yo fellow gamers :)
ok i still have my 360 and with quite a large backlog of games and X1 not BC, i aint gonna get rid of my older console for some time yet, but question is, how long do you think MS will keep on supporting the 360 please?
not only with new titles but more updates for the OS and its older titles and ofc XBL arcade?

still go back and play skyrim and also got to finish titles like GTAV, metal gear rising, splinter cell etc

5 years I reckon. As soon as the cross platform (cross between x1 and the 360) titles stop, you know its done.

I would be surprised if it lasts another 3. All you will mainly get now are the yearly titles.

Fable Anniversary might actually end up be the last 'big' exclusive for it.

2 or 3 years I say, but MS says they will stay on the market till one day after ps3 does.

Yeah I am also thinking between 3-5 years
Been an awesome console though! :)
Hell yeah,... best online gaming console title goes to the 360. It'll be regarded a classic in the years to come. I'm keeping mine and whatever 360 games I've left (about 40 or so) for my son.

ouch, slap in the face no less.
Rubbing it in I'd say.
Showing off a little!
Point to prove, out on a mission type deal...

I'd say still a few years. Hell, there's still games I want to play on 360 and PS3. Games like The Last of Us and Gears of War, show us that last gen (weird calling it last gen) can still pump out good games.

QFT great systems 360 is eight years old. Mine has grey hair already...

I love my 360, I have owned a lot of systems and this was my favorite and most used. I will never sell it but i dont see myself going back to it anytime soon, I have some games that need to still be played but I have no motivation at the moment to turn my 360 on other then to watch a dvd

My guess is 3 yrs max and the support will stop

I'm going to be Patty Pessimistic over here and say 2 years tops.

The 360 has at least 3 years left. Look at the PS2, it didn't even have a great online network like the 360 does and developers kept putting games on it. Sports games at least.

Hope it lasts at least another year. I know we have Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us that are only this-gen, so that's something (though I can't believe they won't port them to next-gen eventually).

I'll give it a solid year of more key games, the year after having ok support, then it tails off big time.

As far as exclusives go, it's been dead for a while. I think the general consensus is that Brothers was the best 360 game released this year. Hasn't been a great year for 360 only owners.

Well, I wouldn't say that. Most of the key games released this year were better on 360. BF4 being a key one.

Depends on the One sales. If MS is smart they will kill support for the 360 fast like they did with the original. Look forward not backward.
I agree, but Xbox OG was never such a big seller like 360. And with all the DLC and stuff earning money, they may want to let 360 stick around for a while and milk every drop. OG never sold that great (I think about 20M units), so there wasn't really much to linger around for.

I considered selling it, but I think now I'll just get a bad low ball offer. I think I'll keep it and play it till it dies. If support sucks, I'll work my way back trough the game library in the discount bin.

When they can no longer move as many in the Christmas season as they will this year and the new consoles get their first price cut. At some point they are going to want all those 360 customers to upgrade and migrate. I think it will go -- at least -- another two years so they can say they supported the console for ten years.

The original Xbox was killed because MS negotiated an awful deal for themselves with Nvidia and they would not renegotiate to more favorable terms. They killed it to spite Nvidia because they were unreasonable.

In another thread I read a quote from from a MS official who said they would be supporting the 360 through 2016. Again who knows what that means actually.

I've still got games I'm looking forward to purchasing next such as Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 and Dark Souls 2! The console has a lot of life left.

I don't think it has a ton of life left honestly. You could tell that by this last E3 even. Yeah, there will be smaller things & ports, but do you see the games they are trying to give away right now, it's like they are desperate with these sales going on. It's like it's the "Last Supper" for them on 360 & they know they better sell tons of titles now. lol.

2014 360 games:
Fable Anniversary
Assassin's Creed Liberation HD
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare
Castlevania Lords of Shadows 2
South Park: The Stick of Truth
Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z
Dark Souls II
LocoCycle

Lots of games I'm interested playing with in 2014 on the 360.

Judging by the game release list on Gamefly it might be dead by next summer.
Things could change but right now it's almost looking like I might have to end my membership if things do not start picking up.
Even the PS3 release list sucks , pretty sad when you have both consoles and cannot find hardly any games to possibly rent starting pretty much right now all the way through spring and we all know summer is the slow time it's not looking good

tbh with my backlog of games, that could prob be another 3 years to finish em lol then there is other 360 titles i have not even bought!
prob when i have finished all my 360 titles in my collection will i then stop playing my 360 :)

Depends on the purpose. For games at least in my household its done. For media I could hang onto mine for a couple more years.
