Official Comic Book Thread

I talked about it in the thread the Max Series was really good. I enjoyed it very much. It's a shame they stooped as when Garth Ennis lift it the new writer did two arcs I think and man they were really really good then they ended the series :(

Bought the first 12 comics of the Max series, as well as the comics from 2000-2001 , 2001-2003 and minus the Army of one (2002 ?) as have that from before, but after what I read don`t think I will pick up any of the more recent comics, Franken-castle ?

Edit:

Ended up buying the rest of the Max series as well, now only missing the Born comic (heard good things about it)

The series is just pure over the top fun. I really miss that in comics just pure fun. over the years that has seemed to die and they got all forking serious for a few years but now seems the fun market is coming back. I've been reading a lot of comics as of late. Working on Northlanders right now and reading Nail bater and man is that good.

Image seems to have been really hitting it out of the park with their comics as of late so I'm looking more at their stuff it's adult without being over the top. I highly recommenced reading Saga.

Well I'm done all 116 issues of Invincible HA that s*** is so good. Reading the superman story line doomed now where he has the doomsday virus or something. The pacing is just god awful and the flow holy s*** is it bad. I've no read much of the new 52 stuff but from what I've read so far it sucks.

I'm not a big DC fan, but I've read a little bit. The Flash and Swamp Thing are pretty good. Justice League Dark was also pretty decent IMO. The main Justice League book is a mess though, every other issue ties in with some event that you have to read another comic to understand.

Reading Deadpool, to me it started some slow, then around issue 20 it got really interesting, and from there it just keeps getting better and better (read to issue 65) of Volum 1 (1997-2002).

Has anyone read the newest title of Star Wars (Marvel), lately? I've thought about stepping away from Wolverine for a while and start diggin' into something new. Star Wars came in my mind. I like Star Wars. There are currently three Star Wars titles: Star Wars, Star Wars: Darth Vader and Star Wars: Princess Leia. Due to my low budget, I prefer to follow the regular Star Wars title. So what's your thought? I like Jason Aaron as a writer (he did excellent job with Wolverine & The X-Men).

Reading on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ( IDW Publishing ):

The first three issues of the main book have felt like Star Wars to me. It is hard to nail down, but the last Star Wars title seemed very detached and boring. This feels like Empire did where it starts you right in the middle of the action, and then goes on dig deeper.

Red Sonja, Batman zero year, Red hood lost days, Fables (close to the end now, got to wait for issue 150), Spawn (the oldest issues was the best 1-100 and I did like some of the stories after, around 120, 170-174 and some issues after that), Groo vs Conan (Oh love the humor) and The Walking Dead (read to 132).

Darth Vader is amazeballs. The main Star Wars title is solid, but again, it's the same Original Trilogy story being retold yet again. If you're looking for a new story you aren't familiar with, this isn't the way to go. Princess Leia is only a mini-series, but I've heard both good and bad about that one. Darth Vader is definitely the way to go. And issue #5 comes out this week. So much excite!

Currently trying to read through Marvel's Original Sin and then Axis to finally catch up to Secret Wars.

The problem I have with Marvel events is that they always start out quite good, but then lose momentum the longer they go on. Orignal Sin ended up being okay, but I wasn't a fan of Axis. Secret Wars has been really enjoyable thus far (it had better be at $4.99 per issue). But to my knowledge, only the first two issues will be marked at that price point.

So are you just a Marvel / DC guy, or do you like indy books, too? Because I think right now, Image is easily the best publisher out there.

I read (read = buy but about 238928 issues behind) Saga, Wytches, Fuse, and Clone, although I think Clone is over as I haven't gotten a new one in a while. Otherwise the other stuff I read:

Batman
Gotham by Midnight
All-New X-Men
Uncanny X-Men
Guardians of the Galaxy
Nova
Cyclops (I just randomly pick these up)

I think that's it...

I rarely read what I have as it is. I'm about a year behind on all of my comics lol

may be a good thing. Looking at DC and marvel right now seems their comics are god damn awful right now.

The Hickman books have been solid, and quite readable. As well as Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and Silver Surfer. I'm looking forward to seeing what the Marvel universe looks like after Secret Wars.

Very enjoyed this comic series, also nice that they have given the martians a well reason to hate humans.

Welp I'm going to make the decision to cancel my pull list. I just never read anything. I *think* I will continue to just pick up Saga and hopefully find time for one book lol.

Since sale on comixology, I did buy Y the last man and American Vampire.
