Horizon: Zero Dawn

It was just an odd comment to throw in when he literally had nothing negative to say about the game. And I think 4 hours of game play to be able to take a guess on if a game is good. I'm just splitting hairs though.

Is there multiplayer or is this a single player only game?

I'm pretty sure it's a single player only game.

Just FYI we are not the only ones making comparisons with Far Cry. It seems to be a popular consensus.

Here is another preview. I lost track on how many times he compared it to FarCry Primal:

Full fledged RPG hmmm tasty

I told people Horizon is is way more complex than Killzone but a tone of people disagreed with me. Now most of you are eating crow.

"Pretty safe to say the gameplay is beyond any Killzone title. You said "prove it" they already did. Sure some things are up for question like story but the gameplay in depth and strategic."

Despite the unpopular opinion I was right...

Dropped my pre-order for the Switch because I think I rather dump some money on a PS4 if Horizon Dawn is good, plus there's a few more titles that I'd like to play.

A total of 3 times... Apparently you are horrible at math.

From a gameplay standpoint it's nothing like Far Cry. Sure it has som simularities but overal I highly disagree. OMG trees and Dinasours it must be Far Cry.

Actually it was more than 3.

Are you rocking a 4K TV with HDR? Just in case you were not aware of the differences with the PS Pro:

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/horizon-zero-dawns-ps4-pro-benefits-detailed/1100-6445003/

Horizon: Zero Dawn is still a few months away, but with the more powerful PS4 Pro coming this month, the post-apocalyptic adventure will feature some improvements when compared to playing it on the original PS4.

Guerilla Games technical director Michiel van der Leeuw detailed how 1080p and 4K displays will benefit from the upgraded console in a post on the PlayStation Blog. While the PS4 Pro is most useful with a 4K television, the game will feature extra detail, enhanced colors, and improved shadow maps and higher quality anisotropic filtering, which means the quality of the texture sampling will be increased, resulting in more detailed environments.

Additionally, Horizon is set to feature supersampling, which means it'll render at a higher resolution--Leeuw says "close to 4K"--and then get shrunk down to 1080p. This will result in an improved image with smoother edges.

4K televisions, on the other hand, will see a 2160p checkerboard, which is purported to be a technique that "looks incredible" on a 4K display. Leeuw says this will add noticeable detail to certain aspects, such as "stitching on Aloy’s outfit, individual leaves and branches swaying in the wind, kilometers away in the distance, and more detail in all the machines and NPCs in the world."

As for HDR support, Horizon will have it, which we already knew from the PS4 Pro unveiling event. This will give the game "brighter and deeper colors [with] more contrast and vibrancy."

Horizon: Zero Dawn releases exclusively for PS4 on February 28, 2017. A Digital Deluxe edition was announced earlier this year. It includes a couple new outfits, three resource packs, a digital art book, and an exclusive theme, in addition to the game. You can see the full details for it and Horizon's preorder bonuses here.

The number of times he compared it to FarCry Primal: 3
The number of ways he compared it to FarCry Primal: More than 3

You are both right.

And just because you can compare the setting and other elements doesn't mean anyone is saying it's the same game. We all know they are different games. But they do draw comparisons. If you can't see that then I don't know what to tell you.

Thank you, I feel the exact same way. They are NOT the same game. But the similarities are there. This game however appeals to me, while Primal did not.

seeing that map, then seeing camps where you just mark all enemies(human) then slowly take them out has really deflated my anticipation

i didnt buy FC: Primal cause i am sick of that gamestyle. the robot fights is the only thing keeping me interested atm

Game isn't out yet so we can't say its good yet(although it looks promising as heck)

f00k Far cry

Being better than Killzone would be setting the standards pretty low. This is by far better.

My response is to the video not anyone here the in the topic. The reviewer mentioned "If you don't like Primal you won't like Horizon." and I disagreed. My issue is that reviewers are shedding too much light on the comparisons rather than mentioning what's unique about Horizon. If the game is compared too much to Farcry it will definitly turn people away who wanted a new experience.

And I still think Kvally was trying to low blow Horizon based on posting history but I will digress.

My post is clearly about depth. I was spot on just like I am about Ni-Oh.

So you've played Horizon Zero-O?

Don't get me wrong, everything I've seen thus far continues to look better and better. When I first saw the game I thought "this is just stupid...robot dinosaurs where humans are still cavemen and shooting metal monstrosities with arrows". It was all a bit over the top. But having watched more and more I am understanding the vision and I am much more at ease with it all. In fact, I have the collectors edition pre-ordered for Day 1.

But while everything shown looks in good order, there hopefully is still much more to be revealed that will take this to the level of a stalwart series like AssCreed, Gears, Halo, Uncharted, etc. I'm rooting for it but not 100% convinced as we've had other titles with great promise fall flat.
