Typically won't be as powerful so that's why I was saying this seems to be the handheld device processor MS will be using.
Got it. Cuz it sounded like it wouldn't be a good idea for an all new console.

Yeah the jump in technical leap is probably for something else. And if they haven't signed a deal with AMD already maybe they will with Nvidia and that will be interesting BC imagine the next Xbox consoles being able to use DLSS , FrameGen etc 👀

I thought consoles were Nvidia GPUs whilst the CPU is AMD?

Could they run a seperate chip that’s Intel based dedicated to AI like they do with their havok physic chip? Or is the latter still a thing or was it ever a thing?

No both last gen and this gen it was AMD based for both the CPU and GPU. Yeah, definitely more AI based , I think we will see more of that already with the Pro.

OG Xbox was Nvidia and it was a disaster. It was why they moved to 360 so quick.Been AMD ever since.

Same I have a pretty big library I could take on the go and play GP on WiFi anywhere would be nice.
Well you’d need wifi for online games or to stream games, otherwise you could just download a game to it and play it off of their.

My one concern would be the primary/home console. Would Xbox allow you to add a second one if it’s the portable or would it just work if you just login. And would it, really they should, allow multiple accounts?

Does the Steamdeck allow multiple accounts and let others access the games of the primary/parent user?

No clue about the multiple accounts thing.

And MS/XB would need a Family plan. Like on our Switch we have the family plan with 5 accounts that can play all the digital games I own and can play online. I wouldn’t mind paying a little more for a Family plan with multiple accounts, GP Ultimate, and with my full library of games.

Xbox live family plan from the x360 era was the best.

For them but not the consumers/fans :( if they passed it on, then good on them.

It’s crazy we haven’t seen a price drop on either tho.
Some people don’t care about games. They care about corporate profit and revenue.

Next gen Xbox?

Mid gen refresh but not quite a refresh. More like same model but refreshed, with same core components but more efficient energy wise kind of like what Sony did with the the die and power efficiency improvements.

But is that necessary for a dev kit if the out come of the same? I could understand if it was a pro variant or something totally new.

Phil said they not doing Pro variant though? Unless next gen Xbox is coming out soon later this year or next?
True, but he didn’t say anything against a mid gen refresh or update like they’ve done before, like how they increased the storage, or updated the internals for build cost, like every console maker has done so far. Granted I don’t see them passing the savings on, at least until their temporary winter holiday sales.

Yeah which is why I think may be is new mid gen refresh model for power efficiency purposes.

Probably, the only reason I’d see a new one coming is all the added features that were listed in their court documents, so that would help with development as it’d be native to the platform.

But I’ve been told it’s kinda the norm to have different version of the dev kits, so probably nothing.

Who knows beyond those that do, not I 😆
