Headsets for Xbox

I've been doing some research on wireless headphones that can be used for both the XSX & PS5. It just seems easier to have one set of cans for both consoles.

While looking I found out about the Steelseries Arctis 7X. They sport a Xbox inspired design but its said to work with both consoles. I'm currently pouring over reviews that I've been able to find but so far the word is they provide good sound, a clear voice, long battery life and a comfortable design.

If anyone has experience with this type of headphones please provide your impressions, thanks.

I wanted to go the one pair route but none currently available cover all the bases.
So I spent $250 and got two headsets.

The $99 Xbox Wireless Headset is great for gaming — and working from home

With immersive gaming sound, a wonderfully comfortable design and a reliable microphone, the $99 Xbox Wireless Headset would be an easy recommendation even without its extra features. But its ability to pair to your Xbox and phone at the same time really puts it over the edge, turning Microsoft’s headset into a device that makes it easy to take calls or catch up on podcasts while you grind out some Gears of War.

The Xbox Wireless Headset is a fantastic value for Xbox and PC gamers — especially those who spend as much time on conference calls as they do gaming.

Just got home and I got my package. I will setup a live stream unpacking the headset so we can experience it together. Stay tuned for time frame of the live stream.

I'm going to buy the official sets for both consoles, seems the easiest without breaking the bank.

So it's good for the price but has issues.

I will point out one of them in the ign review that stands out..

"That said, even with Atmos, the Xbox Wireless Headset’s surround sound doesn’t create the same sense of spatial awareness as Sony’s Tempest system in the PS5, particularly when used with the Pulse 3D headset."

This isn't true with my Kaira Pro(cost $50 more) for XB as I found the spatial sound to be noticeably better than the Pulse 3D.

If spatial sounds are important I would spend the extra $50.
Hmmm, did they compare the same game on one platform or the same game on both?

This next question isn’t directly aimed at ya TP but is there any series ganes using that new tech Xbox showcased last year or fully taking advantage of its dedicated chip?

i wanna see what and how Ninja Theory does with it. https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/xbox-series-x-audio/

I've spent am embarrassing amount on headsets, I rotate between 3 depending on my needs:

Sennheiser GSP 500
Sennheiser GSP 600
Sennheiser GSP 670

In normal circumstances I like to main the GSP 500's as open backs are king for sound stage. GSP 600 for when there is alot of background noise going on or I dont want people to hear what I am listening to, GSP 670's for wireless closed back convenience. That's over 800 dollars in gaming headsets MSRP...and that's not including the ones I haven't said anything about that I have retired....

im going to do a supercut of that stream...this headset is pretty awesome.

The cool factor is when you power on your headset, it has the same boot sound as the Series Consoles.

Yeah, it looks like that's the best option. I spent a few hours this afternoon looking for something compatible with both and it just got annoying, lol.

I guess here can explain?

sorry, specs on headsets are not my expertise on them.
I think it is at the bottom of that page.

Mine is supposed to arrive Sunday.

I’m reading mixed impressions for the headset, especially the sound quality. Fine by me though as I’ve already got a pair of wireless so not sure what I would do with a second

Brad Sams was pretty down on it. Said all of the features are great....except for the sound. He is sending it back.

I saw one review that said it had too much bass but you could adjust it but not enough.
