Never heard of Puffin, but I have been thinking about trying Firefox.Puffin,Firefox
If you have the money I'd say get a Pro first then a One X and hold off on the switch until their 1st party library builds up a bit more. Sony's exclusives alone are worth the purchase of the Pro over the One X and you can get it for $349 right now, it makes a big enough difference in games like Horizon ZD to make it worth buying that over the base console if you can, they have a ton of exclusives already announced that look to be very high quality and you get access to improved (over the base console) versions of all of the best 3rd party games as well.
The One X is a great 3rd party machine, I have it basically for that reason alone but if you like MS exclusives that gives you even more reason to get one. I never played Gears 4 on the vanilla console but the IQ is very nice on the One X, too bad the game is boring AF to play lol, at least for me it is
The Switch seems to have a couple of really well received 1st party games but how long before anything else worth having comes out on it? Nintendo releases are few and far between and they already released a Mario and Zelda game on the machine so I would think holding off and putting your time into the other big games that were released on the PS4/X1 consoles would be good enough for a while.

The Pro feels like a bit of a mis step. It's my main PS4 unit and I do really appreciate the improvements. But the base PS4 put out such good image quality that Pro doesn't feel like the upgrade that it should sometimes.
I'd go PS4 base, X1X then Switch if I didn't have any of the consoles.
Unless you're interested in VR, which I am (I'll get it soonish) then Pro would make a lot of sense. Also, if you have a really nice 4k TV, it would be worth it as well.
I'm just glad console sales aren't dead like some anticipated.Nice to see new blood in the Sales thread, though. Usually it's just a few people in here. I imagine the release of XB1, combined with Black Friday and the holiday season, gets people around here more focused on sales data than they normally would be.
My bet is 1 Xbox, 2 Switch, 3 PS4, but as Mark Twain said, it's difficult to make predictions, especially about the future. It should be an interesting holiday. Hopefully we'll get good hardware data.

What if I don't care about first party games?
Any theories as to why hardware sales still make for popular threads? I get it for the first year or two but haven't the patterns kind of warn a groove at this point?
PS4 Pro has been selling horribly. It took a fire sale for it to be in the monthly for November. Star Wars PS4 Pro Bundle never even made top 100 on Release day.
"U.S. retailers raked in a record $7.9 billion in online sales on Black Friday and Thanksgiving, up 17.9 percent from a year ago."
TVs, laptops, toys and gaming consoles - particularly the PlayStation 4 - were among the most heavily discounted and the biggest sellers, according to retail analysts and consultants.

You can't say stuff like that cause people get upset.Yeah PS4 wins BF but MS win the month cause of Xbox one x launch.
all 3 will do good though and that's all that matters.
Sorry about the Pro but Sony pissed me off with that just as bad as xbox one original launch with the kinect. As not including a 4k player to play movies was a bad PR move. So I want it to fail.
Yeah, that's not a good attitude. It's sort of console warriorish. Wanting the other guy to fail.
I don't get the furor about 4K players. Eh.
I see switch winning.Yeah PS4 wins BF but MS win the month cause of Xbox one x launch.

I have all 3 systems, its just I never buy a Pro because of Sony's greed on that decision.
I mean my xbox plays 4k movies anyways but I just feel Sony ripped people off with the PRO by not including it. I guess the Companies learn though as I'm sure they got feedback on it. So hopefully next gen they don't make the same mistakes.
I see switch winning.
Oh, no, this is a very unique time. Makes sense that there is unusual interest this season. We've got the Switch, plus new hardware from MS.
But holidays are always a popular time to talk about sales.
I hear you I guess. I just don't see anything different than what most of us already expected.
The XBox One and PS4 are neck and neck, which has been the case ever since Microsoft dropped the price to $399.
The XBox One X is selling out because new consoles always sell out and it's holiday shopping season.
The Switch is selling gangbusters because it's been selling gangbusters since launch and it's a Nintendo console during the holiday shopping season.
I just don't think anything is really interesting at this point.
