This is what happens when you ignore trends and downplay innovations while sticking to an old model and try to jump on new things late because the old way is getting costly.

- Their first party had an almost non-existent 2023.
- Their first party 2024 lineup is non-existent.
- The only game known to be coming soon-ish is another Insomniac game.
- They are leaking PS+ subs.
- Releasing overpriced, poor selling hardware like PSVR2 which they don't support.
- Operating costs are spiralling out of control( 2023 & seemingly baron 2024 will make things worse.)

How many years until they get back on track.

Yes... You end up with record sales and more life to date spending in the first 3 years of life.

Having said that, I feel PS shouldn't focus as much on GaaS but games are getting more and more expensive to make so console makers are trying to find other means of revenue. We already got pretty big heavy hitters in first 3 years like God of War, Spiderman , horizon sequels along with new IP in Returnal, a great demons soul remake, Rift Apart was awesome, and they remastered /remade some older games as a package deal.

Destiny 2 is basically their only GaaS and it's nearing end of life so hoping Bungie can do something new now.

Hopefully the horizon mp is still a thing, and Bungie gives them their blessing

PlayStation Year in Review: A steady but subdued year for Sony, despite its noisy neighbors and a visit from Spider-Man

Despite the aforementioned mediocre PlayStation Showcase in May, the Sony State of Play event in September did a far better job of stirring hype for what lies ahead – even if much of that extends into next year. This showing's coup de gras was destined to be a closer look at Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, part two of the planned trilogy, and it wasted no time in getting going. With flashes of Junon Harbour, the parade on the central thoroughfare of the same seaside town, the cable car ride to the Gold Saucer, Cait Sith, Vincent, Zack, Red 13's hometown of Cosmo Canyon, Bugenhagen, mention of Emerald and Ruby Weapon, and that big bastard swamp serpent that Sephiroth makes light work of – it all looked stunning. Now with its February 29 launch date in sight, 2024 can't come soon enough.
