Not to bring PSN into this thread, but MS need to do much better. They are giving Tomb Raider a 2013 hit game, & MS giving out game from 2008 that you can get cheap from bargain bin? Really!
Which bargain bin would that be?

Dungeon Defenders came out at the very end of 2011 & it is probably the best Arcade game released last gen. I don't get what people are so upset about. What do people expect from these free games? They aren't going to give you something brand new.
PSN have given out Bioshock infinite & now Tomb Raider, both 2013 games. That's fairly new for me.
Wow, civilisation sure hold its value. Ok, I stand corrected. But I seriously think XBOX should improve the offering to more latest games, & start having games on XBOXone. They are now lacking behind by quite a bit from their rival.

Publishers are less likely to give newer games away for free and that's the main difference between this offer and PSN+, they are giving us these games.
Cancel that PSN+ sub and you will find out

Ok, I got your point. But in reality, its not a deal beaker for most people, & with the limited harddisk size of 360 & xbox one, when you cancel Live, most of games that you couldn't find storage space in your harddisk is also gone.
Either way, I do not see it being big difference to publishers, to be the reason why MS cannot have newer games compare to Sony.

Assassin's Creed II and Shoot Many Robots were awesome for me. Might be in the minority, but I want MS to give older games as well. Never played stuff like Gun, Rockstar Table Tennis, Peter Jackson's King Kong, James Cameron's Avatar, Godfather, etc. Don't see any problem with offering a variety. If anything, I'd be pissed that they'd offer a game so soon after launch and I happened to buy it. Like Plants vs Zombies: GW or Arkham Origins.
Well just in case you haven't heard, games aren't fun unless they're 1080/60 and not more than a year or so old...
Civ is a fantastic turn based strategy - world domination game. I had it when it came out way back when. If you never played it can have a steep learning curve and not good tutorial. It includes MP but games can take one to three hours to play out so is best between like minded players and friends. Last time I checked the MP also lacked a save feature. Other than those minor quibbles, this is among the top three strategy games on a console.
This is why I'm not buying xbox one games now. I know 3 years from now they'll be free with Games with gold!

What if Games with Gold for Xbox One starts next month or even After E3 events? Never know!
I think the summer sounds about right. I`ll take a stab and say 3 GFG are released per month. One normal budget 360 games, one XBLA style 360 game and one X1 game which can be either a normal or small budget game.What if Games with Gold for Xbox One starts next month or even After E3 events? Some games that scream X1 GFG freebies are Powerstar Golf, Crimson Dragon, KI $20 edition, and perhaps Ryse.
Civ Rev, awesome. Still own that game actually but haven't played it in years. Fun game though, worth picking up if anyone hasn't played it yet.
