New updates rolling very soon!

Greetings Neverwinter Xbox One Adventurers! Over the past month, we have welcomed quite a few of you to the Forgotten Realms as you explore dungeons and battle dragons. Our team is absolutely ecstatic about what we delivered in one of the first MMORPGs to come to the Xbox One.

Since launch, we have been actively looking through your comments on forums, Twitter and other channels that the community has delivered feedback through. With your suggestions in mind, we will be delivering the first patch in the coming weeks.

Here are just a few adjustments we are making in the upcoming patch:

  • Race Reroll Tokens – Our first update will address a key bit of feedback that the community has delivered since launch. After updating, adventurers can initiate race rerolls from the character selection screen. Those who purchased the Dragonborn Legend Pack and Dragonborn Race Reroll Bundle will be credited race reroll tokens and can use them immediately after downloading and installing the patch.
  • Auction House – Those looking to sell or purchase items off the Tarmalune Trade House can now use the filters to locate the perfect items quickly. Feel free to trade unwanted loot away for Astral Diamonds!
  • Performance Upgrades – In addition to our weekly maintenance, which helps our systems run smoothly, we are constantly gathering updates from the community to improve performance and deliver a living MMORPG experience to console players. We have made several changes in an effort to improve performance through this update. The Cryptic team is also actively working on additional longer term performance fixes.
  • Comparing Companion Gear – Similar to comparing character equipment, adventurers can now compare items equipped, such as rings, on companions. The tooltip will no longer compare the item to your character’s equipped item.
  • Confirmation Added to Leaving Group – A confirmation will appear prior to leaving a group. No longer will adventurers accidentally leave a group while rolling on loot!

Our team will have further updates including full patch notes and release date for Update 1.1 in the coming weeks. Stay tuned onTwitter, Facebook and our forums for more information.

As always, please feel free to continue to deliver feedback via our forums.

Happy Adventuring!

Patch Notes 1.1

Greetings adventurers,
Here are the patch notes for tomorrow's maintenance:

Usability
• Added a confirmation window when you leave a team.
• While a PVP match is in progress, the scoreboard is now available by pressing X on the PVP scores in the HUD.
• Added map icons for the control points in PVP domination maps.
• The Astral Diamond Exchange action flow has been updated to be more consistent with other screens in the game.
• In the Astral Diamond Exchange, the price field will now default to the current best price. This is a fair guess for a value that will make your transaction complete quickly.
• In the Astral Diamond Exchange, the listings are now sorted by best price at the top.
• Items now have tooltips in the Tarmalune Trade House “My Consignments” tab.
• The Tarmalune Trade House button in the main menu has been moved from the "Items" category to the "Store" category.
• Improved tooltips for currencies in the store footer.
• The currencies in the footer of a store window are now navigable so you can see their tooltips.
• The item context menus in the Change Item Appearance window will now always disappear when the parent window disappears.
• The drop-down menus in the Team Loot Mode window have been fixed.
• In the crafting window, the position of required asset and ingredient numbers have been moved below the icons so they are more readable.
• The detail text of Zen Market items is now scrollable.
• The interaction of the scoreboard with other pop-up windows has been adjusted for consistency.
• Added the ability to clear a ward slot in the Item Refinement window.
• In the Item Refinement window, a tooltip was added to the ward slot to make it clearer when a ward purchase isn't possible.

Miscellaneous Bug Fixes
• Added Race Rerolls, accessible by pressing A on the Character Select screen. Previous Race Rerolls purchases will be immediately available.
• Fixed Tarmalune Trade House advanced search options and filters. You can now more easily find that Epic quality, Level 25 "Toothpick of Beholder-bothering +4" with 5 Offense Slots and +Critical Strike usable by Trickster Rogues.
• Fixed the navigation of search fields in the Browse tab of the Tarmalune Trade House.
• Fixed moving to a teammate's map instance from their character portrait on the HUD.
• The Astral Diamond Exchange screen has been updated to correctly display all top listings.
• Restored the missing sound when a Zen Market purchase is made.
• Corrected the display of campaign tasks to no longer show “N/0” when the task is infinitely repeatable.
• Fixed a problem with some drop-down menus which were increasing infinitely in width on some resolutions.
• Fixed the position of the "Your Hit Points are low" tutorial tip.
• Guild Information (like Message of the Day) will now save when navigating way from the text entry field.
• Fixed several cases where strings would be truncated unnecessarily.

