Quantum Break PC

I'll admit I was wrong about being a pc version. But doesn't bother me, if it succeeds more games for Xbox.

weird thing is I have a really good pc but still prefer to play in consoles.

Its just a lot of lot of whiners and cry boys .. Just ignore them.

This is the way to go, I hope a lot of devs will make games exclusively for WIN10 and X1. The goal is to sell a lot of games and make money, WIN10 and X1 combined gives a Very huge user base. Can't be ignored

Yeah I think theBADguy is onto something here. But that doesn't explain some of the rest.

I mean let's put the ps fanboys aside. Then there are the pc guys who can become incredibly annoying and disrespectful towards a company that gives them a lot of love. The pc crowd was almost begging MS to release some exclusives on pc. This is how they react to the love MS is throwing at them ? I don't know. If I were a pc only guy and a company that never released their amazing exclusives on my platform and you dream about that day and that day finally happens and they show you love I'd reward that by considering buying an x1.

Still I mean you basically get the same game on 2 platforms for the same price AND you get Alan Wake and all its DLC. This is one of the best deals I've ever seen. How is this even remotely getting critisized ? These people disgust me truly. How can they be so venomous, destructive. Ah well. Xbox gonna xbox.

The idiots on Twitter crying because this coming to PC are insecure, childish, idiots.

And they're idiots.

I knew BGST would be upset. They're all insecure because they focus on fanboy wars and media bias every day. It's what happens when you let other people's opinion affect you too much. They get too caught up in the bs. LoL Phil must be shaking his head. Can't wait to listen to that podcast just to hear them flip out.

Just game on what you like..f*ck what others think. I wouldn't have played the gems I've had on SEGA and XBOX consoles if I'd care what the majority or the media thinks.

Most fanboys that say "I'm not getting an XBOX because I can get it on PC" aren't spending money on games. They just use it as an argument to be a dick to others who own something they don't. If they did sales numbers would reflect it. It's usually crickets until the next exclusive comes around..they wake up and roar..then go back to the cave and hibernate again.

In the end having it on Windows won't take anything away from your enjoyment. The money also goes to the same company, so they can invest in publishing new games for XBOX.

Oh wow. Quantum Break is going to PC. I don't have a problem with it really. I do think if Halo, Gears, and Forza go to PC then it becomes a problem. You have to have some exclusives that make people want to buy your console. Phil just destroyed every Xbox fanboy. I've been listening to CrapGamer, Nxtgen720, and TheMooch78's podcast for weeks now. They're going to lose their s***, if they haven't already.

I think they are blowing out to much smoke. I love the one buy on 2 platforms. What crapper keep forgetting that when you run on console there is no windows service pack updates or update video or sound cards.

Consoles are staying just the service is expanding.

Consoles are staying just the service is expanding.

Yup, Xbox is more of a service now and less of a console. It's the way the industry is headed with digital being the future anyway. There won't be an Xbox 5 or PS6. Xbox and PlayStation will be a streaming service, in which you can play your games across multiple devices. Microsoft is just preparing for the future.

Like i said though, you need to have some exclusives as long as you're trying to sell hardware. Especially when you're getting beat by 10 million plus worldwide. It's good business. As long as the big 3 of Halo, Gears, and Forza remain exclusive i don't see it being much of an issue. Those franchises sell millions. There will always be a reason to own an Xbox.

I really can't believe people are upset about this, at all. That Crap_eater guy is the definition of entitlement... "You didn't ask us! The hardcore!" Really?! I spend well over $1k/year on Xbox and buy nearly all the exclusives... and yet I fail to see why MS "owes" me anything. I pay for my games and services and they deliver them.

These guys go on like they've invested their life savings into these games, when most probably got into their line of "work" so they'd get them all for free.

"How dare they set up a plan for a game I'm interested in to have a much better shot at becoming a franchise I'll love! They've betrayed me!"

Goodness -- hardcore "gamers" have been really dumb this gen.

Well i think Crap has a point when he says Microsoft is giving PC gamers everything for free basically. While if you bought an Xbox One, you still have to pay to play on Xbox Live. PC gamers get that for free. You buy Oculus Rift? You get an Xbox One controller with it. Phil says it's not about creating any walls but the walls are still there for Xbox gamers. Shouldn't PC exclusives be coming to X1 then if it's all one ecosystem now?

If you just bought an Xbox One in the last month because you wanted Quantum Break and then today Microsoft says it's going to PC, wouldn't you be somewhat pissed? The timing is what doesn't make any sense. Let QB sell some X1 consoles, and then bring it to PC 6 months later or whatever. Why mislead people who support your brand?

Don't care. For one, I don't have a PC that can even run QB, a scenario I'm sure I share with quite a few others. Some gamers forget that there is a contingent of gamers that have no interest in gaming on PC and vice versa.

Quantum Break is one of the games I bought my X1 for, and guess what, I'm still gonna get to play it on my X1. People need to relax and have fun.

