Info about Tomb Raider sales:

- The 2013 Tomb Raider has sold more than 11 million units worldwide.
- The 2015 sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider has shifted nearly seven million units.

CEO says that their earlier expectations for TR sales were way too high. He also makes some comments about their struggling SP franchises, such as Deus Ex, Hitman, and Thief.

Of course they worked - they're still running a GPU and CPU from the same generation and they just shut down GPU resources and clocked down the CPU so they had essentially identical hardware. You can do that when the GPU and CPU are the same generation and the RAM is the same. But the CPU in a PS5 will almost certainly be a later generation, the GPU will absolutely have to be to make it worthwhile, and the RAM will be different (possibly even a different type). That's not a situation where you can simply shut down some cores and downclock and present your new hardware as old hardware.
 
UK Black Friday data:

On console hardware and looking specifically at combined sales units of PS4 and Xbox One hardware, this Black Friday week was more successful than last year, up around 3% compared to week 47, 2016. Standout success on PS4 hardware specifically which beat all previous PS4 Black Friday weeks except for Black Friday 2013 (week 48 ) which was also PS4 launch week.

PSVR headset sales are huge this week, on a par with launch week (wk 41/2016) and this week is the equivalent of the past 18 weeks of PSVR sell-through.

PSVR benefitted from drastically reduced pricing. Hopefully the adoption rate continues to climb so we get a v2.0.
 
Nintendo won't have stock for s***. They're only estimating 5.5-6m shipped til next March (unless they increase their projections again) . To keep up with MS and Sony they will need that this quarter.

4m for this quarter and 2M for next quarter ain't gittin it dun.

I imagine it will sell like PS3/Xbox One in 2007/2014 - 80-100k ish, which is bad on its own...but combined with S would put it over 220k per month which can be #1 some months.

And we are back to normality in the UK. Playstation will be top dog this gen and I don't think that can change except maybe in the US.
 
Xbox One S just sold out at Amazon finally.

Going to be a remarkable Holidays for all 3.

Xbox One X is like only console available besides the PS4 Star Wars bundle at Amazon now lol.

Pretty crazy.

edit- Actually the Star Wars ps4 bundle is sold out too, wow. So only Xbox One X is available on Amazon.

Yeah, the bundles were a great deal. Still, matching the launch weeks' sales is pretty impressive.

Well, a lot of this was due to Sony dropping the price to $199 for the week. $199 really brings in the crowds. I wonder what will happen when they raise the price back up.

It'll be interesting to see November overall numbers, both US and UK. I'm still thinking Xbox family comes out on top in November, given the ~ 500K preorders stacked up. It's hard to overcome that kind of lead.

VR probably be real cheap next year I'm guessing. Skyrim looked interesting this year though if you aren't burnt on buying the game for the 100th time haha.

I don't know that number. I'm assuming the CEO is talking WW, not just US, although I don't know for sure.

Sony will put out numbers, but it may take a while. 'till Jan, possibly.

I saw some available last week. I think it has to do with people canceling an putting them back into inventory. I imagine the allotment that MS gave out is all they will make but it seems some are still in the pipes.

I seen it for $680 range on Amazon quite a bit. Those Scalpers. Hate it.

Should just get a regular anyways, I've heard most of the issues with the X have been Scorpio unless its just because more Scorpios were sold at first than Regular. So Regular may have that same paste issue lol.
