39 here.
Oh boy 40 is looming, that's another chapter I guess?
Got into games through C64. Wizards of Wor, Jumpan Jr, Pitstop etc. (those are the 3 cartridges I remember having, rest were on floppy disk, load runner, fast eddy, fort apache? rambo etc)
My dad didn't think playing video games were productive, wouldn't get me a Nintendo. My first console I convinced him to get me was TG16, I loved it but it didn't last long (they still work, just failed in the market)
Fast forward and I'm a teenager almost adult who didn't have consoles as a kid (other than TG16) and I start reading about this Mbox, it's gonna have a hard drive and you can put your music on there and play games like Tony Hawk with your own music playing like it's the soundtrack. s***, maybe I should get this thing and get into games finally!
Been doing Xbox ever since. Xbox Live when it came out was amazing.
Games now just don't have that new experience any more but I still enjoy firing up a game for an hour or two on a day off. I have quite a bit of off time from work yet it doesn't seem like I can just sit down and game for crazy amount of hours like I used to.
So basically I went from playing C64 to playing NES in department stores, trying out SNES/Genesis through friends, getting a TG16 then basically barely ever playing consoles until Xbox came onto the scene.
I feel like I missed out a bit.
