Halo 5: Guardians

My GT is DAVID 8 I 2. I took some videos also. I even got one where it shows his color is supposed to be black n red

I'm still trying to figure out what you mean by turning gold... Are you talking about the lighting?

lighting? Look at the different pictures I have posted. How can lighting turn a black rocket launcher, and primarily black armor gold color? Then when I change the colors rocket launcher is still gold, and parts of the armor are still gold. Put some picks on twitter Partime Spartan. It changes back n forth between gold n black depending on how I'm doing. Since I have unlocked all but 3 helmets,3 armors and some emblems. Also some weapon skins that popped up,but I haven't got. Instead I get back 6k after every gold req, 3k after every silver and 500 back on every bronze if I buy in tgzt order. . The only time I unlock new emblems is when I level up or complete a commendation.

Yeah, that's the gold-ish light being picked up in the specularity of the materials. It's less pronounced in some shots because he is holding the weapon at a different angle.

There are two lights in that scene. One is the more white rim lighting from the rear-left, and the gold fill light from the right. It's just the materials picking up the color of the light. Different materials have different roughness values so they reflect and absorb light to varying degrees. Dat PBR!

Anyone play Warzone Turbo over the weekend? Pretty fun to be able to just go balls to the walls with your req cards and really get a chance to play with all the unlocked loadouts in your arsenal. Its an ever crazier deathfest than normal with all the power weapons in play. A lot of the time you don't even need to burn req cards, you can just pick up any one of the number of power weapons laying around the map from all the other people who died.

For those who didn't try it, essentially, as soon as you secure your home base, you immediately go up to req level 9 and, once you use some reqs the timer for regeneration of the reqs jumps back up really quickly. The only down side. You definitely burn through reqs a LOT faster than a normal game and don't really get that big of a boost in req points awarded to you. I guess they don't want to do that because people would completely stop playing other versions. I played through about 3 of the turbos and then went back to regular Warzone.

Then why does it only happen certain times? Agree to disagree?

No man I'm not wish so though. I really don't use reqs unless I'm going for a commendation. Just use what I find on the ground . So I literally had 100s of vehicles. Gave away almost all of them except tanks no one bothered to come to base to grab em. No one understood what I was trying to do.

Dave, your pics look metallic green to me. I think it has to be the lighting like Frozbot said that's making the armor look gold.

There are graphical glitches after playing games sometimes that make your spartan look different colors. I've experienced it too.

Anyway, Warzone Firefight beta starts sometime today! :D

Played a couple of rounds of it last night. Here is the last three minutes of my first match. We won all five rounds...had 4 tanks at the end concentrating fire on the Mythic boss

The second round we lost the second round, unable to protect the garage.

The only game I lost was at the garage also. Seems to be the only round that is a challenge.

Its certainly nice to use requisitions and not stress about wasting them. Is the req point timer slower in that mode? because I use one ghost and never make it back up past 5. Makes me feel real useless when the shouter eternal shows up.

That last round is also a bit of a massive spike in difficulty compared to the rest. It's simple if you just pour enough scorpions on but compared to the earlier waves it's a little unusual. But, this is why it's a beta I guess. Lookin forward to this on the other maps once the full thing hits.

Doesn't seem that way to me. I can get two or three ghosts plus a tank usually. I'm pretty sure your req is driven by kills?

Never look at a req as wasted or you become hesitant using them.

I reach the levels just fine, it's the spendable points that aren't matching. Maybe I hit a bug.

Or I suck. I mean I'm trying here.

Is it worth opening a 80k Mythic warzone firefight pack ? I got 81.000 now and unsure what to do.

It really all depends on what you already have. If your at 100% for most of your customization then HELL NO!
You can get 20 gold packs for 80k. Even if your not done. You are guaranteed 2 certifications with gold. So if you spend your req points on gold packs your potentially unlocking 16 legendary or mythic certification anyway. Send another message saying your percentage and how many lower than legendary reqs your missing.

Thanks David. I don't have much in terms of customization would be nice but I much rather prefer weapons, vehicles as I've been playing Firefight non-stop. So gold it is ?

Played Firefight a handful of times. Only cleared that "Defend The Garage" mission once.

It's my fav round by far. I love insane amount of enemies in a building in one place. The chaos of it is so much fun.

My least fav round has to be the last one with Warden Eternal. Most boring boss ever for me. And the only way of clearing it is with scorpions/wraiths etc. power weapons/vehicles which I'm not too fond of. Much rather have a wave like clear the garage but double/triple the amount of normal enemies instead of Warden Eternals.

Frozpot make me sad to hear that, tell you what. If we are ever in same team shoot at my feet in S.O.S and ill hook you up with whatever!

I've played it a decent amount and it really does seem like the only round I've played that we lost. Every other match goes the full five...and I don't think I've ever lost one of those. The good thing about it is the high amount of req points you wind up getting each match. I don't think I've gone under 2,000 for any game that was completed. I just went back and looked at my record....17-9 wins to losses. As I played it more and more I found myself holding back a bit more in terms of distance. If you go charging into a situation you wind up dying, especially with the Promethian AI who seem to wind up warping in behind you. I also noticed that picking up the Promethian weapons seems to be a very good tactic as they hone in on enemy weak spots and track enemies pretty nicely. I also have been using the random weapon/vehicle reqs as well. I had one really awesome req usage. Got a higher level version of the Spartan Laser in one of the rounds where there were a ton of those Promethian ships...I took out 6-7 of them with this laser because it recharged so fast.

I tend to use my req points in either the second or third round and then build them back up for the final round. Its nice to have a tank/banshee or a power weapon (especially one you can use from distance) for the final bosses. Sometimes, If I'm close enough (and I'm completely out of ammo) I'll head back and re-up again if its getting close to the end of the final round and the boss isn't dying.

The other thing its really helping with is the Enemy Commendations. Especially because you get credit for a kill if you take one shot on an enemy. I found myself taking 1-2 shots and letting my teammates finish them off. The only ones left to get at Warden, Hunter, Grunt and Watchers. At the same time, its bad for Weapons Commendations because you aren't getting any Spartan Kills.

The only thing I don't like is getting plugged into a match that is already on the 4th or 5th round.

I started playing through the campaign on legendary by myself a while back. I play it very sporadically when I am not in the mood for matchmaking. Got hung up on the first Warden Eternal for a while. Eventually passed that area and got to a section where you fight a huge amount of Promethians in a big open area with bases on both sides. Got hung up in that area for a while too but finally passed it last night after doing a whole lot of duck and cover fighting. I started climbing up this oil rig looking area and am not getting hung by a couple of Promethian Phaetons. Have no power weapons on me so I'm trying to pop in and out with a DMR and keep getting impatient and not waiting for my shields to recover before I re-engage.

In addition to the Campaign AI changes (which, according to the Article, are also in effect in Warzone)....

COLISEUM
  • Removed Binary Rifles

  • Swapped Sniper Rifle and Rocket Launcher weapon pads (Sniper to "Yellow Tower" / Rocket Launcher to "Green Tower")

  • Suppressor moved to bottom of the Grav Lift
FATHOM
  • SAW weapon pad modified
    • Max ammo reduced to one magazine total (no reloading)

    • Respawn time reduced from 3 min to 2 min
EMPIRE
  • Shotgun moved back to Tower One

  • Plasma Pistol moved to "Mid" the small street in between "Tower" and "Pit"
Finally, it was also confirmed that Halo 5's Fiesta mode is expanding with new options.
