Nintendo Super Thread of General Discussion

3ds stole the show as usual but I would give it a 9/10, lack of WiiU release dates keeps it from being perfect

Oh, that was pretty good!

Bayonetta 2 looked amazing, X looked unbelievably great, and the 3DS games coming looked dope.

Disappointed that we didn't get a Majora's Mask announcement, and Mario Kart's release date is a bit far off.

Nice they need to give us Metroid Zero as well.

It's not so much the wit and smartass comments as when they do take themselves seriously. Just some of the words the New Yorker is saying is stuff that should never come out of a New Yorkers mouth. Especially with that specific accent. It just drives me insane for some reason and makes me want to punch something.

Pretty interested in Yoshi's New Island, honestly. Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze looks good, too.

Pretty interested in too many damn games with a backlog from hell. And the Olympics aren't helping.

Never owned a GBA so looking forward to this

I don't suppose Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers for the GBA is playable is it? Played it back when I had a GBA and it was great for me. Poured so many hours into it.

I doubt it. From the list I have seen it is all 1st party Nintendo games at this point.

Gamespot have DKCTF a 6/10. They must need traffic on their site.

That would be cool but we had one last gen, so hopefully they are working on a new Star Fox. Or both.
Not for nothing, but the new Super Smash Bros is gonna have the Punch Out guy in the game. It'd be pretty sweet if they could get Mike Tyson in this game as well. Same moves and what not.

Must not have been enough QTE to get the reviewer past the boss battles
To be fair, the average reviews simply say the levels are simply a bit more straightforward and less creative than before. At the end of the day, it's about seven reviewers out of twenty-four saying this. Everyone else thinks the game is awesome. (according to metacritic)

Funny that Gamespot really looks like they're begging for attention. I understand that people have opinions, but some reviewers that don't like a game, shouldn't be reviewing it. There's a huge difference between a game you didn't like and just a BAD game.

Example: I am not the biggest fan of the Uncharted series but are they bad games? No, they're amazing games filled with amazing moments and technical achievements, but they don't adhere to my tastes and that's okay.

Could not agree more.

OH I don't mind if they had given it a 7 with the remarks they gave, but only if Gamespot gave 7's more often.

It is that Gamespot usually is quick to hand out 9's and 8's tot he likes of Call of Duty or other games that are 13 in a dozen. It just shows to me that it is not about likes but more about just trying to get clicks and loving the current Hate Train against anything that isn't Sony.

Eurogamer is another such example, but I dislike them to begin with as they started the pixelcounting last generation. They tend to give 9's for Graphically impressive Techdemos... rather than well designed gorgeous looking games that use new technology just for that, making things look stylish and well designed.

Kirby b****es

Yoshi

My poor wallet, she is suffering so much these days :p. DKC: Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros, Kirby:Triple Deluxe, Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton, X, Bayonetta 2, etc.

All in this year ;). I just hope Wonderful 101 was a big enough success to warrant a Wonderful 102 :D. That game had me in stitches half the time :p.
