Well, yeah, but that's not nearly as funny. Do you even hrudey bro?

I have definitely picked up games that I didn't have yet on the 360 b/c of BC, mostly the free Gold games but there are other games that I never got around to and if I see a deal on and they're BC, I'll pick them up hoping someday to get around to them. :)
I do the same thing, but I know I'll never play them. :p

Sometimes i feel like it's game over for gaming as a whole. All the original ideas feel like they've been used up. Games take forever to be made and are getting more and more expensive resulting in devs taking less chances.

As far as Xbox itself goes, Microsoft is far from done. Just because they don't have anything going for them right now doesn't mean things can't change quickly. Scorpio is a start, now they just need to bring the games. Team green ain't going nowhere. I don't have to change my avatar to say that but i just might. Don't push me media.

New system to be released (most powerful ever) Crackdown 3, Mordor, State of Decay, 2, SoT, not to mention those that haven't been announced yet. I can't understand the current narrative. Just makes no sense.

So the author doesn't seem to understand the play anywhere program. It's great for everyone. Gamers can skip the xbox or the pc, but have access to the titles, or they can play at home or on their pc on the go, devs get access to a wider market, how is this bad?

Like the unit selling advantage hasn't shifted the last few gens dramatically. Where's the perspective!

As some talked about in the great power debates when the system launched, MS and Sony have much larger plans than just games, and if you're looking at the systems they are slowly continuing down the digital path. To my surprise, I hated the digital idea at the start, My xbox one is the center piece of my tv. I have a digital library from games with gold, youtube, net flicks, movies, and my cable all integrated into the XB1. The simplicity is really nice. So that article seems like a relic comparing things that use to matter, not what the market place is.

I know sony has a similar set up, but the passthrough on the xb1 makes it so much more confident.

What I find most amazing about this thread is that fact that no one has posted that infamous 'Game Over' gif from Aliens. This thread needs more Hudson.

if Scorpio is game over for Xbox One, then PS4 Pro was game over for PS4, it just happens that Scorpio actually has a purpose other than a money grab (4k). I'm still wondering what the PS4 Pro was about to this day.

With all respect for Bill Paxton, RIP:

Do you have one?

Nope, it just made little sense when they launched it, an iterative jump that cant achieve 4k. Heck see Greg Miller and Colin Moriarty's reactions to it at launch. They would have been better off holding off and making a true 4k machine than the tween that they have created.

Scorpio is to Xbox One as PS4 Pro is to PS4, just MS made it with the right specs.

That's another terrible written article where he brings up a handful of the same points in the last one.

Wow. What a flip flopper. Who does that? I can't say i blame him though. With the tide about to turn it's got everyone on edge and questioning where they stand. It's game over for the haters tomorrow. The beast is coming.
Guess one might say things will be "switching" up tomorrow, eh TD? :hehe:

Well, biased or not, he's not entirely wrong. We've known that Sony has a bit more beef with the 1st party exclusives but
when Nioh, Nier Automata & Persona 5 (all 3rd party games), all come out over a 3 month period exclusive to PS4 (console exclusive), that
really gives them the extra oomph. If I wasn't so invested in the MS eco system and love the controller so much (I have about 250 owned games between X1 and back compat/GWG, etc.) and I was looking to buy a console right now, I'd probably go with a PS4. I may eventually get a PS4 but my backlog is huge tho been making a dent of late.

Regardless of how awesome Scorpio is, they need games...exclusive games and parity with 3rd party. The exclusives can be Playanywhere but they do need to be console exclusive. Hopefully Phil's JPN trip yielded something whether it's ports of current PS4 exclusives or new games.

Yeah but you can't really credit Sony for a lot of these Japanese games because they aren't really doing a whole lot to get them. They were pretty much the only game in town when it comes to consoles. Maybe the X1 should have something like Nioh but there isn't really anything they can do to stop the PS4 from having more Japanese exclusives because X1 just isn't an option for the more niche titles.

You could've just ended with that, since you've probably not seen the difference first hand either.

He did 6 reasons to choose Xbox/PS4 when they came out too, and they were the same rubish.

Bit irrelevant really, having seen videos and knowing specs, but hey keep on that frame of mind. Viva la Scorpio!

I agree with the lack of gaming content at least for me. That is one of the main reasons I sold my X1. PS4 just has more variety in games like niche genres. Just look at the beginning of 2017, quality PS exclusives after another while X1 had Halo Wars 2? What else did they have?

It's good that MS looks to be finally delivering with the Scorpio on the hardware front, now to see if there will be more quality Xbox exclusives to follow.

Yet everyone forgets to look at the end of 2016 when Xbox was nailing out Forza Horizon 3, Dead Rising 5, Gears of War 4, Recore....and Sony left us spanking our monkey hard with one game, The Last Guardian, the flopped to the end of time and back.

Just like Sony got a lot of flack for very thin Fall lineups Microsoft deserves it for going a large amount of time with just Halo Wars 2 and a remaster of an Xbox game that is even more niche than the titles that people love to point out are niche on PS4.

Agreed. Just gonna say 2016 was awesome.
