Yes, and this is why you take these things with a grain of salt. The last time they said they met with MS and everything went well and MS liked it. They were surprised when MS cancelled it.
This time they're saying otherwise.
It would be pretty embarrassing to publish the game in house...

It's not a remaster. I'd be happy with a remaster. It's a rerelease and they don't plan on touching the graphics at all. It's really underwhelming and in no way makes up for what they originally announced. At least invest in a full remaster......
It doesn't necessarily sound like a "remaster" based on this interview from E3. Keeping the original graphics and animations and apparently no change to the decks other than giving you a few starter sets so you can jump into online play. It sounds like the only update will be the integration of modern Live features includes clubs and tournaments. I am hoping it is at least wide screen and not letter boxed. Guess on the bright side, its a budget title.

Hmm. I will probably still get this but yeah I was hoping the Graphics were at least going to be 16:9 and 1080p upscanned but seems like 4:3 480p.
Damn, that's probably going to have the opposite effect of the original good will. Thats some lazy bs, and I don't like to use the lazy card
I might get it because I never knew about the original when it was out. But it's pretty weak sauce to just trot out the exact same game rather than at least improving the assets.

Absolutely. I'm willing to overlook this blatant timewasting if he can document, visually, that these twitter sessions only occur when he's taking a dump, and even then I still think he should be testing integration on the Surface because THIS.IS.SRS.
How does that make any sense? Not new assets? Not sure what good old assets would do regardless of wizardry. I mean, Res and Framerate? interest decreasing.
Yeah. Really disappointed how this is being handled. I'll still get it because I loved the game, but man it could have been so much more.
Considering the original incarnation of PD was cancelled, I don't think this new remaster version is going to knock anyone's socks off.
If it's simply an Xbox OG game with a new coat of paint, it seems more like a $19.99 download.
As for the tweet about new or upscaled assets, he may mean a combo of both. Some stuff is upscaled (that wall or rock), but perhaps they are including some other bells and whistles like better lighting, shadows or particle effects and such.

Well, I wasn't impressed by the footage of the remake either, so it's not much of a loss, imo. It could have been an oportunity to push physics destruction with new age flair... Alas...
Don't really care that it's just an HD version of Phantom Dust. Been awhile since i played the game, so definitely looking forward to playing it again with a new coat of paint.
