Played Xbox One and PS4 games and ... tickle fight!

Right. Mosquito posted a bunch of negative news about the XO for a while there. I actually got on em about doing so and so frequently. Seeing him come to this decision leads me to believe, the systems' did the talking. Not the forums.

Right on my friend, right on!

I actually had my fair share of doubts, but after having had time with both consoles, the decision couldn't be more crystal clear. :) BUt damn...i actually sounded almost anti-MS at one point?

Here's a preview of what you'll see over the coming year. Exclusives look just as good on each and only differ in their artistic competence between studios. On the tech level they will on par and competitive with each other overall. Multiplats will look the same just as they do today. Online experiences will be the differentiator along with companion apps, etc. All in all, it comes down to which IP's ya prefer.
Multiplats don't look "the same" or "identical". PS4 will always have a hardware graphics performance advantage. Those are the facts, sorry. How was your post-Digital Foundry vacation, by the way?

What i find most hilarious is that there seems to be some people here and other forums that basically tell me that i am wrong when i say Ryse is enjoyable. So that must mean my opinion is wrong. Cause One simply cannot find Ryse enjoyable, it is one terrible game. Right? LOL! Wouldn't surprise me one bit if these are solely people who haven't played Ryse at all. In that case i suggest they stopt acting like a parrot and repeating what reviewers say. Actually just have your own opinion, base it on what you have played yourself and don't parrot others.

Who knew Mosquito's post about nodding his head to X1 would create such a fury. I guess Sony fans like consolewarz can't enjoy his PS4 (assuming he even has one yet) unless every gamer out there has one too.

Well, that's life. Some people live life as individuals, make there own decisions and stick by them. While others first need reassurance from the masses before enjoying a product. If they feel people are choosing different products they feel left out or feel they chose the wrong one.

If you keep telling yourself that maybe others looking at them side by side will actually believe you!

My vacation? Was I banned for something I wasn't aware of? I moved in with my girlfriend over Thanksgiving break fyi. Afterwards had to get caught up on my grading and the week after was finals week for everyone. Got my X1 on Black Friday and didn't even get a chance to play with it until recently. :/

Also, stop pretending there's some vast difference. I can post the gallery side by sides for the various games and make you look stupid without any trouble, so spare yourself the embarrassment. There is no notable difference in visuals. And RYSE is every inch the showcase for visuals as Killzone is, if not moreso.

It's a fact they don't look "the same" aka identical. Whether someone thinks the difference is significant is a matter of opinion, and even most people on this forum could easily tell the difference in the DF post-launch comparisons. I know you have trouble telling opinions from facts but try to keep up.

"stop pretending there's some vast difference" Strawman attack. As usual more false accusations, typical coming from you.

"make you look stupid without any trouble, so spare yourself the embarrassment" LOL. Oh god. After writing several near-illegible textwalls about display plane IQ massages, sharp popping textures, 1080p HUDs, pretending opinions are facts, clinging to bald guy's heads, countless false accusations and strawmen, and then disappearing for weeks after digital foundry's post-launch comparisons start rolling in, you say THAT?

And Ryse isn't even a first party game. It also had a slippery slope development cycle where it was first a Kinect game, then a more standard 360 game, then cancelled and turned into an X1 game.

And despite running at 900p still looks better than huge budget Killzone: SF.

IMO clearly more so. Ryse had all of our jaws dropped to the floor and i heard silence when Killzone was being played and soon i heard things like.....''soooo....this is it?''. Maybe it wasn;t a pretty level, but i actually thought this was supposed to be one of the great looking levels. As for the differences between multiplats....if there is one difference it's simply the aliasing. There is clearly more aliaising in the campaign of BF4 on Xbox One. I saw that in the Gamersyde videos. I however don;t really care that much yet about multiplats. Only NFS probably in 2014 when i buy Xbox One..and except for that, probably just exclusives. Maybe AC4...but the differences are not insanely big i expect.

You mean you don't like the subject or the few stupid responses here by some that call my opinin bulls*** and such? Lol.

Who said that was ever a huge difference? It was almost never all that big was for PS3/360 comparisons. The context was different for those disucssions though, and you know it because I've called your bulls*** conflation out in the past for trying to pretend the current discussions were akin to those.

Those discussions were premised on ppl wanting the best versions possible for current gen titles. If the imagery looked better to someone as per the comparison gallery on platform X, they could reasonably get it for that console all other things considered. This time around, however, ppl by and large can't even see a difference in those side by sides (see: BF4, AC4, NFS Rivals, various sports games, etc). Instead the context was about how PS4 was supposedly going to have 50% better visuals in multiplat titles and that most certainly didn't happen in reality. The current discussions aren't about which is better on a technical level or even subjectively so much as they are premised on discussing/debating if there is a meaningful gap worth talking about. Content and the accompanying experience beyond visuals (online experience, SmartGlass companion apps, what friends are playing, controller preferences) is much more important to actual gamers than simple resolution differences that they can't even readily notice in side by side still frame comparisons.

Those discussions much like the ones we're having now are people who want the best possible versions for this new generation titles. Vast majority of people didn't see a difference between most PS3/360 ports outside of comparison thread, but that really didn't stop a single soul from yelling from the bleachers X version was better than Y. Which is basically a repeat of what we have now; and I love how you've conflated how most people were saying PS4 was 50% more powerful into 50% better visuals when most people on TXB have never really stated that PS4 games were going to look "50%" better (ironically that's been the counter argument from the Xbox side for a good while now, a strawman that many people weren't even saying), just that they would look better and they're right. You not being able to see the difference doesn't change that. Many people on TXB did predict games would look or run better with others predicting the games would look the same but one would run at higher resolution than the other...which is basically what is happening. And despite how much you tried to argue and convince otherwise it still came to fruition; hell you were the main one trying to bet people that XBO would have more games at 1080p because of the scaler and how great it was.

