Bro wtf, Spidey still charting almost 3 years after launch 😂
Nice to see GT 7 and Ragnarok up there too

I wonder if there were some sales that made that game, as well as Forspoken and Saints Row move up? Maybe because the new Spider-Man is coming out? Saints Row just had DLC released, so maybe that is why it jumped?

Probably jump in hardware sales leading to more people buying them up again.

Not a good sign for AW2 even if you ignore the busy release week
The first game didn't do well, it just had a small, loyal fanbase that was vocal online. I played the remaster and couldn't get into it, the gameplay was just ok, the flashlight thing was just silly, batteries last longer than 2 minutes lol and AW as a character was just unlikeable. I like the setting but that's about it. I don't have high hopes for this sequel.

Funny thing is streaming is struggling too, too many services and not enough content to keep people signed up. I just cancelled my Disney Plus sub and Peacock. They haven't figure out how to make money in streaming yet and I'm not sure that they will.

I haven't been subscribed to TV cable for a while now I think since 2017/2018? Don't miss it at all. Netflix/disney/the internet met all my streaming needs . We have even cancelled Netflix last year since they did not allow the sharing thing . Might be doing the same for Disney in 2024...

The first Alan Wake (prior to releasing on PS) sold well. With American Nightmare DLC, it sold over 4.5 million copies. It has a big loyal fanbase.

Alan and Barry were very likeable characters, and the flashlight was a nice change of pace and unique. Story was excellent and was the setting.

That said, based on what we have seen with Control, and everything shown with AW2, I don't have hope for this sequel. It is looking like a sequel by name only. Looking woke too by forcing a female lead.

European Monthly Charts #1 PS5 +244% #2 Switch -9% (over July last year) #3 Xbox -?

Source - gamesindustry.biz
11.6 million console and PC games were sold in July across Europe, up 34% over the same period in 2022.

Digital downloads represented nearly 7.9 million of that (up 60%), while physical was 3.75 million (up 0.2%).
The highest charting new game was Nintendo Switch exclusive Pikmin 4 at No.11 (please note, Nintendo first-party games do not include digital download figures). It may not look like a particularly strong debut, but for the first two weeks on the market, Pikmin 4 sales are up 81% compared with what Pikmin 3: Deluxe managed in October 2020.

Nintendo Switch finished the month in second place, with sales down 9% compared with July 2022. Year-to-date, Nintendo Switch sales are flat compared with 2022.
PS5 comfortably led the month in Europe, with console sales up 244% over July last year. There were strong price promotions on PS5 in July, and as a result sales were also up 24% over June. Overall, year-to-date PS5 sales are up 203% across the tracked territories.

2023 YTD best sellers

The legs for FF16 are crazy. Number 5 and still number 9 for the year. Selling more than Pikmin 4 in its debut month. That will trigger many people on the internet.

Woa...Activision, unstoppable with Diablo and COD in there. And Minecraft still charting 12 years later for XGS. Let's go!
