Played Xbox One and PS4 games and ... tickle fight!

Per nothing, I was being sarcastic and merely pointing out the hilarious small difference between PS3 and 360 game resolutions and the ensuing circlejerk of superiority that followed when one game was 720p and the other was only 710p and how everyone was like "Oh man that's a huge difference in clarity!" *eyeroll*.
I agree that people make a big deal out of little difference but there also were games that had a big difference. At least this gen both systems games are playable.

I wish someone could bring the x1 and ps4 over to my home so i could test them out on my 90" projection screen. I'd want my eyes to be the judge. I haven't had access to x1 in person yet, but i got to try the ps4 on a tiny 46" lcd at a shop. I played a bit of killzone 4 and battlefield 4 sp campaigns, I do somewhat see what you're saying about killzone 4 , it looks good but it's nothing groundbreaking. Bright looking textures but otherwise nothing much of that next gen feel. Infact, i thought bf4 in motion with all of its effects looked more next gen, despite being a cross gen game. The FR on both didn't feel a locked 60 (which it isn't according to DF).

Good for you though that you got hands on with both consoles and preferred the x1. I still haven't decided and will probably decide next march when titanfall on x1 releases as well as the sucker punch game on ps4. It's still early days and jumping to conclusions based on just launch games wouldn't be right. Although if i had to call a winner for just launch titles (based on all the videos i've seen) , i'd say for exclusives, x1 comes off better- ryse has more visual flair and eye candy than any ps4 game. Multiplats come off technically better on ps4 with full hd resolution ,like ac4. Sub 1080p can look a little washed out on large screens (and that sharpening filter actually makes things a little worse).

I see. So this is an X1-leaner who had his doubts, and now those doubt have been put to rest.

Well, that's good. Too much FUD going around. Enjoy your console, Mosquito.

Yep, he was right on that. I actually had not expected to like Ryse so much, but i am actually looking forward to playing it again now. There were also doubts because of the recent rumours that Holland may not be getting the X1 until Q3 2014. But now that MS Holland opened up their service for people with imported consoles, it is no problem. I've always prefered the look of the U.I., controller more of the X1, but because of some negativity doubts started to arise. Thinking that PS4 was the only one able to truly produce insane graphics. That is why i was shocked Killzone actually disappointed us graphically and when Ryse came on...our jaws dropped. And Ryse is not even 100% built for Xbox One, it was a 360 title at some point. Imagine if they make one fully built for X1.

Valliance...you actually think i care what you have to say? Your response says everything about you. In fact a bit childish too. But i was expecting that from you. I was already expecting some bulls*** comments on this cause it really seems...one simply cannot prefer the Xbox One. It just can't. You know what actually? I think i am wrong, there was probably something wrong with my eyes. I'll call my friend and tell him i am coming over again, cause...nah this can't be for real. PS4 is like the only powerful console.....amiright? Hilarious.

I have posted in some PS4 threads. I know for sure i asked some questions in the Killzone thread and maybe some other threads. But nope..the launch of the PS4 didn't interest me one bit, except for Killzone, which i don't anticipate much anymore. I've always prefered Xbox in general, but after some articles and stuff on internet i had my doubts. But after that one day full of next-gen gaming, my decision is final.

Ryse is great don't know why it got slammed so much? Just as repetitive as COD or Mario IMO.

Also for the questions about how i want to play the multiplatform games including some jaggies on a 110 (my friend has 120, not me) inch screen. Well...like i said..i may not even buy BF4. because around the time of March Titanfall is out and one shooter is enough. I also noticed i am a bit tired of BF. Then there's NFS Rivals. Seen some Gamersyde videos and aside from aliasing on the cars it looks pretty identical to me. All else i don't care for. I DO care for DR3, Ryse, KI maybe too, we'll see. Titanfall and probably Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare. All of that are exclusives and to me much more interesting than anything PS4 right now. And i am not getting a PS4 solely for Infamous. It's possible when i eventually have both consoles that i might end up buying multiplats for PS4...but only when there are crystal clear differences.

Mario I don't know, but the game is definitely better than COD SP. It's Medal of Honor all over again; It's better than COD, I don't get the score.

I've been hearing a lot of positive things about the game on this forum and another forum. I have a feeling that the folks who go ''Ryse sucks, horrible gameplay' haven't played nor truly seen it...and they are just parrotting reviewers.

This thread is doing a tour in the forums...

I mean, it's reviewer's job to point out something like that. The game is clearly flawed, score must be deducted. That much is certain. But if you ask me "so is Ryse boring", I'd say, no, somehow it's fun. Not the greatest fun you ever had, you are not going to remember this game two years from now, but it's fun.

I think it started in the multi-plat then this morning it was in the xbox forum now it is in the ps4 forum. What icon did you click for that elusive thread feature?

I remember a mag I used to get that rated the categories of a game out of 5. If you break it down that way Ryse doesn't have that many flaws to drag the score down. It went sort of like this...

Graphics 5
Sound 5
Story 4/4.5
Control 4
Other 2/5 for repetitiveness

Something along these lines. No matter how much you slam a game for 1 category it can't drag this game down that much.