Oh and since we're on the subject of magic scaler...how did that work out for digital foundry's second Battlefield 4 comparison? Happened just like I said it would; I was solely disappointed when you never posted in the thread whenever the second comparison was put online. Then you have Digital Foundry and others noticing and bemoaning that sharpening post process in games like ACIV, DR3 and COD. So much for your whole "better quality pixels" argument.

And you're right, many gamers will care more about where they're friends are playing, controller preferences, etc....just like last generation (shock and awe). And just like last generation that didn't stop 1/2 of TXB from declaring victory in comparison threads that are about visuals and performance (thus your list of things being non applicable to the conversation at hand).
Also how is that RFID patent for PS4 DRM working out?

I hated the game personally and played it to near completion (and by near completion I mean to Chapter IV then we bailed out and played something else), but if others loved it then more power to them. If it makes you feel better I absolutely loved Heavy Rain and 2/3 of TXB hated the game and others don't even consider it a game at all. Different strokes for different folks.

That I disagree. Gameplay is the king in gaming, if the game gets boring for repetitiveness it is not a good game after all. The issue with Ryse is that it tries to retain some of the fun and it succeeds to a degree. Wonder why few reviewers noticed that.

Because they do nothing to hide the repetitiveness outside of a few spear chucking sequences. It's the same reason most people didn't like Assassin's Creed 1. Decent gameplay but not nearly enough to break up the sheer monotony. Ryse would have scored much better if they had other weapons that could be used (and no I don't mean the spears Marius pulls from nowhere that he can use mid combo).

Really it's like playing NG but you only have the Dragon Sword with no upgrade path so you're stuck the entire game with the same 5 combos as you fight the same 3 enemy types with very little variation in how they attack you as you move from arena to arena.

Astro and reality rarely coincide with one another. And don't forget flynn and a couple others here making the same arguments.

I wouldn't call getting $2 being well off.

On the other hand, if I got a fraction of a penny for the number of times you've reduced your "PS4 winning ratios" in the past week based on your phenomenal insider information that Sony has sold 900k additional in the last week, I'd be a billionaire.

LOLOL

But don't worry consolewarz, when it comes to money I'm pretty generous. I actually don't like winning bets or anything form people. So I'll forego the billion dollars if you can enlighten us all how you've come to realize Sony has sold 900k units in the past week to get to 3M sales when according to half your posts, PS4s are suppose to be sold out everywhere.

On a side note, I felt Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls were one of the most immersive games I've played last gen.

I really liked Heavy Rain too. But i can see why some wouldn't consider it a game. More like an interactive movie where you walk and press buttons...basically. I really loved the story though, except for who turned out to be the guilty one.

Gaikai, and it's not downloadable PS3 games, it's for streaming them like OnLive does. I'd love for both companies to offer that as soon as is feasible since it's hard going back to 360 after having a next gen console and I've loads of major AAA current gen games I still wanna play. :(

I know you have trouble telling opinions from facts but try to keep up.

1) Your link doesn't take you to anything other than EG's homepage.

2) The DF galleries prove my point perfectly. Stop clinging to the numbers game and use your damn eyes. They look identical in 99% of the comparisons. It's not a "fact" that the PS4 version looks better subjectively. That's your opinion and it's not a unanimously held one by any means, so stop spewing it as if it were objectively true.

"stop pretending there's some vast difference" Strawman attack. As usual more false accusations, typical coming from you.

No no, you yourself have proclaimed several times that there was a dramatic difference between the skus. Now you want to backpedal cause you look stupid with the side by sides thrown back in your face.

I never suggested opinions are facts. You're projecting now. YOU do that. You did so in the post I'm replying to for crying out loud. What I said was that tons of very anti-Xbox forumites felt the X1 version looked notably better and sharper when the pics of BF4 were shown. The final version on X1 looks even better fyi, without the HDMI bug screwing up the spectrum. You may have disagreed and that's perfectly fine. I agree with those initial impressions personally and prefer more vivid colors and sharper looking assets at the expense of very slightly worse aliasing. If PS4's version didn't have loads of aliasing vs a lil bit on X1, that's a different comparison but as both have notable aliasing it's not real meaningful. Disagree, that's fine. But I NEVER claimed my opinion was a 'fact'. Nice try. Here.

You wouldn't be capable of discerning which was which unless it was told to you.

Yeah a similar service for the Xbox One would be awesome as well.

I expect both to fully go with cloud streaming not only for current gen, but also previous gen, next gen, and 'future gen' titles. I honestly don't expect either company to launch more hardware platforms in the future. These are very likely the last consoles we will ever see launched unless your pals at Nintendo get their s*** together. We might skip right over Dyack's one console future and more to a 'no console future' in a sense.

Astro back with his obstinate denial, endless strawmen and false accusations, conflation/confusion of opinion and fact, and near-illegible textwalls. And you're even telling me I can't tell the difference now. Do you realize devs disabled the sharpness and contrast filter on retail Xbox BF4?

PS4 has +6 CUs, faster unified memory, +16 ROPs, and several GPGPU customizations. Those are the only facts I need to state to completely sidestep your logical craziness.