I often tune into BGST and tend to agree with them about "media bias" ( in fact the today's "gaming media" has problems that should be addressed by gamers in general that go far beyond simple "bias" but that is a discussion for another thread) but Crap is acting like a bitch right now. He is falling into the same trap that many fanboys are of thinking that the corporation they love gives a f*** about them or are their "friends" or some thing.

They do what is best for business and MS feels that this is best for business, and frankly if it leads to more new games/ip's or maybe even sequels that i might not have gotten otherwise ( like a Sunset Overdrive 2) then i can live with them going to PC day one. For them it's more about fanboy wars than gaming. Yeah Sony fankids will do their lil "victory dance" but at the end of the day they can be ignored/blocked/etc, while i enjoy these new IP's that will hopefully sell well and become franchises.

I started listening to their Microsoft split their fan base pod cast. Had to turn it off. They were even praising Mattrick over Spencer. I was just like woah, this guy and the Zaire guy are off the deep end.

Yeah Zaire got on my nerves with that s*** i am in the chat that day like "You DO know why the xbox is in the situation it is now, right?" "We have a console for you" does that ring a bell. Spencer is the best thing to happen to the xbox brand.

I think it's just the thought of there being no more hardware that has them on edge. I can relate to that. Maybe someone who is all digital now doesn't give a s*** about Xbox becoming a service. As long as we're still getting the games and features, what does it really matter? Some of us would like to see Microsoft still put out hardware and physical copies of games though. Bringing their games to PC makes it sound like they're going against all that, sooner rather than later. All digital is the future but Microsoft seems to be rushing it. I guess we'll have to see how it all turns out.

The other thing he mentions that i agree with is the fact that most Xbox gamers don't care about PC gaming. We bought an Xbox because we're console gamers. So who is really benefiting here? PC gamers talk all kinds of smack at Microsoft and trash the Xbox brand, yet they want the games? It doesn't add up. Microsoft should be catering to the Xbox crowd more than PC crowd and right now it doesn't feel like they're doing that. Pushing release dates back to give time to develop a PC version? I don't think they owe us anything but if you buy an Xbox One thinking Quantum Break is only on X1 and then it comes to PC on the same day, what kind of message is that? They denied it was coming to PC for how long? Just be up front about it.

If you buy Quantum Break digital, which is the point i'm making. They're trying to force all digital on us like they tried to force DRM and 24 hour online check in. Anyone that doesn't see that is blind. I don't see the crying. I think it's a legitimate concern for anyone that's been with Xbox for 15 years. We want hardware, and we want physical games.

We don't want to play with PC gamers with a kb/m advantage who have hacks and rigs running shooters at 60fps while we're stuck on 30fps. Call me the CrapGamer of Union, i'll probably be accused of being Crap himself in disguise but i get where he's coming from. He could just present himself better than acting like the sky is falling.

To be fair, they can't really give you a free digital Windows 10 version if you buy it on disk for Xbox One. You could just trade it back in and you'd still own the Windows 10 version.
I'm delighted we get a free Windows 10 version, I hope we see this for many more games going forward.

Well, I suggest you give up gaming because the future will be digital and it will be hardware agnostic. The new generation of gamers who grow up on smart phones and tablet wont give a flying fox. They will play their favorite games on multiple devices. The real "console" war is services war, it is XBL\Windows Store vs PSN vs STEAM.

I do like the idea of save games roaming between platforms, however I agree that MP should not be cross play for the reasons you stated, unless the mechanics don't lend themselves to kb/m advantage.

Anyhow, I see this as a good forward thinking move. I wouldn't be upset even if Halo 6/ Forza 7 etc is released for Windows 10.

I've said it before and i'll say it again. When gaming goes all digital i'm done. I won't support it. I like having a console and a collection of games. It's a part of gaming to me. By that time my backlog will be so big i'll have enough games to play until i'm on my death bed anyway.

Maybe if the games are $20 new i'll support an all digital future. But that's not happening, since games cost a lot to make. I know people said the same thing about music and other things, but once gaming goes digital it's a good time for me to call it quits.

I'm assuming the PC versions of these Microsoft games will support 4K, more DX12 goodness etc...?

If they keep the cross/buy promise, this will be really cool imo. I don't mind buying first on X1 then really pimping the game out later on PC.

TDbank24

Certainly MS sees Xbox as a service as they move forward, and part of that is that they view the Xbox platform as a service that extends to all of their devices, not just the console. Apparently, there is a portion of the player base that doesn't see it that way. However, to be fair, MS has been saying this is where they're going for a while now.

All that said, I think there is a bit of confusion/misunderstanding here, and taking some time to logically think about it should help one realize that many of those concerns don't make sense in the larger context of what is happening. If the future were ever to move to all digital (this is not likely for many reasons), there would be no elimination of the hardware because of it. As it has been pointed out, some gamers have no interest in PC, can't afford one that runs well enough, etc. You aren't going to capture this HUGE segment (as in millions) by going all digital and eliminating hardware they're comfortable with or prefer. Doing that would only cause you to lose the lion's share of them because they're not going to make that jump. In other words, you HAVE to have hardware that isn't a PC for them to interface with, and that hardware needs to be centralized in their entertainment setup, just like it is now. Even in an all digital, all streaming world, they would have to deliver a feature rich hardware to console gamers to retain them.

