup thread, not all the games will be relevant to all people. I just think its interesting how popular playstation has been, yet they can't deliver on a brand like halo. It outsold all the ps3 exclusives fps games last gen combined.

If you look at halo as a series, yeah, but individually, no. Combining games in a series doesn't mean much. That's like someone saying all call of duty games outsold all MS exclusive shooters combined.
You're essentially taking one franchise that did very well, and putting it against all shooters, on a platform that wasn't known for their shooters.

We get it, Halo does very well, no one is denying that, but my god, it almost boils down to every game being pitted against halo.

Console x has all these games....but they're no Halo, lol.

I meant its not relevant whether I play it. I don't know how they are sitting on it. It hasn't even been 2 years.

Interesting it may be but dismissing games because they aren't Halo is a different story.

I think it means alot. COD isn't outselling all of MS shooters though, maybe with all the platforms ps3 PC etc, but not MS console like for like, that statement loses ground because you can't say it another way that it makes sense. If so, use another example that is similar. Sony had KZ, Haze, Resistance series. I think halo 3 nearly outsold all of them by itself, not the halo series, so I was downplaying it.

Just stating popularity is important. If you'll remember the Destiny thread a certain poster was hanging on to popularity of that brand, despites its lackluster review scores. Now popularity isn't important. lol Most probably don't know who I'm talking about, but I haven't forgot. ;)

GT6 wasn't a full on sequel. It was what GT5 was supposed to be.

That sounds like spin

I assumed you are talking Val but I really hope you are talking about me

It's not hooked up because you didn't want to play it anymore.

Plain and simple.

If you wanted to play it, it would still be hooked up.

Ummm....no. If I didn't want to play it anymore I would have sold it or given it to a relative. You fail to understand I already have 3 systems hooked to my tv (including the remastered NeoGeo...imagine that wanting to play such old games) and I am out of ports, plugs, and shelf space. You completely ignored the slower 360 UI that wouldn't be a hindrance with BC.

You better believe I will be placing BC games as they come out as will many others. This "I only" mentality of trying to project your own feelings to mean the world must feel this way too is laughable.

So XBO exclusives lose in review scores, sales and online player counts so we try and spin popularity?
That's kool cause Destiny is more poplar then Halo :)

But considering you can hook your 360 up to your XBO this point fails.

^^VaL with nicer legs
I laughed waaaaay harder then I needed to at this. Damn you, Pravus!

I never said it was 'fail city'. wut?

I said it was 'okay'. It's not amazing by any means. Destiny did amazing numbers for a new franchise.

No PS4 yet, there aren't any must have exclusives yet. I'm hoping UC4 is that game.
Saying over a million sold isn't good for a new franchise is a fail city type spin.

But you own a XBO and are planning on purchasing another XBO when it has worse exclusives then the PS4.

fanboys

(Meant to add this in my response)
COD outsells Halo/all of MS shooters on just XB consoles.

You can hook your XB 360 into your XBO via pass threw but you already know this but don't do it yet BC is huge right?

But considering you can hook your 360 up to your XBO this point fails.

It is a really silly point considering the HDMI In is only good for video sources. The video goes in to the Xbox One, out of the Xbox One, and into the TV thus causing lag for games. Some of you guys are really going all out to downplay the attraction of backwards compatibility for some people and it's pretty hilarious.

Stating an opinion as a fact but calls other people fanboys (for not making similar purchase decisions). Very ironic.

You're equating VR to the XBox One being able to play XBox 360 games?

No. Not at all. I simply said that just because I'm not interested in something doesn't mean that it automatically makes it "not a big deal". I (unlike some here in this thread) know that people can be interested in something (popular) that I'm not.

No, I get that. I really do. I just think that, in this particular case, I can read people a little bit better. I predict this will be like giving a cat a ball of yarn. When the cat doesn't have the ball, he wants it feverishly. Then the cat gets the ball of yarn, plays 30 minutes of the original Bioshock or Skyrim, and says "Well this isn't as fun as I imagined. Time to go pop in Metal Gear Solid V or Fallout 4."

The fact remains, the easiest way for 360 owners to play 360 games over the past 2 years has been to keep their 360 plugged into their TV and boot it up whenever they please. No one, especially those here (message board folk) are playing their 360 regularly. Let's not act like some force swept over the globe and snatched up everyones 360. People played their 360 and their game library to complete satisfaction. Going back to last gen games you've already played to contentment isn't fun.

We'll see though. I'd bet anything that we get extremely underwhelming bumps in BC game numbers. There's just too many amazing games out right now and in the near future.

Spin spin spin! actually you are pretty hilarious

YOU CAN PLAY YOUR 360 GAMES NOW..
But nobody is doing it lol Yet BC is a huge thing!
Oh and input lag is happening via BC games as well..uh oh un-spun.

p.s don't assume I don't think its a kool addition (i ordered Gears 3)
I am just pointing out how funny you guys are for making it bigger then it is...
What is ESPECIALLY funny is those who can play the XB 360 NOW via pass threw but DON'T and BRAG ABOUT BC!
lol

We went about this all wrong Val.

Steam.

Steam is essentially a platform that's BC with "last gen" PC games. The majority of XBox360 games just so happened to be on Steam. Steam also just so happens to keep player count numbers for a multitude of games. Surely, if last gen 360 games were so important, we'd see a significant amount of players, playing games from 2007, or 2009 or whenever.

What do you think Steam tells us though?

NO ONE GIVES A s*** ABOUT OLD GAMES THAT THEY'VE ALREADY BEATEN!

Case closed. Bring on the new s***.

Free games- who doesn't like free games outside all of the other merits of BC. I have a feeling if the BC perks went the other way in the "war" there would be a ton of hootin and hollering on the other side. So over the next year gold members will get an additional 24 games free in addition to all the freebies as perks for new releases. The fact is while not a game changer BC is a massively consumer friendly initiative.

Sony has a consumer friendly option too called PS Now. As Sony touted its great value, pay $20/mth subscription to stream PS3 games (or $180/yr if you do quarterly plans) or pay by the game from anywhere from $3 to $40 to "rent" a game. Great value. Some games let you pay $3 to play 4 hours, while some charge $40 to play it for 30 or 60 days.

MS has BC and EA Access ($5/mth or $30/yr). Sony has PS Now ($20/mth or $180/yr).

I think its a great addition, you can feel free to downplay as much as you want.

Nobody is doing it through passthrough because it introduces significant input lag. Also, I have my cabletv going through my hdmi passthru like any sane individual.
