WTF is wrong with people? I'm not big on Spencer, I think the guy gets a pass for a lot of issues he likely helped to create but when he's doing something nice like offering congratulations to a team that worked their asses off for years on a project that's being well received it should be applauded or at the worst ignored not attacked or made into something else.

It's funny that polygon was saying the "4K" mode didn't offer a big visual upgrade yet they admit to only playing it on a 1080p tv lol. I'll start with 4K as well, a dip here and there isn't going to bother me, it's not something that's been brought up as a big issue in reviews. I'm sure I'll play it more than once anyway so I may try both modes out.
 
It's annoying to watch people troll Phil. The guy has been doing amazing things for Xbox. Not only that, he actually responds on social media.
 
We should all take lessons from Phil and Santa Monica Studies. Kick ass and be humble about it. This looks like a real winner.

I tried to watch one of those "story recap" videos, and I just got more confused, because there was too much information. A lot has happened to Kratos. I don't think I really care. I don't think I need to know all that.

I'm hoping that God of War is friendly to new players. I'm sure there will be things in there that only series veterans will appreciate, but I'm going to start from scratch and hope they bring me up to speed with the basics.

Ya well some would say it's equally annoying that Phil is painted as a hero when all he really did was fix the mess that was left behind by Mattrick and co. I like the guy, but it's year what.. 4 now for him and he hasn't really delivered the games people expect.

Not sure about the whole kumbaya act. It's good to congratulate your competitors but if was an Xbox fan i'd be getting agitated that they seemingly don't care about beating Sony. Who cares who wins but some competition would go a long way.
 
Let's not go too deep down the Phil Spencer well. It's dark down there.
 
I just watched a few reviews and this looks like an epic adventure. I was worried about the major change to Kratos' signature weapon but that battle ax makes combat look every bit as stylish as the blades did.

I had no idea Christopher Judge is voicing Kratos. I haven't seen him in much since his days on Stargate. And from the reviews I've seen he does a excellent job.

Yeah I knew it was his voice from "Boy" in the first trailer lol, I'm so glad they changed actors. It also doesn't hurt that they give him more to do than scream at everything lol.
 
Some nice graphical upgrades have happened since the game was first shown.

I am good at what I do for a living but even I dont know if I could turn around a multi billion dollar division in 3 years.

yeah, I watched a video this morning. seems this is one of the few games to me at least that looks better then the trailers they showed off.

I haven't watched this yet, but I understand from the Resetera thread that they say the 4K/CB mode is their preferred one. Usually sticks to 30 fps, but some occasional dips. That's good; that's what I'll go with then. Glad (but not surprised) to hear the earlier reports were exaggerated.

The DF vid is a bit suspect. I don't think its terrible by ANY means, but they said the beginning area was the worst they tested and it was hitting 27fps, well the very next video I watched contradicts that showing 24fps, that's not good when its already a lowly 30fps game. I'm considering the performance mode, but also I might wait for another patch, I get the feeling these guys won't stop improving it.

Seriously Sony devs constantly one up each other lol. Uncharted 4 was the pinnacle of PS4 gaming then it was Horizon and now it is God Of War. Up to Naughty Dog and Guerrilla to step up again. It's like a 3 way contest between those 3 who can make the most impressive PS4 exclusive.

In most respects. But some things were downgraded like fur. But I think that’s to be expected. It looked too good in the trailer. But overall, the game looks better than the trailer.