Frankly, the supremacy talk of several Sony fans has been quite laughable for me, because both platforms look worse than PC. Like, 900p on PS4 is still jaggy and blurry compared to performance PC running on 1080p. Console is not for graphics, it's about getting a machine directed for fun with least maintenance possible, and in that regard, both One and 4 are quite similar. Which is the reason I decided to go with One and then buy a new gaming PC to play singleplayer games.
And with some of the multi platform games like bf4 and ghost you get all of the dlc stuff first as well for xbox one. Nice little perk Imo.

That I disagree. Gameplay is the king in gaming, if the game gets boring for repetitiveness it is not a good game after all. The issue with Ryse is that it tries to retain some of the fun and it succeeds to a degree. Wonder why few reviewers noticed that.

If you told me you worked for MS I'd totally believe you and the ps4 power comment? Lol wth just because its the most powerful(and that hurts somes feelings) doesn't mean its powerful.
I'm surprised (well no I'm not) I'm the only one pointing out the obvious bias opinion.

Actually, all you've done is say he's talking bullsh1t, imply he's a MS shill, and make snarky responses. You haven't actually disputed anything he has said. The closest you've come is your second sentence above, which may make sense to you, but is indecipherable to me. "Just because its the most powerful doesn't mean its powerful." What? Why don't you try articulating a specific disagreement with what he is saying, rather than just making empty jabs?

In response to him saying I only think the ps4 is powerful.

Who said i was talking to you when i made the sarcastic comment about PS4 being the only powerful console? I meant that in general. You however did started your comment with nonsense, but that was to be expected. I gave my opinion and it was to be expected that you would reply and say its bulls*** and not take it seriously. I guess you never heard of an opinion.

Exactly man. That is really all he's been doing. If i had been such a MS shill, would i even have complimented the DS4? Hell would i even consider buying the PS4? I am not only considering it, i already know for sure the PS4 will be in my living room next year, just after the Xbox One. If i had lied about Killzone and praised it out of the sky, and the other games too, while honestly....i wasn't that impressed, Valliance would have loved my post.

I had a similar experience in seeing trine 2 on ps4 in person (1080p) and killer instinct (720p) and discovering that I couldn't see a difference in clarity from my seating position on my 65" Panasonic plasma

I'm saying just because the ps4 is more powerful then the x1, it doesn't mean its powerful. In response to him saying I only think the ps4 is powerful.

That actually doesn't address either his point or mine. He is saying he was surprised to find the X1 able to render jaw-dropping graphics. Some people claim PS4 excels here, X1 is inferior. He found the opposite.

So your response is that just because the PS4 is more powerful, doesn't mean it is powerful? Okay...? That doesn't really address what he's saying, unless you're just pointing out that a high-end PC is better ... which is obvious but kind of irrelevant, since he's trying to decide between two consoles.

It also doesn't answer my question, which was "What is your specific disagreement with him?" Which at this point, I'm not sure I want to hear anyway. But it would be nice if you could put aside the snarky attacks and just state what your actual disagreement is with his opinion.

Right. Mosquito posted a bunch of negative news about the XO for a while there. I actually got on em about doing so and so frequently. Seeing him come to this decision leads me to believe, the systems' did the talking. Not the forums.

well if that one category is gameplay.........

Yea in a couple threads mosquito was on the verge of sounding anti xbox, but still open minded undertone of MS related products. Maybe it was all one big setup who knows, impossible to like actually like one system's visuals over another. I remember ppl like gamecube visuals over xbox, so what.

I've got no problem with anything he said, it's all his opinion.

One of the only things I have problems with are posters like astro, flynn, neo, misterx, etc. proclaiming hardware advantages that don't exist. Which he didn't do at all. So no problems here.

Valliance is out of line in this thread.

Who said that was ever a huge difference? It was almost never all that big was for PS3/360 comparisons. The context was different for those disucssions though, and you know it because I've called your bulls*** conflation out in the past for trying to pretend the current discussions were akin to those.

Those discussions were premised on ppl wanting the best versions possible for current gen titles. If the imagery looked better to someone as per the comparison gallery on platform X, they could reasonably get it for that console all other things considered. This time around, however, ppl by and large can't even see a difference in those side by sides (see: BF4, AC4, NFS Rivals, various sports games, etc). Instead the context was about how PS4 was supposedly going to have 50% better visuals in multiplat titles and that most certainly didn't happen in reality. The current discussions aren't about which is better on a technical level or even subjectively so much as they are premised on discussing/debating if there is a meaningful gap worth talking about. Content and the accompanying experience beyond visuals (online experience, SmartGlass companion apps, what friends are playing, controller preferences) is much more important to actual gamers than simple resolution differences that they can't even readily notice in side by side still frame comparisons.

Here's a preview of what you'll see over the coming year. Exclusives look just as good on each and only differ in their artistic competence between studios. On the tech level they will on par and competitive with each other overall. Multiplats will look the same just as they do today. Online experiences will be the differentiator along with companion apps, etc. All in all, it comes down to which IP's ya prefer.
