Welp. Score one for the Night King.

The pacing of this episode was ridiculous. Jon and co. made it from Eastwatch to the Night King, Gendry made it from there back to Eastwatch, a raven sent to Dragonstone, Dany made it from Dragonstone to the Night King, and everyone made it back to Eastwatch... all in one episode.

There were some incredible moments for just about everyone this episode but holy s*** did it feel rushed.

Spoilers from last night's episode

Why couldn't they just turn around when someone died in their party? Wouldn't one of the redshirts who got attacked and died turn? They should have just stopped wand waited. No reason to make the amazingly stupid move of confronting the main group. Of course they've been inconsistent with how people turn. They even made a point to say they had to burn Thoros.

Also don't even get me started on the thin timing for Dany to get there in time. I could let that slide, but then Benjen just happens there too? Why not just bring the dragons in the first place as they seemed to know this would happen.

Where could they have run? The only choice was to face them. They were too fast.

I actually like it. LF's manipulations are masterful but are coming to an end soon.

LF manipulating is fun and I am reserving some judgement for however this story ends because I have been saying for weeks I thought they would try and pull a fast one on us but Sansa and Arya were distrusting of each other before LF did anything so that isn't really an explanation or excuse for this story.

Its the biggest failure of the shows new rushed pace

No. They have shown us how they get turned. They aren't zombies or infacted, they don't turn just because they are dead. They have to be reanimated by the Night King or one of the others that stand out.

Danny was cliche writing but hardly a plot hole.

Danny didn't beleive in all this.

The other guy seemed to be tracking tye hoarde, hence his continous ability to appear.

None of these things are plot holes imo.

I have a feeling it's all a Ruse in case LF is listening or has spies. Arya is too smart, I think.

Think you need to go back and rewatch. LF planted these things in Sansa before Arya even got there.

Arya is down to her newfound ability to spot lies, and because of LF's manipulation of Sansa, she can tell Sansa isn't being honest about the position she has. Not to mention than Arya seemed to have her distrust of Sansa the day Ned lost his head.

And Sansa should be a lot smarter at this point or her character development has gone back to zero

I said a few weeks ago they would pull something like that to try and fool the audience to have a big moment of Sansa getting over on LF like he did to Ned but my issue is the audience shouldn't buy that kind of strife between any of the Stark kids.

Also the show is very entertaining and maybe as entertaining as ever but this season its certainly got a lot dumber. Teleporting characters, ravens that travel the speed of light, the entire reason why they even went north of the wall, and much more is made things awfully silly. The rush to get to the end has made it more of a mindless blockbuster.

I agree with the compression. It could have easily been two episodes longer.

They've never been consistent with that. The one that attacks Jon way back in season 1 wasn't turned by anyone.

The Night King can turn people on demand, but throughout the entire show they have made sure they burn the bodies.

That is her development, she thinks she is smart, she thknks she knows what LF wants and she thinks she is immune to it.

I never saw Sansa as a main character, she always seemed like a device used as a means to an end.

I certainly agree on the season being to short. It has affecteed the effectiveness of the writing and scenes.

Not to mention that the idea of even attempting to reason with Cercei is beyond silly. Yeah because you know how concerned she is for the entire realm.

Think you will find it was. Not once have they shown a person die and just come back as a WW.

They haven't made surre of that at all. Literally tens of thousands have died and were not burnt. The only reason bodies get burned is to prevent them getting turned.

Having said all that, we have seen the Night King bring his horde back in great numbers without touching them...remember the fight at the freefolk village?

She is a main character there is no question. The fact that you think she isn't and a couple people in thread hope she dies shows their failure with her.

If only there was a member of her family there to tell them that

The very first wight that attacks Jon and Mormont was inside Castle Black. Those bodies were lying around forever, so at least there's a timing inconsistency.

I mean the entire show is about the threat from the undead, but now they seem to struggle to find one.

Plus the entire plan to reason with Cercei is beyond foolish. Show of hands, who thinks Cercei is going to be cool with any kind of compromise? :)

Also, if the NK doesn't need to touch something to reanimate it (as we've seen) why did they need to do that very drastic thing last night?

Well, there isn't. Only the Three Eyed Raven can tell them.

They didn't struggle, they went stright to them.

There might be a timing inconsistency.

I agree with you on the Cersi part.

Um I hope book Danny dies as well.

Um I hope book Danny dies as well.
I think she will. Would be disappointing if someone so predictable, like Danny or Jhon, ended up on Throne.

Wouldn't it be funny iff a Wildling ended up on it?

Or if tyey had the balls to let evil win and everybody dies.
