Next Battlefield Is A "Reimagination" Of The Series
After Battlefield 2042 came up short, it looks like EA is shaking things up for the next game.

Just remake BF2 and put destruction in. Done.Another reimagining of Battlefield? This should be interesting. How about Just make it good.
It wouldn't shock me at all. EA is still chasing that wet dream and what better guy to do it than Vince Zampella.Bet they make it more like COD.
One of their guys did an interview with Gamesradar and essentially blamed gamers for the failed heroes system. We didn't understand them was the issue, apparently.Bet they make it more like COD.
Maybe he was just talking about Americans not getting it?One of their guys did an interview with Gamesradar and essentially blamed gamers for the failed heroes system. We didn't understand them was the issue, apparently.
Can't fix the problem without recognising the actual problem.
Well that is a givenMaybe he was just talking about Americans not getting it?
They do seem to have a lot of fate in zampella…. maybe he’s bringing people in from his “og team”? I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s members of respawn that worked on battlefield, apex and or fortniteI don't think EA is ever going to put the resources into it. The 2042 maps were massive and had nearly zero destruction. Huge chunks of them had no cover. The phrase "walking simulator" wasn't wrong.
There's a reason they took the time to rebuild every map.
I don't think that was their "vision" but just EA scrimping on resources.
2042 had a lot of problems, but at the end of the day, it felt scaled back.
Unless EA is going to go "all in" with studios and make maps with destruction, nothing will change. BF V could have been better had they actually gotten more content done.

Remake BF2 with destruction. Instant win.The problem is they need to throw resources into making a great AAA game. Run a scaled down budget and get a scaled down game.

I don’t even think it’s the same guys, many have come and gone? They recently lost Marcus Letho.I feel these guys have burned too many bridges.
I used to get so pumped for a new BF game.
I know, but the blue print for a great BF game is right under their noses. Yet time and time again they ignore it. So the saying "back to the roots" means nothing as they clearly don't know what the roots are.I don’t even think it’s the same guys, many have come and gone? They recently lost Marcus Letho.
Pretty much. This past release of BF and COD both have encouraged me to never buy another of either.
Exactly this. I pre-bought 5 and 2042 under this assumption, especially becuase I loved 3, 4, and 1 so much.I know, but the blue print for a great BF game is right under their noses. They have such an easy path to a great game too. Yet it never materialises.
I put my least amount of time in a BF ever with BFV and the newest one. I also really liked BF3, BF Hardline, BF4, and BF1. Put a lot of time into BF1 when I got my One S BF1 edition that came with the game. Pre-ordered BFV was hyped then I lasted a few weeks then would only come back every now and then.Exactly this. Apparently they were on track to 'expand on the roots' with 2042 but the suits wanted them to make it more like COD, which is why a lot of the OGs left early in development.
I still believe they can deliver a great game because as you said 'the blueprint' is there. But I definitely won't be pre-buying again.
