Hopefully itās transferable, but I doubt it, itās been a thing for Sony to system lock the drive to the motherboard, like apple does with their ram
Hopefully, maybe theyāll do what most apps or like apple/ms do with their os and you get a few times to transfer. Cos it would totally look bad if you want to repair it and Sonys like ānah bruh, you send it to us, pay for shipping, packaging and weāll give you a an estimate of how many days to weeks well repair it in oh and thatāll be a hundred just for the repair.āHm. Maybe it tells you to login to your account then pairs a license with that disc drive. If you want to switch, you need to log into new console and then pair it again there ?
Not having the option to change consoles seems foolish.
I don't even know why anyone is making an issue out of this. Anyone that could possibly experience a negative outcome from this is a single fish in the entirety of all oceans combined.Hm. It is foolish, but they already do it now. They havenāt made any statement as to just allowing you to use your own. Say the ps6 comes out and itās only digital but you got a ton of physical games, would be cool if Sony would allow you to use the current drive in the new ps5 slim on the ps6ā¦.whatever is the case I just hope Sony does the right thing and keeps it easy too

Go go play games people.
Yeah, but some media and trolls on the internet are making too much of a big deal out of this. I guarantee every single person that buys a PS5 has internet.I don't think anyone is. Just discussion as to what they could be doing in the future for the long term outlook of the product.
I mean if that is a factory reset, it's doing exactly what it is supposed to do. It will be like a brand new system that resets it to the factory level. Meaning all the firmware, Dualsense updates are all gone too.
imagine if you're resetting your MacBook to factory and your Bluetooth headphones or iPhone files is still connected to it when you want to resell or trade in.
Wish Sony wouldāve let us know before hand, glad itās a thing, for now
Itās almost as they designed the blades on purpose to keep it unpleasing to the eyes even if thereās aftermarket kits for itā¦..Still ugly
