Is anyone sticking with the Xbox 360?

Considering we see mostly cross platform games in the 1st year or so, & some next gen games seemingly not stable, so no strong reason to upgrade yet.

Well, I feel sort of ashamed but I'll be getting my Xbox One delivered tomorrow and I'm going to return it cuz I'm broke.

I've been paying off my cc for 2 years and today it's at $38, so basically gone. It just hit me that if I keep the Xbox One ($564) and with Christmas coming up, I'll probably be back $1000 in debt and paying that off for a couple months into 2014 and I'm just tired of having anxiety about what I can spend on little things to have money to pay down the credit card.

So I've decided to stick with 360 for a few more months. I'll get the XB1 in the spring probably, hopefully they bundle a game with it by then. And all the kinks will be worked out etc.

I'm also not feeling like I have to play any of the launch games. Only two I'm interested in are Forza and DR3 and I don't feel like paying $60 for them, so maybe they'll be quite a bit cheaper by then too (DR3 at the least I'm sure).

Anyway, count me in to the "sticking with 360" gang :D

Just 360 and PS3 for me for at least a year or more then just PS4 for me. I simply don't have the time or want to have all the systems this gen like last time. MS has no exclusives as of now I want and I'm not buying a system for a few games.

God damn it boy set-up your priorities right. Happy to see you're taking the system back to stay out of debt. Don't buy anything you don't need to live if your in debt unless you make it part of your debt repayment plan and factor in an entertainment budject.

It was a tough decision for sure and it was back and forth in my head the last few days on what I should do.

I was set on just going through with it on monday, then tuesday morning I woke up and just felt like I'd be happier having no credit card debt for the first time in so long, can actually have some spending money next pay-cheque and beyond, I just want that more.

I'm gonna get my Xbox One delivered tomorrow and it's going to be tough setting it aside and not even opening it, but I'm sort of happier already thinking about actually being out of debt finally, I'll get my Xbox next year and when I do I'll have better games to play, and be able to afford more games when I begin with it etc.

I'll enjoy it more next year when the financial burden of it doesn't hurt my first experience with it.

well after you're out of debt you need to work on a saving plan. So as you save for that new game system make sure you also start a saving plan for yourself.

Keeping my 360 because my wife and I both use TVs simultaneously, so she can be on the 360 watching Netflix and I can be on the Xbox One playing games, or vice versa.

My 360 still had great games I enjoy playing, Diablo 3, NHL 13, State of Decay, Minecraft, GTA V, Fifa 13, etc.

I was going to get a PS3, but I think I'll see how long I can make my 360 last.

Wait, you getting a PS3? Hmmm...Interesting.

Yeah, I'm platform-agnostic, and the PS3 has at least half a dozen exclusives I'd like to play. But I'm also a cheapskate, and I figured it would be cheaper to stretch my 360 until it was all used up, then make the jump to PS4 and hope for the best with Gaikai (for backwards compatibility), rather than buy a PS3 then sell it a year later for a PS4.

So 360 it is, for another year or so. It's going to be tricky to find things to play, but I think there are still some out there for me:

-GTA V
- Assassins Creed Black Flag
- Walking Dead Season 2
- South Park Stick of Truth

Maybe circle back around for another try at Fallout Vegas, too.

I just bought a new PS3 on clearance and I'm starting to warm up to the PS3 exclusives. I've got so much to play and I'm in no rush.

The great news is MS has said they will be supporting the 360 until 2016. What that means I have no idea. Hey whether you are on 360/PS3 or new consoles it's a great time to be a gamer!

I remember the hubris Sony had trying to sell the PS3 for over $600 and acting quite smug that "fans" will pay it. I will giggle like a drunken teenage girl when I pick up a brand spanking new PS3 & a trunk load of games for pennies on the dollar.

This will be winning.

Xbox Live support I would guess.

I know this is kinda m0ld and things can change, but this was tweeted by Major Nelson a while ago concerning Kinectless X1:

Edit: Hmm, link seems to not be working for me anymore. If it's not working it was basically someone on August 19th asking Major Nelson about a Kinectless Xbox One. He said there are no plans for one. Like I said, could change. But at least sounds like it's not going to happen in the immediate future. Personally I hope it never happens.

Definitely sticking with the 360. My backlog is huge, and there are several games I want to replay.

I have both the Xbox One and PS4, but I plan on using the Xbox 360 a significant amount still. There are still a bunch of great games like Metro, Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, and Batman Arkham City.

I bought Metro 2033 off amazon a few days ago for $10 so I'll probably play that for a bit until I unwrap the Xbox One games that my girlfriend got me for Christmas.

I was fortunate enough to have the money and also got drawn into the next gen hype so I decided to buy both consoles. However, with the amount of great Xbox 360 and PS3 games I still would like to play, I would have been perfectly fine if there were no new game releases or even consoles until Fall 2014.

As of right now, I'm happy with 360 still and do not see the need to jump over Xbox One/PS4 anytime soon. With my life being extremely busy almost daily, it's no way I'll have the time to play with million of games out there. And I'm not in a hurry to play them all. I just try to be careful with how much money I spend (you know, being a family-man, the money is running out of pockets, easily.)

So, basically, I'll be keeping and playing 360 for many years to come. When will I get Xbox One/PS4? Probably mid to late 2014. Depend on what's going on with my life.

I have an X1 but still will be playing on the 360 (still have 2 for TV purposes). I'll only buy new games for 360 at a steep discount (picked up Dark Souls for $5 on CyberMonday) as I finish up the few games I have left there. If X1 gets a Media Center Extender app, then I'll be able to ditch at least one of the 360s....has been my fav console of all time.

I would have gotten an x1 if i was able too, $ and other things prevented, that. Once the new year hits and the new stock comes in. I will be grabbing one. I am looking foward to Ryse and Forza the most, and Titanfall. Then when it does release Halo. been playing a tone of halo 4 right now (the only game i skipped and just started playing in the series)
