Lords of the Fallen - 5 hours of gameplay

watched a bunch of videos including this 5 hour one and I'm sold. Hell, it's only $50 on steam so I pre-purchased it. I'm sure I'll get many hours of great, atmospheric fantasy gameplay out of it.

So i checked if the game can be downloaded digitally on X1. So the only way to find the hub/page of this game on the Marketplace is by going to a Twitch stream of the X1 version and choosing 'Play game' on this page it says the file size but the game itself is still 'unavailable' , while they DID update this page with broadcasts.

Also there ARE a few weapon and clothing packs for the game when i search for Lords of the Fallen, but the game itself...nowhere to be seen.

Preloaded on Steam. I hope my laptop can run it well enough. I wish that there was a countdown on Steam as to when it is unlocked.

The reviews so far have been hovering around a score of 7-8 out of 10 which is what I was expecting.

I'll go ahead and buy it on Steam now.

So after reading some early reviews it seems the game does a lot well for the most part, but suffers from a basic story, no difficulty setting, and some imbalances here and there. It also seems to follow the Shadow of Mordor way and allows you to become overpowered, making the Dark Souls-esque difficult enemies a walk in the park.

Wow, you value reviews that much? If you would have read impressions from people that got it early, you would have realized you should have bought it then.

does anybody know if the game on PC will work fine with 4GB RAM ? Minimum specs say 6GB :really:

Oh no, I learned from some of the Alien Isolation reviews (And other games) that I can't take Reviews from sites too seriously.

The impressions from Youtube channels is what got me interested.

If anything, I was worried about it being a bad port for the PC version. So I held off.

I'm thinking of grabbing this on the ps4. I'm just waiting to see some impressions here.

You might still want to hold off on that. PC gamer noted multiple problems( Crashes often for them) with the PC version in their review.

So goddamn weird...

There IS a patch for the X1 version for some people on Gamefaqs forum, yet i don't get the patch at all. I DO see some real bad framedrops and tearing in several parts though, which is a shame. I just don't get it why i don't get a notification for the patch.

I didn't get a patch either and have experienced all that you mentioned. Have also had the sound for dialogue disappear for awhile. Came across a female character that you could talk to and was just no sound at all throughout that and was coming in and out as I'd enter areas. When I went back later and clicked "Talk" with her I could hear her but it was just a basic "Oh you again" and that was the end of that. Hopefully I/we will get the patch soon.

Ok good to know i am not the only one, At first i thought maybe the Xbox One didn't show the patch on top of the normal 5.5 GB, but i doubt that. I never checked for other games, but i expect we'd see that. I've been visiting Gamefaqs boards for both X1 and PS4 versions and both versions have their problems, some have lots of tearing constantly and crashes. So i think we can consider ourselves lucky with just a bit of tearing, framedrops...but no crashes yet. :)

I did have one crash - hopefully will be my only one!

Definitely on my short-term radar. I just have to finish Mordor first. Stupid Diablo 3 has kept me busy since launch and isn't leaving me any room for other games lol.

Diablo 3 is amazing on Console. Anyways, I am loving LoTF! I have a str character and a dex guy. Runs great on my laptop. No crashes in 8 hours.

I played for like an Hour and didnt have any crashes yet.

So far so good.

12 hours with zero crashes. So, from what I've played so far. Easy mode equals raising endurance so you can wear the heaviest armor(much more important than in Dark Souls, raising Faith to use some phat weapons(not sure where I got it but have a fire staff that scales with Faith that more than doubled my damage.), and to raise magic so you can cast more often, grinding for spell points to get Prayer and Shelter from the Cleric tree(the only spell tree I've tried). Cast Prayer on single hard hitting enemies to make them attack a mimic while you go to town on them or Shelter to just go kamikaze on groups while healing continuously.

My rogue is having issues, I think I will go back to him when I become an expert. Light armor plus weaker weapons equals death for me at this time. I think I will eventually play this game like I eventually played Dark Souls. Light and quick with no shield. Too noobish at this game for that to work still.

FYI, the descriptions for some spell are off so try them out to find out what they really do. I guess it's because of bad translations? Also, a handy tip, you can save and refill potions while maintaining your XP multiplier. The tutorial actually says that if you save you lose it so more misinformation, lol.

What is your spec?

That pretty high spec, In a separate thread, you mentioned you game on they laptop 17" screen. I suggest getting a 24" or higher (like I do) bro & connect via HDMI, & play on the 24", make a big difference.

Haven't had any more crashes, just the one in the first few hours. I'm enjoying the game more and more, not loving it like I did the Dark Souls games but maybe that will change the further I get into it!

So finally had my first two crashes. The 3rd boss weapon on my faith build. It has a special Nito attack with RT while one handing it. When that connects with an enemy instant game freeze while my controller vibrates itself apart, lol. Anyway, I have a better weapon now so no more temptations.

I hook it up to my 42" at home.

Had two crashes within 10 minute of killing the very first boss. Updated my GPU drivers after that but went to bed. I'll play tonight, hopefully I don't have any more issues.

Game is pissing me off big time right now. Have had two crashes during the same boss battle where I'm fighting a duo and in both cases had one guy just about eliminated, game crashes and I'm not sent back to the beginning of the boss battle but back to the beginning of a very long interactive segment. Very frustrating!!

Also have a quest where I've accomplished what is required but can't get the other character to interact with me again.

Picked this up on the ps4. It's great. One of my favourite games of this gen so far. A must have for anyone who likes Dark Souls. It's no where near as hard or frustrating, but it's very easy enjoyable and the combat is bone crunching.

Played this at a friend's house today. Complete garbage.
