I'll crash every 2-3 games. but if I reset after every one, it's fairly steady. It's annoying but I'll take it.

Got 5 dinners yesterday, and only one of shy of 100. Also got my first zero contribution dinner with zero hit points. But I'll take it

Finally got the 100th!

Latest release is crashing on me all the time. I’m done with this until the next patch.

Yeah the crashes are pretty bad in squad mode. I barely had any in solo, about 3 in 50 matches--not bad. But I crashed that many times just on Friday night when we were playing squads. Not good. Not good at all. Haven't done much duo, so not too sure here.

That makes sense about squad mode. I play 100% solo and I've only had 1 crash ever. Granted I haven't been playing the latest updates very much.

So we are getting 2 more new maps this year. Sanhok is coming in the summer and then a snow map in winter...I imagine the game will fully release with the new snow map.

How dare they show a video that runs nothing like the game. They have some ballz. I'll give them that.

Yeah that was some seriously deceptive s***e.

I was hoping they would specifically address performance issues but no, just adding new maps/modes to a game that runs at 20fps...

They addressed performance issues early last week. The next patch(June 26) is focused on crashes and performance. It isn't going to happen overnight, though.

I really hope we get that gametype soon. Tried to get the lady into the game but its damn near impossible for her a newbie to get enough practice in a regular game.

The game been out for 6 months.
No. The game has been in development for 6 months...and still has 6 months-ish of development to go.

Look at how far the game has come in those 6 months. Performance, input lag, quality of life, etc have all come a long way. Is it perfect, no. Will it be perfect when it fully releases, doubtful. Is just a shame that the last patch went a bit backwards.

Yeah this game is in better shape than in Dec. doubt it will ever get to some people’s expectations. Guess those people can go with the AAA game BR modes.

Before this last hotfix, I'd say the crashes were as bad as when the game first came out. The game was better was better, but not the crashing situation.

It's better now, but not as good as I would have expected it to be. But at least now when we can restart the game every time and be mostly crash free.

That being said, I look forward to a COD and BF battle royale game. It'll be nice to play something polished, and to play something (presumably) not as intense. This game requires 100% focus to be good. I look forward to having a BR game that is more casual in between PUBG sessions. And hopefully this game will be better by then as well. I don't see BF or COD having such an intricate loot system.

Doubt COD will be any good. Way too arcade in nature and their netcode is usually pretty meh.

Battlefield I have hope for. Just hope they nail it and make the right choices and is well balanced.

I have faith in Treyarch. Skipped the last two cods, but the black ops series is usually solid. They're good about weapon and killstreak balance (typically) and are usually good at map design too. Looking forward to the arcadey aspects.

It's Battlefield for me that is usually good enough, but rampant with stupid decisions. But I think I just don't enjoy the whole vehicle thing.

I don't. They may still be the best of the COD devs but their games suffer the same issues as the others. Horrible lag comp, bad netcode, etc.

Xbox - Hotfix June 20th

Hello everyone,

Today we’re sending out a hotfix with the primary purpose of improving stability and reducing the number of crashes players experience. A major bug fix is also included in this update. We will continue to release the update in multiple parts to give our players a better experience as early as possible!

PATCH TIMING
June 20th 01:00 AM PDT / June 20th 10:00 AM CEST

PATCH CONTENT

Stability:

A memory leak was fixed regarding character renders, increasing efficiency of the process and reducing crashes.

This will help with reducing crashes when playing for a long duration.

To explain this in more detail, each time a scene was changed, (Start Screen ← → Lobby ← → Ingame) the memory being cached for character rendering was leaking. This means that the cached memory wasn’t being released, reducing the amount of available memory every time a scene was changed.

In game, the memory is cached for every character within a 1km radius around you. This meant that when you died, causing a scene change back to the lobby, the cached memory was leaked for all characters within the 1km radius around you and became unusable memory. When transitioning to different scenes to and from the lobby, cached memory for up to 4 characters was being leaked (depending on party size).

This means that upon entering a new game, returning to the lobby or start screen, each time the amount of available memory would be reduced until reaching the ‘out of memory’ phase, which increases the probability of crashing.

Simply put, character renders stored in cached memory weren’t being released from the cache correctly, causing large amounts of memory to become unusable. Over time, this would cause the game to enter the ‘out of memory’ phase unnecessarily, increasing the probability of crashes.

Stability - Level Streaming:

We’ve made improvements to level streaming logic which will reduce crashes. The process of loading resources while simultaneously offloading the oldest stored resources has been made more efficient. The total number of resources stored has been lowered.

Bug fixes:

Fixed a bug where vehicles would sometimes lift off the ground and spin rapidly

Our number one priority is to improve performance and stability.

Today’s update brings meaningful improvements to stability, reducing crashes, especially over long gaming sessions. This doesn’t mean that all crashes will be gone, there are still many causes of crashes which we’re working hard to fix as soon as possible.

Performance improvements are still fully focused by our engineers and we hope to have it improved as soon as possible. Based on player feedback, we’re prioritizing improvements to increase performance at the start of the game when landing, as well as when driving vehicles.

