He was being sarcastic.
And science doesn't "change", it learns.
For example, there's gravity. It doesn't change. "Gravity" in of itself is not "science", no more than a slice of bread is science. What scientist know of how gravity works throughout history is a learning process, again, through observation. Hence "theories" of how things work. It doesn't "change", because they don't claim absolutes. Another example....science does not claim to know how evolution occurs, what they do is offer credible theories, and theories they fully understand can evolve as they learn more.
Scientist are smart enough to say that "this" is what we believe makes whatever tick based on the evidence at hand, but if presented with new evidence on the contrary, then hey, we learned more.
Followers of the bible cling on the what the bible says, even when we know very well certain things are hogwash. How someone decides to believe in something that has no credible evidence to back it up and then laugh at something that does have credible evidence is baffling to me.