Logically, the same thing applies to the physical software as well. There is a huge segment of your market that prefers to consume your product this way, and that isn't going to change anytime soon. It isn't very likely that physical media would get eliminated all together anytime soon either, hence the reason DVDS and music CDs still persist. There is a portion of your market that choose to consume that way, and by eliminating it, you're losing that market share. I see this as huge obstacle to an all streaming/digital platform, in addition to internet concerns and losing the contingent of the market that doesn't/can't have it. Anything is possible, but that doesn't make it probable or even wise from a business standpoint.

You're also not going to suddenly see PC gamers outnumbering Xbox gamers on a lot of these titles. Halo, Gears, and Forza appeal to who they appeal to, and most of those gamers already play on Xbox. Regardless, there are too many gamers who are considering other people's consumption of their entertainment in light of their own. If you pay for and play the product you are interested in, then why is it an issue how other people come about their entertainment or what they paid to get it. I honestly don't get spending so much money on a high end PC to play a game I could play for much less on a console, to the point I think it is ridiculous to spend that much money, but I don't dislike them for it and if they want to do it then that's fine for them.

Yes, yes they have. Though I suppose it has ever been thus, it's just that now people are not just showing their battered and hurt butts at the local GameStop, but now thanks to the power of the cloud, they can display it all over the y'alltubes and the twitters and the derpchats.

Don't care. For one, I don't have a PC that can even run QB, a scenario I'm sure I share with quite a few others. Some gamers forget that there is a contingent of gamers that have no interest in gaming on PC and vice versa.

A-freaking-men. I preordered my X1 as soon as it was freaking possible because of this game, even though my 1080i bigscreen TV was not confirmed to be compatible (and it turned out to not be). I doubt highly my laptop will play this, though it is Windows 10 and it has a dedicated, if extremely low end, video card. I already own Alan Wake, all the DLC, and American Nightmare (though that, strangely enough, on PC, which I haven't yet played). So I'm paying (well, paid) the price for QB, and all I'm getting that I don't already own is QB, and I could not give them my money fast enough.

I didn't stop enjoying Mass Effect when it went to the PS. I didn't stop loving KOTOR when it became available on mobile devices. I didn't think any less of Fallout and Fallout 2 or System Shock and System Shock 2 when they hit GOG - heck, I bought them again because I love the games and I love that platform. The day my enjoyment of a game is not that I feel like my money spent on it was worth it, but that someone else can't play it because they've got the wrong plastic, is the day it's time to pry the controller from my hands and move on to something else.

the digital pre-order with the pc version? i dont see that anywhere i checked the xbox store pre-order, it did not say anything about that, also the windows store is just for the disc version with the $10 gift code?? ahh

glad for the folks that want it on PC, looks like a solid title.

After this post i'm done. I won't bore you guys anymore, i just can't believe people are acting like there's no downside to what Microsoft is doing. If we support Microsoft we're corporate slaves and if we voice our opinions we're crybabies. You can't win if you're an Xbox fan this gen. If Sony was doing this you'd need a boat to get down the street because it would be a river of tears from PS fans.

People need to start thinking of Xbox as a multiplatform platform. First party games will be able to be played on the Xbox one, Windows 10 desktops, Windows 10 laptops and Surfaces. That's what Microsoft is going for and the direction they should be heading.

Well, essentially PC and Surface are Microsoft's 3DS or PS Vita. But the difference is Microsoft doesn't make PCs, they make operating systems for PC. So i mean, how do we know Halo, Gears, and Forza aren't just going to start showing up on PS and Nintendo consoles? It sounds like they're testing the waters by giving away free copies of PC games to see how many people will go that way. If plan B doesn't work is plan C to go third party altogether? If it brings more sequels, fine i guess. Microsoft has the money, they just need to invest it. All of this sounds like a recipe to be the next Sega.

The problem is, by putting all your games on PC you're not giving people a reason to buy an Xbox console. I don't know about you guys, but i'm a console gamer. I wouldn't bother with PC if someone built me a high end rig for free. I know i'm not alone on that. I get that Microsoft is in the business of making money. They've hit an iceberg and the ship is sinking fast. But come on. Throwing in the towel on the Xbox One? It's selling better than the 360 was. Stay the course. All they need to do is make it to next gen and release the most powerful console and they're right back where they were.

I think it's a great idea with Xbox games going to win10.
people saying I won't buy xb1 I'll build a pc to play Xbox games is exactly what Ms wants u to do. Gears 4 comes out xb1/win10 it will get lots of people who don't own Xbox to play Xbox games, now with a 200+mil install base across xbox/win10, Ms teams up with EA, acti and ubisoft with times exclusive deals crossbuy/play and all sudden more people are buying pc ver and every day pulling ppl away from the ps4.

as the above said, Xbox is becoming a service and it will pull u in and u may not be aware of it.

back in topic Quantum break looks awesome.

You off your meds today?

Sony console exclusive + PC = incredible business decision.

Microsoft doing what they've basically always have done. = sinking ship?
