You have multiplatform games in the Xbox section. Anyone else in favor of Xbox/PS/Other console being merged? I don't see the point in segregating anymore. If it is all together all the threads will get more visibility. Just pin your Xbone, PS4, Wii U, PC threads at the top.

If separate platform forums continue, everything contained within them should be specific to that platform or game exclusive.
Merging everything would be easier on the mods. But that would also mean mixing the multiplatform gamers with the crazy 1-platform fanboys...which means more arguments.

I agree, blue. I saw the BF4 thread in the XBD and thought it odd that it wasn't posted in the OCD since it's multiplat.

I don't agree that the subforums should be merged, but the multiplatform game threads should be merged together and put in the Multi-platform sub forum.

I don't know about this one. I kind of think on a video game website it's nice to let the fans of certain consoles have a place to essentially call their own.

it's silly that i'm buying the ps3 version of gta but have to go into the xbox section to discuss it, as that's where the heap of conversation is being had. it's a game for gamers, why divide the conversation? -- that's a the mantra that should be applied in my opinion. it's nice to have a more general view on gaming and opinions as everyone is put into the same metling pot, as opposed to never hearing about ps3/pc/wii news because you may not be inclined to open that sub-forum.

i'm strongly in favour of the forums being merged.

I'm not sure if this type of forum allows it but at WCG you can specify if a game is for either console/PC or multiplatform and it has the icon at the beginning. We can do that then I say it may be worth merging them unless this forum really takes off and gets too busy.

I totally agree

I'd like gaming to be all in one, until such a time that things were moving off the first page in less than a day.

I'm not sure I see the need for a reviews subforum. It was a wasteland at TXB. People post reviews/impressions within the game discussion threads, usually.

I tend to agree that it would be simpler to just have a single Games Discussion forum, rather than trying to constantly parse out what belongs in a platform exclusive forum and what belongs in a multiplatform forum. It might annoy people who want to read only Xbox info or PS info, however. Still, even those people would have to go to the Mulitplatform section to read about most of their games anyhow, which means they'd have to mix with people who didn't share their views (oh noes). Overall, I think the single Games Discussion forum is simpler and better.

I think if we keep a Xbone Discussion thread, PS4 discussion thread, PC discussion thread, and Tickle Fight thread pinned at the top, you'd have your respective threads easily visible. Everything else is pretty much game discussion, and if idiots want to go into a Ryse thread that have no intention of buying Xbone, well, I'll just have to take care of those people.

following this train of thought (which i agree with) the segregated off-topic section also seems a bit arbitrary and would work better if merged

I'm ok with the video game merge, but I wouldn't want the Off Topic to be merged. Mainly for selfish sentimental reasons.

Merging the Video Game Discussions categories seems like it might be a good idea, at least for now. And I agree with Anderson; there's no need for a separate 'Reviews' category.

Might it be possible to add a 'Retro' or 'Past-Gen' category though (or some other name, same idea)? I would love to see this, so that topics on older games aren't quickly buried and unnoticed under a mountain of topics related to the new systems and games (which will be vastly more popular). I for one still play a lot of older titles, and I'm sure other gamefans in our community do too. It would be great to have a dedicated category for us to wax nostalgic. A category like this could attract a lot more users of a certain ilk too, and I think it would make our little gaming forum even more legit :) I guess then it'd just be a matter of deciding whether this category should include 360/PS3-era games or not...

Anyways, just an idea. Perhaps there isn't enough traffic to justify it yet, but it's something that'd be great to see eventually.

I think the Xbox, Playstation, PC should have their separate sub forums for respective news, info, exclusive/1st party games, etc. All multiplatform games should be posted in the multi console subforum. I think for the most part the fans of either system keep together in their subforum, merging them all together might increase the possibility of unwelcome outcomes imo

Until we reach like much much greater amount of activity, I'd like to have all subforums merged for all the platforms, it would be easier to read 2 sub-forums instead of 4-5.

yuck. The old way was better. Don't prefer to wade through Sony posts or other platform posts. Please go back to the old way, as this audience is predominately an Xbox one.

Your old Xbox-specific forum is just one click away.

Those prefixes are great.

Agreed. I really like the prefix concept; very cool.

prefixes are cool but extremely large, ugly and shouldn't be placed in thread title. i'm aware the implementation is more important than the aesthetic at this point, but just thought i would point that out :)

There's an ability to add images to them but it would take a lot of time.

it's moreso about the badges being in the thread title as that makes reading the actual titles very uneven and awkward. placing them under the little blue dot may be more appropriate

Or even have another column to the right of the title and to the left of Start Date.
