gotcha.. so the one they show in the video is the older game?
 
The online arena is what made PD truly shine, whether you were playing free-for-all or team battles. The satisfaction of finding new skills as you "grind" was immediately topped by finding new ways to implement those skills into your arsenals. Taking your arsenals against challenging opponents in tense, frantic battles was what it was all about. There was nothing quite like having all the skills in your arsenal work cohesively and constantly striving to get better in "deck building" and use of the environment. It was even better when you had a teammate and your two arsenals worked in tandem. It was, however, one of those experiences that I think you not only had to play, but to push through the first hour or two of the campaign to really appreciate. Make no mistake though, there was never a game like it before, and there hasn't been one since.
 
i will have to keep an eye on this title. I am intrigued, but since i know nothing about the original, I can't really get stoked for it just yet LOL

Don't make a pay to win game and give us the ability to play it in its original form.
 
What they should do is let people sign up for a testing program. Give people footage during development and get reactions.

also Phreaker is a awesome dude if you guys are fans of phantom dust and want a high quality version of it on xbox one, go ahead and post it there all the devs are reading it & if they aren't i'll make sure they do, lol.

I enjoyed the game on the Xbox but those people posting comments REALLY liked the game. I guess I never went that far down the rabbit hole with this game....probably didn't help mp that there were so few copies sold.

I REALLLY liked the game. It's why I REALLLY want fruit costumes in this game. Coconut vs Banana needs to happen.
 
I have no idea what anyone there was talking about, but I wanna like whatever it was.

I've seen footage of the older game before but I think it went over my head back then.
 
Thanks for posting the link Flynn. I saw it on Twitter and signed up here to reply. I too am an old time TXBer (Oct 2001 until the end or when it got unbearably slow). I didn't know about this place until yesterday. I recognize many names. My avatar was the Phantom Dust animated logo from the time the game came out until TXB was gone, if that rings any bells. Anyway, glad to have found this place!

Oh, several of the people commenting in that thread still play the game often and know every minute detail about it. Don't let that stop you from posting though. It's important for them to get feedback from anyone that enjoyed the first game.

Phantom Dust, Otogi and Ninja Gaiden Black were my s***. What makes it even cooler that it luanched at 20.00. People considered Xbox a Halo machine but it had some great games. IMO it's definitly worth owning for all the gems it had. Also Project Gotham Racing 2, Rallisport Challenge 2 and Shenmue 2 are worth a mention.

I will patiently await the inevitable Platinum Games PD revival. Seriously though, it sucks but i believe they will eventually get it out, hopefully it doesn't take two console gens for it to happen.
 
I have no faith in Microsoft to do the right thing with PD. They are full of s*** and we will be lucky as hell if pd ever sees the light of day.