We’ll keep you updated with our progress as we work towards the next patch/hotfix.

Going forward, we will be providing more frequent updates to improve performance, stability and to fix important bugs. We will be pushing these updates as soon as they’re ready to go, rather than waiting to include many different improvements in one major update.

Thanks
PUBG Xbox Team

Not specifically xbox related but PUBG related....

Hi everyone,

Today we want to tell you about something new we’ve prepared just in time for Sanhok’s release: a new way to unlock new content in PUBG. We’ll reveal all the details very soon, but first we want to share some context and information about how we think about premium content.

Since the beginning, we’ve thought a lot about ways to allow you to unlock content in meaningful ways. To start, we tried to establish a cosmetic market based on scarcity by introducing crate and key system. This model allows all players to get reward items regardless of whether they made a purchase or not, resell unwanted crates/items back to the marketplace and acquire items or add funds to your Steam Wallet without ever using cash payment methods.

The goal was to provide a fun system outside of the main game experience through item trading. We also designed the system to be useful for you whether you’re willing or unwilling to make a purchase. We especially liked that the crate and key system can feel extremely satisfying whenever you unlock rare items. However, to make certain items really rare and valuable, we’ve had to regulate the supply of items, making high tier items very rare. As a result, many of you can’t get the items you want instantly, and even though you’ve invested more money into the system, it can be pretty difficult to get the items you want.

This type of market model still has its own values. However, our team’s goal is to not stop here, but to keep experimenting with new systems and new content. To this end, around the release of the PC 1.0 version last year, we had a lot on our mind.

At one point, we actually considered the option of releasing new content in paid DLC format, including new maps. However, we came to understand that this method has some critical drawbacks. Mainly, it divides the entire player base into separate groups depending on whether they’ve purchased map DLC. It would also keep a huge portion of players from enjoying the biggest additions to the game. As such, at The Game Awards 2017, we promised that all battle royale maps will be provided to all of our players for free, not as DLC.

Then, while designing and developing Sanhok, we began to explore how to offer premium content in new ways, without limiting it to DLC. We wanted to create a whole new gameplay and reward experience. Ultimately, we decided to go with a new system: the “Event Pass.” It’ll be made available on June 22, the same day Sanhok hits live servers.

The Event Pass is designed to reflect the opinions of players who wanted a trackable progression-related system, and at the same time allows you to unlock new content in PUBG in a way that is different from the crate and key system.

Just like the crate and key system, you’ll be able to get rewards in the Event Pass system regardless of whether you made a purchase. If you haven’t paid for the pass, you can temporarily unlock many of the items (and earn one special item permanently). However, you can also permanently unlock a ton of exclusive reward items by paying to unlock the pass and completing certain missions to “level up” your pass. If you’re hesitant about buying the Pass, but want to play the missions, you’re free to do that. And your mission progress is always tracked, so you can buy the Event Pass late in the event and still get all the rewards you’ve earned.

This first Event Pass is all about celebrating the launch of Sanhok, so it includes an item set that fits the map Sanhok thematically. The Event Pass will last for about four weeks, and it includes dozens of missions, including daily missions, weekly missions, and Sanhok-specific missions. By completing missions and leveling up, you’ll unlock rewards. These rewards won’t be tradable or marketable, so only those of you who really earn them will get to show them off in-game.

One more thing: simply by playing and completing missions while they’re available, you’ll be able to unlock one free chance to change your in-game PUBG name.

We’ll share more about missions and level-up rewards before Sanhok hits the live servers.

Please give us your feedback on the Event Season and Pass so we can keep improving PUBG. Our top priorities will continue to be optimizing performance, fixing bugs, and eradicating cheat programs. While our Platform, Engineering, and Anti-Cheat teams are focusing on these areas, we’ll keep meeting players’ needs for new experiences, rewards, and surprising new features.

As always, thanks for playing.

Hello PUBG Xbox Community,

Everybody knows the old “spray and pray” tactic. See enemy, fire at enemy until they stop moving. For our first ever Xbox Community Event however, we’re challenging players to refine their aim and work together to achieve the ultimate shooter targeting goal. In a couple words? Boom, Headshot.

Event Period: June 20th 00:00 AM PDT / 09:00 AM CEST ~ June 27th 00:00 AM PDT / 09:00 AM CEST

What’s the Challenge?

We want to see our Community earn a collective 4,000,000 Headshots within a week. M24, Shotgun, Crossbow, the method is up to you, as long as the Community works together to achieve this grand goal!

How to participate?

Everyone who plays at least one round during the event period (and earns at least 1 BP) will be eligible for the prize, should the Community complete the task.

What’s the prize?

Every eligible participant will receive the Bloody Shirt & Fingerless Gloves cosmetic items!

You can track the community’s progression of the event goal with posts on June 22 and June 25, with the final results revealed on June 27.

Thanks

PUBG Xbox Team

Gotta be the lamest rewards ever though.

Not even a tracker in game either.