• Fixed additional infrequent crashes.
• Implemented several background performance and stability improvements.
• Fixed some issues with the stability of the game servers.
• Addressed issues with communication between Neverwinter servers and Xbox Live.

Neverwinter: Underdark Coming in 2015

This morning, in conjunction with Wizards of the Coast, we announced our newest module release for Neverwinter – tentatively titled Neverwinter: Underdark – which will release for PC in 2015 withXbox One to follow. Although we can’t give you all the details now, we can say that Neverwinter: Underdark will see players travelling to Menzoberranzan where adventurers will fight alongside Drizzt Do’Urden. We will also be adding a new quest line written by Drizzt’s creator, R.A. Salvatore.

We are very excited to visit another iconic setting in the Dungeons & Dragons lore. With some of our team are working on pre-production for Neverwinter: Underdark, the team as a whole is still strongly focused on building upon and launching additional content for Neverwinter over the coming months prior to this module’s release.

Stay tuned here and on Twitter as we announce additional details throughout the year.

As Scott Shicoff mentioned earlier, the development team is taking a “hard look at Neverwinter: Elemental Evil” to see what improvements can be made. We do not have additional details for upcoming changes at this time, but stay tuned as the team assesses the situation and makes any possible changes.

We also teased Neverwinter: Strongholds, which will launch prior to Neverwinter: Underdark. This module expansion will bring several new features and content updates including guild housing. We will have more information regarding Neverwinter: Strongholds in the near future.

As always, feel free to discuss this latest Neverwinter update in the forums. We’ll be keeping our eye out for feedback.

Spent roughly 2 hours last night soloing some long-ass dungeon in Blackdagger Ruins (Cragmire Crypts or something?), got all the way to the end to fight some dude named Traven Blackdagger only to realize that there was no way I was going to beat him by myself with the mobs pinging me from all sides. :meh:  I guess you supposed to run the dungeon with a party of five or something. Well, it sucks that I couldn't finish it.

Dude I didn't know you were playing this? What lvl are you, I can try to help.

To keep the drive up, Neverwinter plans to release 5 free expansions (modules) on the XBox One version of the game by the end of the year. These would include Tyranny of Dragons and Elemental Evil, already available on PC.

Neverwinter Xbox One: Rise of Tiamat Coming In June

A new threat arises in Neverwinter, the top free-to-play game on Xbox One in 2015. Announcing Neverwinter: Rise of Tiamat, coming to Xbox One in June. This new expansion brings a 25-person fight against the iconic Dragon Queen – Tiamat – and a brand-new adventure zone to the lands of Neverwinter.

Neverwinter: Rise of Tiamat follows the events of the Neverwinter: Tyranny of Dragons campaign and the upcoming Siege of Neverwinter event, which will be available for Xbox One on June 4 - more information on this event will be posted. As the Cult of the Dragon looks to resurrect the five-headed draconic goddess Tiamat from the Nine Hells, adventurers must band together to prevent the catastrophic takeover of the city of Neverwinter.

The upcoming expansion will also introduce the Well of Dragons – the legendary graveyard of dragons – where players will trek through the arid desert lit only by the scorching sun and take part in a variety of new heroic encounters as they work towards completing the final chapters of the Tyranny of Dragons campaign. Halt any cult activities, slay the dragons who have been summoned and speak with some familiar faces, all while the Temple of Tiamat looms in the distance.

In addition to the new content, our team is also bringing several updates and improvements to the game with the expansion launch. We will have a detailed update on these fixes in the future, but we are looking to implement solutions that will greatly increase the performance and stability of the game as well as making adjustments to the vote-kick feature that is currently in place. Stay tuned to the blog for a specific breakdown in the coming weeks.

Rise to defend the very realms which have welcomed over 1.6 million adventurers and stop the Cult of the Dragon once and for all!

Performance

One of the most important areas for our team to tackle with our launch was the performance issues that players were facing. Our team found and eliminated an intermittent stall of five or more seconds that caused framerate drops for players. In addition to this, we have made other performance improvements that will ensure that 25 adventurers can tackle the five-headed dragon fight without reducing the number of players that the Tiamat fight can handle.

Finally took this game for a test ride. Only got to level 8 and haven't done anything social at all yet, but I do like it a lot. Right now I'm really just treating it more like a traditional RPG instead of an MMO, but I hope to do some stuff with other players soon. Just want to keep leveling up doing some quests first.

i think you hit level 10 to do a dungeon with players. I have ESO but its to boring and this is always fast. The server update is done but the client side haven't been released.

So I haven't played it in a month or so, is the performance improved? That's what made me stop.
