It's a real shame, this year in particular I'm really struggling with, where are the exclusives even the non exclusive games which I need to buy?

Wildlands was a massive let down for me, there are no other games coming this year which really interest me I'm struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

At the moment it appears over but all it takes is a new Halo trailer at E3 and I'll be right back into it.

Have faith, Spencer knows what he needs to do. E3 will be big IMHO

Sony made exclusives can not be played as intended on anything but Sony hardware and you know this.

Great, so now the definition of "exclusive" requires parsing a developer's intention to decipher what they "intended"? Try harder.

nope unless the 360 and XB OG games will be enhanced to current standards like most current PC's do anyway.
PSnow is a joke in comparison though a bad joke.

If a game shipped with 1080p (or, hell, 480) assets, what PC is creating new 4K assets to enhance them to current standards?

Unless you're counting fan mods, of course, or patches - but patches are also available on console now.

Yeah but you can't really credit Sony for a lot of these Japanese games because they aren't really doing a whole lot to get them. They were pretty much the only game in town when it comes to consoles. Maybe the X1 should have something like Nioh but there isn't really anything they can do to stop the PS4 from having more Japanese exclusives because X1 just isn't an option for the more niche titles.
Good point but I kind of disagree. Not with the main point but the fact that MS can do more to get these. We live in a far more global market and let's face it, porting between consoles has never been easier as the architecture is very similar. It seems to me that the Japanese are short sighted in this regard if they refuse to bring a localized game to a console that is selling well in other regions. Especially since Nier Automata is on PC. I have no idea if Sony struck exclusivity deals or not but if not, MS needs to do more to persuade JPN devlopers to bring these games to Xbox.
Yet everyone forgets to look at the end of 2016 when Xbox was nailing out Forza Horizon 3, Dead Rising 5, Gears of War 4, Recore....and Sony left us spanking our monkey hard with one game, The Last Guardian, the flopped to the end of time and back.
Yeah, that was my point as well....Xbox basically every holiday has had the better lineup but Sony turns around and releases good games in the Spring of the following year. This stretch happens to be very good for them (4 quality games) that have really fueled the fire. I really hope MS is striking more deals and holding some stuff back for Scorpio. Good tech news today and very impressive (I read all the DF articles) but obviously we wait for E3 for the actual games that will get people even more excited. I'm sold but would like a reasonable price and a good trade-in deal.

Who said anything about Sony made?
The non Sony made *cough* Sony owned exclusives on Sony's PS4 are insignificant in comparison.
They are the heart of the PS4 Library and cannot be played as intended on Non Sony hardware..In comparison unlike the Xbox One where all the upcoming exclusives can be played elsewhere and better than intended(with free XBL support)

On the PC when you set the game to a higher resolution..the textures also get updated accordingly plus usually the graphics also have higher settings/more AA/Higher FPS than the console versions AND mods.

I never claimed otherwise. You're creating a straw man argument.

But what you said was:

So what PC is enhancing games from the 360/OG era automatically?

I like how you added your own goal post there. Let me try that:

They are the heart of the Xbox Library and cannot be played as intended on Non Microsoft software..In comparison unlike the PS 4 where all the upcoming exclusives can be played elsewhere and better than intended (PS Pro), and at a lower quality (PS Now on Microsoft Windows) (with paid PSN support).

"What's up with the double standard of counting PS4/PC games as exclusive, but not counting X1/PC games as exclusive?"

Am I misreading something?

Yes PS4 console exclusives. Not Sony made exclusives.

I never specified developer or publisher. You did.

I'm talking about games like Neir that are also on PC but are usually cited as PlayStation exclusive. Not just by fans but the media as well.

Nier - PC
No Man's Sky - PC
Street Fighter V - PC
Tales of Beseria - PC
Dragon Quest Hero's - PC
Hellblade - PC
Death Stranding - PC
Shenmue 3 - PC (possibly Xbox)

Persona 5 - PS3
Yakuza 3 - PS3

And the rest will be on PS Now eventually for Microsoft Windows. Might as well just get a PC then.

Sony also had World of Final Fantasy. True, less PS exclusives in the Fall but there were a plethora of quality big name multiplatform titles that released for Fall as well. Dead Rising 4 you mean? All 4 of those Xbox games you can play on PC btw. At least the exclusives Sony had were actually console exclusives not playable on the PC. All the titles I pointed out actually are not playable on the PC while all the Xbox ones you pointed out are playable on PC.

Kudos to MS for allowing that. As long as MS keeps allowing all their quality exclusives to be launched on PC, I'm a happy PS4/PC camper since I won't be missing anything.

automatically wth are you saying?
Lol

If you set a higher resolution on a game on the PC in most cases it has folders with higher resolution textures ie setting a higher resolution on the PC is more than a simple upscale.
I also pointed out other advantages in the post.

Why does a game comming to PC have to be a bad thing?

If I have $10, someone else also having $10 doesn't make me have $0.

Not only that, I'm willing to bet that most of the games that are also on PC, we actually play more on console.

I have Killer Instinct, and I've never once tried it on PC (even though it would look better/free live). Just the same as I'm assuming Val, you've played Street Fighter V more on your PS?

Cross-buy/play should work for every game, as far as I'm concerned. I hate double paying for anything (with a few exceptions).

Cause many see no need to own a Xbox when you can play its games(improved|free Xbox live) on the PC.

And as long as the vast majority of PS exclusives are playable on PC (and more so with PS Now), I wouldn't need my PS Pro anymore. I could go PC and Xbox and play my Play Anywhere games for the price of one on both systems.

Why would one need a PS then?

exactly and lets not forget free Xbox Live.
Why would one need a Xbox again?
Most are doing the ps4/PC and now switch combo.
Go to most multiplatform gaming forums and this is what is being said.

I plan on purchasing a Scorpio if it has Dolby Vision support as that's a great deal imo.
But that's me.
